Closer than I would have preferred but they still payout on that. Morweka's draw and jockey did the job for me. Next bet is Howboutdat paying $2.08 to finish ahead of Rosa Carolina in Race 5 at Ellerslie. Taking a bit of a risk on the jockey match-up but Maija Vance just won on Howboutdat's half sister and she should give him a nice trip from that draw. Trainer was interviewed after the first race and said Howboutdat is very well. Rosa Carolina doesn't have a great second up record and I think she might prefer a little bit of sting out of the ground.

Could have a few today - first cab off the rank: Ellerslie R1: Swissilicious paying $1.85 to finish ahead of Morweka. Nice win here over New year carnival and has a nice draw today. Given a little freshen up and back in distance should suit. Morweka is drawn out and I'm not a big fan of her jockey.

Ooh what's this? A bit of dissent in the Maybe Dollars ranks!? TC challenging the party leadership - not sure that he'd have the numbers he needs to stage a coup. Meanwhile back at Lay Down Misere camp there is a relatively good vibe despite the current predicament - in last place but only a good second round joker play away from the top four. Which reminds me, Peter, is it top 4 that we're aiming for to be in the championship play-offs?

They promised they'd make the first year of tertiary study "fees free". My daughter just started her first year of tertiary study and she doesn't have to rack up a student loan for that first year. Good effort getting that policy implemented so quickly!

jokes aside I think you might be on to it there. Seems to go well after a little freshen up, won't mind the sting out of the track and has reasonable form at Ellerslie. Good luck!

tempting fate Steve - riding a winner two weeks in a row?

Danzdanzdance (Derby) Muraaqeb (Guineas) Savvy Coup (Oaks) Thanks

Would love to see the ticket. Their systems crash from time to time, and they make a few mistakes paying out incorrectly on fixed odds options, but in all my years of betting with the TAB I've never encountered an error with tote dividends being paid out incorrectly.

Nutted yesterday and coming back down to earth. Now 13 from 17 and a 43% profit. Only 3 from the past 6. Three I like today: Polzeath paying $1.77 to finish ahead of Tipping Point in the last at Hastings. Both ran in the same race last time with Tipping Point second and Polzeath down the track however Polzeath was very unlucky the last 200m and should get a better run than Tipping Point today. Oohood paying $1.90 to finish ahead of Long Leaf in the Blue Diamond. Very nice finish from Oohood last time and with the pace on should finish over the top of them. Catchy paying $1.55 to finish ahead of Hellbent in the Oakleigh. Hellbent second up and not a great record at Caulfield. Catchy goes well fresh, likes Caulfield and has a very nice weight.

R1 2/4 R2 4/5 R3 3/10 R4 1/13 BB R5 3/5 R6 1/3 R7 3/16 R8 4/9 R9 2/17 BB R10 1/2 Good luck to Reds team-mate Sarah and as always thanks Peter J. Team LDM worked as well as they ever have on Tuesday morning and after a nice quiet hitout on Thursday morning we're primed for a big effort. Dark Horses are exactly that but they had their day in the sun last week and that will have taken something out of them. And as some famous person once said, "fight fire with fire", so long story short team LDM are playing their first round JOKER this week. At least this guarantees one successful joker play in the first round. Looking for good results from Opie in the first, Blue Lagoon in the second and Devise in the mile. Good punting all!

One in the last at Riccarton today: Hardcase paying $1.85 to finish ahead of Zah Wanted. Hardcase raced wide last start and has a better draw and a jockey upgrade today. Zah Wanted only battled the last two runs.

Yep with you on this one Col - my bet of the day (even allowing for the jockey). Sad for Bonneval and connections but I'm also disappointed because it took $1.50 off Devise's win price. I didn't think Bonneval was going to win based on her two trials - Devise the much better trial when they met recently.
