  1. Too little too late you reckon?
  2. Waikato Stud - 2019 Savabeel - Closed book Ocean Park 15k down from 30k Sacred Falls 20k down from 30k Tivaci 20k (unchanged) Rock n Pop 7k down from 9k
  3. Did she have foals in NZ and AUS? Often the NZ studbook just says this mare was at stud in Australia and you can check breeding record on studbook.org.au - they just manage those bred here in NZ - I've not had a problem.
  4. Good to know thanks
  5. Huey, I'm not comfortable travelling a mare and foal that distance happy to send empty mare down
  6. Imagine how many good mares he might get if he spent one season in the Waikato
  7. 526 entries last year 240 this year that's a nightmare right there!! Last years sale was tough and my weanling was not there to be dumped. You can understand why many won't be back.
  8. Will also be interesting to see what the stud fees are this year....not that I'm breeding this year or the immediate future.....
  9. Actually be quite interesting to see numbers of mares covered this last season - and I see the South Island NZB catalogue has half the entries compared to last year. New stallions can come but apart from the big breeders will there be enough outside mares....
  10. I'm thankful for the coverage whoever pays for it - watched most of it here free to air on tele (Racing.com) before todays races. The Mongolian Khans look good.
  11. I think the new format has seen an increase of Book 2 (Select) finding themselves up a grade and it shows, but a good horse will always sell itself.
  12. Also I doubt much wrong with his conformation - he was a 360k yearling and was in line to run in The Cup before injury
  13. I have never seen the horse, but I do recall he went to Paxton Park when first at stud and talk was for him to be successful he will have to do it the hard way, with runners, it certainly helps to be at an established farm so...maybe not able to attract good mares ....maybe they just need time that nobody in this game seems to give anymore. Arion says 49 foals, 22 runners, 8 winners, 17 wins not updated with todays winner yet. I'm sure someone will shed more light on this who knows the horse
  14. I'm just watching Racing.com in Aussie this morning - they said Savvy Coup sure has the class to win a good one over here sorry can't remember what race they mentioned would be good for her, they just thought she needs to relax a bit in the run - I hope she's pulled up well and look forward to where she goes next, a good run yesterday Go the kiwis
  15. Can't really beat that blood.... Verry Elleegant a double of Cotehele House/Eight Carat
  16. Hi guys a friend of Maija's has set up this page so thought I'd share the link if ok - a pretty worthy cause every little bit helps https://www.gofundme.com/help-maija-walk-again?fbclid=IwAR2IlWcawRCL0LHYTzhZN-ziNW4pM9i8fdJwaxEjYiZolAcr6B2cjnpPpgo Doe NZ have a Jockey's Trust as in Australia?
  17. Arion shows 26 stallions standing in Australia carrying Zabeel, many through the dam. Direct Zabeel is Reset, (his son Rebel Raider is at stud), Don Eduardo, Bryannbo's Gift, more through Lonhro and his sons.
  18. Agreed but really enjoyed the program
  19. I didn't go this year but went to Westbury Stud on Friday all stallions presented in lovely order including Postponed. Booked to Telperion.
  20. Half brother By Verglas - Silver Frost is a stallion and has produced Silverwave Group 1,2 and 3 winner and multiple Group Placings in France, and several other black type performers.
  21. I lost a colt before he was 1yr - I was thankful that he was insured. I've had insurance with both NZB and JLT happy with the service of both but JLT's rates were lower.
  22. Baz I pm'd you - I ran an Arion report with Align as the broodmare sire - all around not many broodmare daughters out there but two Stakes Placed horses with Align as their broodmare sire are both sired by Alamosa that being Quintette and A La Victory. Pins is deceased there's no guarantees in breeding - if you put the mare to the same stallion 6 times you'll get 6 different individuals. Good Luck
  23. Was she quick? Breeding to race?
