  1. After costing NZTR around $25,000 so far you'd have to wonder : (1) Who authorised C George to proceed with this appeal, and (2) What is the objective? Surely there's more at stake here than a bigger fine/short suspension for R Collett? What would a successful appeal/prosecution of Collett achieve? How would that impact on Racing Clubs to discipline trainers and others on their courses? Clubs have Rules by which they can have some control over behaviour on their premises. Is the objective to disempower Clubs; if that is the case perhaps some honesty is called for sometime soon.
  2. Well yes I do actually. $80 million is a hell of a lot of spondulicks, and what did it achieve? Another bribe, just like her bribe to the students in 2005 when she said 'just keep borrowing student loan money, and guess what..we won't even charge you interest'!!! No morals, getting re-elected was her only priority.
  3. And let's not forget this is the same Mssss clark who GAVE $80 plus MILLION DOLLARS to ' The Arts' not long after she was elected..and where did that money go?? Some very short memories surfacing here!!
  4. Goff, McCarten,Mallard,Cunliffe etc etc must be spewing in their soup!! John Key has shown why he is the best PM we've had for a very long time, he has not only rescued the movie business in this country he's also scored a coup for the tourism industry which money couldn't buy. And he's shown what the Trade Union movement is all about: which is to be destructive and lead weak punters to their knees with the promise of a few bucks. The teachers should pay heed, I can't see the Govt weakening and allowing their silly demands after this. Just imagine MsssssClark handling something like this! Talk about sucking a lemon!! Well done John Boy,keep up the good work!
  5. I'm with you Graham, and I don't mind saying it. On the other hand Phil is one of the 'Cullen' crew who think that anybody who takes a punt, puts their lives on the line so to speak and ends up making a quid is a 'rich prick'..it's called envy, and its classic socialism,re-inforced for me last week when I heard Susan Wood interview one of the Labour party 'up and comers' who couldn't help himself when asked about one of National's policies and said the usual dribble...'rich boys making policies to help rich boys,it's what National does'!!! Straight out of the 60's.If that is the best they can come up-and it is-then the best Prime Minister we've had for many many years is a shoe-in next year.
  6. Correct! And just watch what is happenning to Labour. The Unions are making a last ditch effort to drum up support and have hoodwinked teachers, out of work actors, health workers into thinking they're helping them BUT the reality is that the unions are trying to get attention and momentum before GOFF is rolled by Andrew Little.,the unions main man. There's an old saying ..be careful of what you wish for,you just might get it'! And GOFF will get rolled, unfortunately because if he stays as labour leader they have got jacksh..t chance of winning any election anytime soon.,which would suit a lot of people!
  7. Quite right..and let's not forget the fact that be they QC,Senior Counsel,Judge etc, good old fashioned jealousy/spite/professional bias and so on had a large part to play here. In fact, the story goes that one of the parties 'couldn't stand' one of the other parties, and hence the issue became an 'issue'!
  8. Phil I would take issue with your statement that his views reflect the majority feeling in his electorate. In reality most of the people in his electorate wouldn't have a clue as to what Hone is on about, they are probably quite happy to let him spout away, insult everybody else who isn't Maori, and just agree with him. Yep, you can call me any names you like but what I have said is down to earth.....fact.
  9. After winning the Queensland Oaks and going very close in the Q Derby, she has had 3? starts this time in without appearing to do too well.Any news about this mare?
  10. Only a small field but it was a nice win, stretched out nicely at the finish.I think this stallion's progeny will look better as time goes on,and the tracks finally firm up.
  11. Berri. Get it right. The Matamata Breeders Stakes was never going to be run on a synthetic..it would have been run at either TeAroha or Tauranga if the synthetic had gone ahead at Matamata, and that is what the 'dummy-spitting' was about.
  12. Maybe Jims' working out an answer just in case Christchurch electors ask him if he's planning to sell 10 acres of prime waterfront land to some dodgy mate for $600k as he did in Auckland a few years ago when part of the clark Govt?...remember Phil-he was one of your blue eyed boys wasn't he?
  13. Jeeze that is a big shame. Very hard to come back from, and she had so much ability still to be displayed.
  14. You really should lighten up Phil. Do you get out much? I suggested you check out Hillary Clinton for fun, if you want to dig yourself into a deep hole over this then go for it.
  15. Phil, you might like to try this-in Saturdays Herald, Weekender section I think,is a photo of Hillary Clinton. Just for fun carry out the exercise I suggested and tell me what you think.,see if you still want to take the piss out of what I posted.
