  1. gubellini... Nathan Guy is a dead loss. The chances of this person even understanding the questions that he should be asking are nil. When there is a real problem in an area covered by his ministerial portfolios, the government brings in other, competent, ministers to handle them. The fact that Mr Guy is a minister at all is an insult to all of us. All the best. Ashoka
  2. rumpole... If you really believe what you have written, you have finally crossed over into senility. I most certainly hope that this is not the case. All the best. Ashoka
  3. Catalano... I'm saying that "barryb" is wrong in his comments and that anybody who thinks as "barryb" does is also incorrect. I am not saying that those who agree with "barryb" are as I have described those who run our country and our racing industry. I was one of those until I started to fight the defrauding of my employer. The manner in which I have been persecuted will not be believed by anyone other than a person who has received the same kind of treatment. I know this because I know that if someone came to me and told me that what has, and is, being done to me was being done to them, I would not believe them. I would gently encourage them to visit the local mental health service at our public hospital. What our country has become only becomes apparent when you start looking into things that you are not suppossed to look into. I have posted openly about the fact that our judiciary is massively corrupt. I have posted openly that those running the racing industry are massively corrupt. I called a police detective corrupt twice in two seperate appearances in open court. The police have never asked why I called their detective corrupt and that detective continued to "investigate" me. That person was, then, a detective constable. That person has since been promoted to detective. The, then associate, High Court Judge who manifestly corruptly put my employer into liquidation is now a full High Court Judge assisgned to the Christchurch area, as I have previously stated on this Forum. The reason that I am not taken to task for deriding those who I deride is because those individuals know who they are and that I am telling the absolute truth. If they attempt to take me to task for telling the truth, the media might be put in the position of having to report what they, currently, are happy to cover up. I stand by everything that I have said, as I always have and always will. All the best. Ashoka
  4. barryb... The people I have described as low-life scum are exactly as I have described them. If you spent five minutes walking in my shoes, you would come to exactly the same conclusion. The same applies to anybody who agrees with "barryb" comments. All the best. Ashoka PS Actually, on reflection, "low-life scum" is too mild to accurately depict the reality...
  5. Cubes... You will be back...you know it and I know it. No matter how badly the low-life scum who currently run our country and our industry continue to behave, we will see them out or die trying. Head up...have a drink, then have several for me...cheers! All the best. Ashoka
  6. Leggy... The then President of the Manawatu Harness Racing Club approached the racing authorities around the beginning of this century regarding his Club running greyhound races and beaming them into Asia with no New Zealand-based wagering. He got nowhere. This is what you would expect to any such, or variation thereof, approach now given that those who run the racing industry effectively bludge off the industry and would not want to lose the unearned advantages they currently enjoy. That said, I would have thought that, when considering other options, the first thing one would do would be to fully understand the current situation as well as is possible. This is not possible without knowing what, exactly, it is that Clubs sign up to when accepting a racing license. Cheers. Ashoka
  7. Leggy... I realise that you had raised the possibility of racing outside the jurisdiction of the NZRB but wasn't the main thrust of this thread about the general situation in relation to all Clubs under the current NZRB situation? I was addressing all the posters and readers involved in this discussion...not like you to be so self-centred... Have you looked up what the Club's sign up to when accepting their race licenses? Yes, I could...but I'm lazy... All the best. Ashoka
  8. Broadcasting rights are the property of the NZRB as Clubs sign over these rights when they accept the terms of their racing license. The only exception to this was, and might still be, the Auckland Trotting Club who retained their broadcasting rights. Has anybody looked at all the terms included in the racing license issued by the NZRB, and which a Club is required to have signed up to before it can conduct a racemeeting under the present Rules? All the best. Ashoka
  9. Bimbo... I attended a night meeting at Avondale, making a trip up from Wellington just to see what it was like. I enjoyed the experience and certainly felt that what was being offered could work. I note that there is no answer forthcoming as to what support the Club had from those who are supposed to run our industry in an effective manner. The lack of an answer is the answer. All the best. Ashoka
  10. hesi... How much support did the Club running the night meetings get from those running the industry? Why is this concept a success in Australia? Are you insinuating that Australian-based horses are more likely to like the night life than New Zealand-based horses? Pray tell. All the best. Ashoka
  11. bloke... I have taken this to both the Labour Party and, against my personal judgement but on the recommendation of another person, the Green Party. Both these Parties conspire to cover up corruption, the Labour Party, presumably because they are in thrall to the same bunch of crooks as the National Party, and the Green Party after their Parliamentary leaders stated halfway through 2012 that they wished to be part of the next government. It is quite something to see corruption being enacted before your very eyes in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. A nation with a corrupt judiciary is not really a nation, most certainly not a democratic one. All the best. Ashoka
  12. to bloke... I wrote to Mr Guy in my position as the Manager of the Manawatu Greyhound Racing Club and asked him to look into the corrupt manner in which my letter to the, then, Chairman of the NZRB Michael Stiassny, had been handled. In the said letter I had outlined a number of matters regarding the conduct of the New Zealand Greyhound Racing Board that needed addressing, matters of corruption which involved the massive disadvantaging of my employer and abuse of the industry in general by the said Board. My letter was handed by the, then, Chief Executive of the NZRB, Andrew Brown, directly to the Chairman of the NZGRA Mr Trevor Deed, a person named in my document as a person whose conduct required particular attention, on the same day that I personally delivered it to his personal secretary. Mr Guy refused to meet with me and also refused to meet with the President of the MGRC. He has continued to ignore what has happened since...the manifest defrauding of my employer and the continued persecution that I have had to, and am continuing to, endure. I wrote to the Prime Minister stating that the conduct of his Minister for Racing was the conduct of a corrupt Minister of the Crown and, briefly, explained why I had to state this. I hand-delivered this letter to Parliament. A week later, I got a reply informing me that the Prime Minister had referred my letter to Mr Guy to deal with. Needless to say, Mr Guy has still done absolutely nothing regarding this matter. You simply cannot get any more corrupt than Mr Guy, whose conduct as the Minister for Internal Affairs also requires investigating. I attended the AGM of the NZRB two years ago. Mr Guy clearly saw me there but came nowhere near me. He is, in my personal experience, a gutless, ignorant piece of human garbage. All the best. Ashoka
  13. Ohokaman... Nathan Guy has no interest in finding out the truth. He is as blatantly a corrupt politician as a corrupt politician can be. The fact that this government continues to foist this incompetent non-entity upon the people of our country tells a story in itself. All the best. Ashoka
  14. Ohokaman... Thank you for posting the link to the relevant information. I am still surprised, but now happily so. This appears to be an excellent service and good on the NZRB and Trackside for providing it. All the best. Ashoka
  15. dbtab... I am most disappointed but not surprised. All the best. Ashoka
  16. Midget... I have drunk in many more pubs than you have managed and I have watched as the alcohol laws have been flouted, mismanaged, thwarted and perverted. The perversion starts with the drafting of the legislation and goes further downhill from there. The enforcement of the liquor licensing laws has always been arbitrary at best, so I can understand why you seem to feel the need to genuflect to the establishment. The manner in which this incident has been handled and used to preserve the seeming sanctity of the law is perverse to a rational mind and downright dangerous to anybody concerned about civil liberties. My opinion is based on the reported facts. If there are any other relevant facts, then these need to be reported in order to allow a member of the public to make an informed decision as to the rights and wrongs of this incident. Based on what has been reported, the police appear to have gone to elaborate lengths to effectively orchestrate an offence, and then used their influence to impose a penalty that seems to be way out of proportion to the actuality of the said offence. There has always been a major disconnect between the police use of alcohol within their own precincts and the manner in which the police tend to treat the general public for doing the same thing. This disassociation from factual evidence also seems to apply when the police and licensing authorities have to consider the application of the law to other parties, with some given an easy ride while others have to jump through hoops that don't even exist. Hypocrisy is a word that easily springs to mind in relation to the matter at hand. Cheers. Ashoka
  17. Midget... Your last post seems to indicate that you have no problem living in a "secret society", in thrall to those who control those who control the rest of us. If the police had "intel" about transgressions, then they should be open about that information and in so doing, preserve their own integrity and the respect that the police force in general has every reason to expect. The way that they have handled this matter has the potential to bring the whole police force into disrepute and this would be majorly unjustified. Cheers. Ashoka
  18. Meomy, a lady, I believe, is not to be trifled with. One birthday...two opportunities to imbibe. Well done, indeed! All the best. Ashoka
  19. crustyngrizzly... I apologise for my use of the word "stupid". It was, in fact, very stupid of me to use the word in the given context. The fact that Mr Ali could bring himself to admit to such a major error of judgement and express his regret speaks volumes in regard to his character. If only those who choose to govern us could be cut from the same cloth... The funding of extremist organisations is a vexed question in the extreme. They could not be funded without the complicity of the world banking system and the complicity of a major segment of the leaders of the world's nations. Gaddafi is no standout in this regard. All the best. Ashoka PS I respect your opinions and appreciate the fact that you post them. Sometimes, when I reply quickly (please read, without appropriate thought) on matters that have "touched a vein", I let myself down. I regret this as the written word, while it can be retracted, can never be expunged.
  20. jayar... I have no doubt that this Club, having put on such a good day, will learn and be even better at staging another similar day in the future. Bird excrement is a problem in lots of places but it would be good if racecourses everywhere could make a concerted attempt to remove such from their premises. If any Club finds a really good way of doing this, perhaps they could share their secret with other Clubs? This is not an easy task...I've tried and it is very much hard work for little result. All the best. Ashoka
  21. Happy Sunrise... Thank you for your comments. I look forward to The Jewels being run at Ashburton because, in my view, as a viewing spectacle through Trackside, it is far superior (to my mind, anyway) than the running of the event at Cambridge. However, I had no idea that on-course could be such a let-down. The Jewels concept has been a great one and a real success, I feel, but time does not stand still and the ideas you have suggested are eminently worthy of serious discussion. I hope that this occurs before the debrief from this year's event is over and matters simply rolled over to next year. All the best. Ashoka
  22. globederby12... There is, in all likelihood, nothing wrong with your memory. The latest research has, apparently, shown that our minds do, in fact, work like hard drives. Space has to be created for new memories, which is achieved by the deletion of old ones. My memory too, lets me down at times...times after which I remind myself that being so knowledgeable is its own curse. . I am sure that you fall into the same category. Thanks for reminding me about Mr Farlowe's version of this song. I have the Rolling Stones version but not his. All the best. Ashoka
  23. globederby12... That song was called "Out Of Time", a Rolling Stones song. Farlowe's version was terrific...a great voice, indeed. All the best. Ashoka
  24. crustyngrizzly... Unlike virtually all of your posts, I find your latest post, in this thread, to be not only inaccurate but tasteless and stupid. The tributes you reference are coming from people of all ethnicities and backgrounds, which, in itself, constitutes a tribute to the individual concerned. People of, purportedly, African-American heritage are clearly a minority here. This is a time to celebrate the achievements of a great man who has just passed...and to consider the message that his life gives us. Other matters, no matter how valid, can be put on hold for a moment in time as the life that has just ended is eminently worthy of contemplation. All the best. Ashoka
  25. Trump... There is far more to what "Slam Dunk" is saying than you appear to be able to appreciate. The two men mentioned, Gaddafi and Hussain, are the two men who broke the evil and pernicious hold that the oil industry had over their countries and many others. They were cruel and inhumane dictators, but so were those they replaced. So were those from the Northern Hemisphere that imposed subjugation upon the people of Africa, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia. There were times, of course, when this was around the other way. Such is human behaviour. Mr Ali's message outside the ring was one of peace, understanding and brotherhood through honest and open discourse. The original post made by "Midget" sums this matter up nicely and accurately, in my opinion. All the best. Ashoka
