Rooboy, no more than Foxton, Shannon, Athletic and the other clubs in the same competition. This is my home area and still follow them through the media. Cheers Archie

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what has happened to the old fellow, seems to have disappeared off the scene? Has not been nominated for any claiming races for last couple of months after run at cambridge.Just wondering if he has been hurt or something.Maybe he has earned his retirement again!!,certainly has money wise anyway. Cheers Archie

bblunt. actually Im a counties man myself.Listened to Murray Deaker and he was giving the Blues raspberries this morning!! and rightly so.Stupid Ali Williams was apparently interviewed about his performance and his reply was that he could not give a buggers damn about what their supporters thought of his performance !! He was reminded of where his salary came from and who put their bums on the seats for his salary to be paid.Did not hear his reply.During the match the camera focused on Andy Dalton at one stage, and not sure whether he was at a rugby match or a funeral by his expression. Lets just say their chances dont look too good at this stage of making the top four. Cheers Archie

Rogue Just to answer your question, used to use them years ago . Normal thing is like the movie theatres, screen out front and projector up behind the audience and shows images onto the screen over their heads etc. This system is where the projector is either behind the screen or underneath and by mirrors or direct shows the film or images onto the rear of the screen, but the audience see it as a normal tv/picture screen and no lights coming from over their heads etc. Cannot give any merits on todays type as do not have one. Cheers Archie

bblunt. go clean the "blue rinse" off your sun glasses!! No time for Lawrence and never have had, but the blues played like a pack of "dorks" (as usual) and werent really in the game from the start. Both of the blues tries were actually scored by a north aucklander at that as well, you know the area that the blues management dont really want to have anything to do with , so I hear !! Thought the ex COUNTIES man (stowers) was going to liven things up a bit but could not do it on his own !! Cheers and have a good KNIGHT !! Archie

From what I have been hearing, the act they were charged under only allows for them to be charged WHEN they committ the act of terrorism, does not cover any lead up training etc which apparently they were doing, so it appears whoever wrote the act they were charged under stuffed up big time when they wrote the legislation, and there fore the police charged them and then had to change the charge to the one covering firearms etc. Seems to me to be the luck of the draw for Tama iti and his crew.Appears the government do not want to waste any more money on it seeing they are trying to cut back on spending etc. Cheers Archie

Driving around today and thought I heard on the car radio that the Auckland coach's job has been advertised. Did I hear right ? Pat Lam could be short lived if it is !! Cheers Archie

To be honest, have never been a fan of Bryce Lawrence but did not think he refereeded too badly the other night, have seen a hell of a lot worse in this competition. Best ones i think are Craig Joubert and Steve Walsh(ex kiwi) followed by Pollock and Kaplin. The others I would put as average. Crusaders the other night deserved to win overall and Im a "Counties " man so I suppose that makes me a "Chiefs" area man !! Cheers Archie

Ritchie and I used to oppose each other at school rugby, himfor Otaki andmyself for Foxton. He also representedNew Zealand in cycling at the Commonwealth Games as they were then. Met him later when he was training horses as well.Used to sell christmas treesand erecting garages just out of Papakura and then disappeared and now read his death notice in the paper yesterday. Rest in peace Ritchie Archie

Made a bloody inept Auckland side look more inept !!,andthat includes both Nonu and Weepu. Lack of basic rugby skills were very evident. Cheers Archie
-
bblunt.it appears they got along when opposing coaches, one for australia and the other for india, but cannot work together now they are on the same side. Such is professionalism I suppose. Cheers Archie

Rooboy. Just wonder if you live in Auckland.I can name parts of Auckland where its all Mandarin,Cantonese, you hardly hear english at all. Also the triads have a hold whether you like to admit it or not, they have brought their culture with them alright.Spent two years living in Singapore so can spot these things as I move around through the suburbs. What you say is also correct but unfortunately the bad also came with the good. Also, remember, fossils, relics and dinosaurs in this country also vote. Cheers Archie

Fred 001. Just the person. bought some Talleys mint peas today and reckon Im about three short.Who do I complain to (tic)!! Cheers Archie
-
Lloyd, I concur with you on that. Hope they are both coming along OK. Cheers Archie

Jayne, not playing on anyones fears, just dont like leaders of parties trying to keep that sort of information quiet, especially around election times !! If he is as honest as you make out, let him come out in the open about it-not try and have the paper stopped from publishing it.According to the aussie TV as at last week he is still a paid up member as well. The NZ communist party I could believe but anyone belonging to aussie one, that makes me wary of them !! as to their motives, mind you he is an aussie so should not surprise me I suppose. Cheers Archie
-
If they are all above board, why do they keep denying their co leader is a paid up member of the Australian Communist Party !! when it has been proven he still is paid up. Cheers Archie

I just got sacked from my job with Lifeline Someone called Mohammad phoned and said, "I'm lying on the railway track waiting for the train to come". All I said was, "Remain calm and stay on the line" . . ... Cheers Archie
-
I see their head of the committee who invested their money was a National party member, so I now suppose he will go and see "Hone" Finlayson and ask for some more to make up the loss ?? Cheers Archie

Magoo, I do remember the situation but not the details of the time. He was involved with several other waikato driver/trainers of the period and they scraped out from underneath from memory, something to do with passing information to syndicates who then used that info for the betting situations. Since then I have termed those chaps the "Waikato syndicate" Cheers Archie

Just a general question on starting barriers, who actually controls the speed throttle? the starter or the driver in the cab?I have head the starter up to a certain point and after that(like after the field is despatched) the driver of the vehicle is in control. Can anyone clarify that please !! Cheers Archie
-
Was watching above race at Pukekohe on the grass and mobile barrier pulled away from the field on the grass, lost traction(by the look of it) did a 180deg and ended up facing the oncoming field.Went up on two wheels as well and the barrier arms were still out that stopped it from rolling!! Drivers were trying to pull up their horses, clerk of the course trying to stop the field etc etc, some got around the stationery vehicle, some actually ran into the barrier arms but were virtually stopped by then as well. Reckon there was a change of underwear needed by some drivers, plus the vehicle driver and starter on the back of the vehicle. All in all, they got away with it fairly lightly by the look of things.Recommenced without the mobile barrier. Bit of excitement for the crowd as well. Cheers Archie

Opo, will have to dig out my scottish coat of arms and hang it on the lounge wall. Does my half irish one also have any credence ? Cheers Archie
