What NZ racing needs is a professional PR team, not a spokesperson/trainer or some other member of the old boys network. They need to promote the high profile horses, Jockeys and Trainers world wide not just in our own back yard.

Harness racing is so far ahead of galloping when it comes to using the media and advertising. They use main stream televison channels to advertise there big events, where as galloping does all of its advertising on Trackside and TAB channel (talk about preaching to the converted). Then wonder why no new people are coming to the races. I have also heard trot meets being advertised on the radio again main stream stations. They also run huge adverts in national and local papers. Why is it the galloping people think they only need to advertise in racing papers and Trackside?

I heard that he was put down earlier today can anyone confirm this???

I wonder everytime i see it, why NZTB always advertise there summer carnivals on the racing channel I always think its preaching to the converted, but i was even more surprised when i was watching underbelly the night before last and on comes an add for the Harness racing Jewels. I thought that was a much better way to advertise and reach a new and i must say much needed new punter.
