Back in 2003 was a $2 bus ride down one long road that from memory connected the Angels Ball Park at one end to the Long Bay port at the other, went right past Los Alamitos. We enjoyed 2 nights of racing there. The Amtrac train to Del Mar was a wonderful day out too. Thanks for the report Aaron, shows what can be done with population, and be sustained over many years.

I disagree. I look at the bigger picture and consider it better that my small betting losses are at least helping to support NZ racing. I’ve had a few freebies from the TAB in the past year but have managed to give that all back along with my “entertainment spend”.

He rode a first starter for Godolphin at Sale when I was there about 4 weeks ago, dropped out last and cleaned the field up in the straight despite a marked lack of confidence on the tote - but couldn’t get Tulip to go a yard yesterday.
