  1. Yep I can't scroll through the catalogue on my tablet or phone I emailed them
  2. Haha ADM had my mare booked to Pentire but got offer to go to States for holiday so leased her out!!!!! Taking a mare to him next year for sure if he's still bounding around Looked fit as a fiddle earlier this year.
  3. News from Werribee Vets - Fetlock stabilised Not life threatening!!
  4. Insider no worries - I'd rather pay a higher stud fee on something proven than losing the thousands on the last two that were gonna be the next big thing
  5. You've gotta feel sorry for all the work gone into these horses and the costs associated with transporting them hours to have this happen - what comeback do they have cos the bills will still arrive in the mail?
  6. I think you'll find he's still doing the business in Australia one of our key markets $2.2m in earnings for last season old but still good
  7. My advice is to look at the stallions in person - I love Shocking but he is the wrong type for my mare but he may suit yours - I think he is doing well so far - again I come back to the adage "send an unproven mare to a proven stallion" and that gives you the likes of No Excuse Needed. If you are keeping the progeny then breed to what you personally like as well. If you go to the breeding site on www.thoroughbredvillage.com.au there are plenty of experts who would be more than happy to share their knowledge I'm sure Good Luck Louise
  8. Since I've been in the breeding game the Australians have always valued fillies for their residual value and broodmares unlike NZ And to be fair Paul Moroney Bloodstock NZ stumped up for Ruud Awakening
  9. www.nzthoroughbred.co.nz which is the NZ Thoroughbred Breeders Association webpage often have some mares listed for sale or lease under the services heading or put an add out there for the type of mare you'd like to lease or buy.
  10. I see she missed to Pentire in 2011. I also visited Rich Hill a few weeks ago and Pentire is in such good nick does certainly not show his age. I am sending my mare to him this year because: He is a proven Group 1 producer My mare has had 2 foals so she is not yet proven (similar to yours) Her pedigree means that if all goes well, the progeny will be in the Select sale His stock in Australia have earned $1.8m so far this season Australia is my target buyer Until she is a proven broodmare I will from now on only send her to a proven stallion so similar to your circumstances. In hindsight if I had been more patient I would've combined two years service fees and agistment and sent her to a proven stallion from the get go. I saw Shocking in the box - beautiful head but when he came out I was uh oh gorgeous but definately not for my mare too big! Jimmy Choux very athletic. I see you used Perfectly Ready who carries Danehill on the dams side the Danehill/Zabeel cross is proven so looking for a proven stallion in the price range. Good Luck with it all
  11. Of course Fitzy there is not, certainly in the Southern Hemisphere - I guess as with all things it comes down to opinion. As a breed to race prospect ok, but you just have to look at the results of the weanling sales today to see that there is a huge gulf between production costs and return - unless many of the weanlings had their legs on backwards! Highly Recommended stands at 4k in the South albeit a Group 2 winner beating Ethiopia and Sangster, 2nd and 3rd in two more Group 3's and a 3rd to Mosheen - I like the Aussie form - just my opinion. I am sure he will get his fair share of mares and all the best I hope he does well
  12. Atlante at 8k seems a bit steep??
  13. Ashoka it is working fine you can enter her name under the horse profile then click studbook or just click on the studbook icon don't click on breeding that leads you elsewhere - hope this helps Miss Wilson is a half to Jimmy Choux by Stratum and Xtravagant is full to He's Remarkable by Pentire
  14. No matter what the field I'm sure the phone will be ringing.....and yes full to He's Remarkable
  15. Shows you how one good horse can cause a landslide!!!
  16. Berri - I am not sure are you keeping a spreadsheet on these 'picks'? If so my horses are all named now - the Hallivien colt is called Simon Says trained/owned K T Myers, the Testella colt Harlook is in oz spelling, the Ardent Fire colt Here to Stay with Ralph Manning unplaced at its only trial. Regards
  17. I see Cambridge have announced their fees Burgundy 6k Keeper 7k Power 8k Tavistock - book closed No mention of Cape Blanco
  18. I have only seen this a couple of times and seriously who is this Twiggy bloke - obviously if your horse races in the South Island - you are shite! If it wins it's shite! If you want to bring it to the North - what were you thinking!! That's shite!! You're uncompetitive, unwanted, unbelievable!! To the owners of Signify - good luck to you - Jeez you blokes do nothing to give any positives to the South!! Yes there's a lot of trouble with tracks, racing clubs etc..in this country but stop slagging off the people who work day in day out in racing - and have the joy of a win crushed on nationwide TV by someone who has nothing good to say!! I am not from the South nor have any connections to the story on Weigh Off (pun)
  19. I think probably too expensive for 90% of breeders out there or are there only 10% of us left with one or more mares! Certainly feels like it - Pentire is appealing still leaving winners and currently stock winning over $1.5m this season in Oz - the Aussies still like them Its all a gamble at the end of the day no matter who you go to - but going to proven at least gives you a chance unless you go to a first season sire where buyers are always bullish wanting the next big thing...so it'll be proven for me this year
  20. My Tiger Prawn/Testella colt is named Harlook (NZ) had three trials in March 2 seconds and a first Trained at Caulfield
  21. Fees been set today at 15k - not far off Huey
  22. Interesting to see what his fee will be this year as Waikato Stud have said there will be very few opportunities for mares outside of the shareholding group that will be able to visit........does that mean a substantial increase?? He certainly is a great continuation for the Zabeel/Sir Tristram line
  23. On a different tangent the female line of my mare has carried a name starting with V since 1893 - I'm keen to continue..
  24. I wish they'd just stop pfaffing around and say the stud fee - seen three articles on this i.e. Tavistocks stats fee to be set, Tavistocks fee soon to be announced, Tavistock Group 1 on eve of fee announcement........Helloooo whats the fee???
  25. For 3k more you can go to Jimmy Choux, NZ Horse of the year and 3.6million in earnings, 2nd in the Cox plate. I think he is more appealing at the $$$ also he won as a 2,3 and 4yr old
