Back in 2003 was a $2 bus ride down one long road that from memory connected the Angels Ball Park at one end to the Long Bay port at the other, went right past Los Alamitos. We enjoyed 2 nights of racing there. The Amtrac train to Del Mar was a wonderful day out too.
Thanks for the report Aaron, shows what can be done with population, and be sustained over many years.
Can’t access NZ Tab site from Aussie. Can’t access Ubet site from NZ. It’s a global world guys, what are you so paranoid about?
NZ cellphone on roaming can get into NZ site because it looks like it’s being used in NZ. How dumb is it to have these restrictions?
I disagree. I look at the bigger picture and consider it better that my small betting losses are at least helping to support NZ racing. I’ve had a few freebies from the TAB in the past year but have managed to give that all back along with my “entertainment spend”.
“13. Reduce the number of thoroughbred race tracks from 48 to 28 tracks under a scheduled program. This does not require the closure of any Club.”
Problem - The likely effect of track closure in any town is that the local club will follow suit.
Result - Clubs will need to amalgamate with their neighbours or they will die without a track in their town.
Slogan - team up together to be stronger
Sorry Puha, not quite what you had in mind?
Back to the topic - enjoyed it, thought they captured the late 70's early 80's very well, brought back memories for me of being at Hawera one October (1981?) when Kiwi won a 3yo mile (if my memory is correct that is).
Rule 7 Scratching replacements!
Here’s the full entry modified to make it easier for the scorers (now I have mastered copy and paste on the Ipad)

love a good roughy!
He rode a first starter for Godolphin at Sale when I was there about 4 weeks ago, dropped out last and cleaned the field up in the straight despite a marked lack of confidence on the tote - but couldn’t get Tulip to go a yard yesterday.
