    79 starter for 25 wins 12 2nds 10 3rds UDR.4430
Interesting to add up in those 25 races that they won they had 58 of those 79 horses start.
Of the other 21 horses that started, they would of had an average of 2 horses start in each race so correct me if I am wrong but that would mean that they have only started horses in 35 races this season and won 25 of them
Cup meeting they started in 13 races  Won 10,  unlucky 2nd in an other  they would have won with another if Ricky May hadn't stop Mr Mojito getting out. It could have easily been 12 wins but for the fact that the 3 races that they didn't win they only had the 1 runner.
    Staggering!

When looking his ratio of foals on the ground to runners is fairly good, his NZ foal crop of 2yr old runners to winners ratio is just as good as the more expensive sires, plenty of decent sires didn't leave any 2yr winners last season.
Dalghar didn't get a huge band of mares his first 2 seasons in NZ, in his first NZ season he has got foals on the ground, 2yr olds to the races, had winners and a listed win also.  Efforts thus far by progeny haven't done this stallion a dis-service and hope the best are yet to come.

Dalghar only served a small book in France before coming to NZ.  He only has 48 living foals from his first crop and 38 foals from his second.  The fact is he has a Sydney Saturday metro winner, a Perth provincial winner  and a Sydney provincial winner who should have won in town.  They will do better with time, such as Anthony Cummings' horse, Golden Organic.  Astara has a good record and proved her class in winning at Ellerslie in record time over the mile.
Also take in account, there aren't too many "star" mares in the books he covered, but he is a half to 2 champion sires, comes from one of the best families in the European stud book and was a good, fast racehorse in France and the UK.
Trainers who bought Dalghars' from the first crop, went back for more this year....so they obviously show ability.  I think he is fair value at the fee he stands for.  Brighthill is a good farm, family run and do a great job.

Watching the replay of Tanya's first win, for an apprentice she rated the horse very well in front and her win on Sunday she also made a decent job of holding the horse up for its run.  Yes her finish needs some work but she definitely looks capable as far as her ability to handle a horse.
Well done on her wins and with abit of hardwork she should make the grade as an apprentice in the south, definitely a real shortage at the moment.

Obvious from all of the above posts that not one of you have been in Southland in the past 24hrs to experience the absolute deluge of water that has fallen.  There is a lot of surface water lying everywhere not just at the racecourse.
Nothing could have been done differently by the course, rainfall in the past 3 days had been near non stop.

Fantastic choice, we bred to Dalghar last year and the Mare has gone back to him this year.
The King's are lovely and have taken really good care of our Mare and always keep us up to date.
He really stamps his foals and is leaving strong bold foals.  Dalghar's female line is fantastic, we were happy to get a Filly by him.

I saw it Chevy. The attendant was yanking on the bit which made the horse go backwards and get more stirred up.
IMHO I think the barrier staff should have a headstall available in their arsenal.
