Why don't you guys get off your arse and promote racing yourselves in your area. It seems too easy to blame NZ Racing in general. Why not have open days at race tracks inviting the general public to come along and watch the horses being trained. Have a sausage sizzle going to feed the people. I bet not many of the general public have seen horses being trained or even been to stables. Here's your chance to invite them along and experience what goes on behind the scene. Other businesses promote themselves, they don't rely on others to help them. They may even sponsor sports events and the like to get their name out there. And no I am not a trainer or even a owner, a past owner yes. So I won't be promoting racing i have other sporting interests which I am heavily involved in.

I am serious. Best viewing spot. We tried to go up there but it was closed-off. The security people did not know why it was closed. Can't have been an earthquake issue otherwise the whole stand would have been closed. No doubt something to do with Work Safety. If it was open just for the private function people, I will be p.ssed off.

Here's my feed back. We left the course around race 7 and went to the Tote instead. The rooms above the Public Stand were closed to a couple of private functions. That's where we have gone for the past ten years or more. Plus the roof top was closed, no one could give me a reason why. You had to queue for at least 20 minutes to get a beer. Betting queues were getting pretty long as well. We will be thinking again before going back after at least 10 years of tradition of coming to my house for breakfast before heading over. Maybe I am getting too old for this, I am on the wrong side of 55. I suggested if we want to keep doing this, perhaps we look at a different race day, Wellington Cup Day is too crazy.

I will be there with around 10 others. My only visit to a race course each year. I only live around 500 metres from the main gate. Guys come to my place for a BBQ breakfast first, have a couple of beers and then head over.

I know of quite a few people who haven't been betting for a while are taking advantage of the recent Free Bet events e.g. $30 on a certain race and getting a$5 for each horse yours beats. And yes I am one of them. Thanks TAB.

Unless you have previously backed these horses looks like you'll have to wait until they race next. If you have previously backed them, you might be able to add them as favourites from your betting history.

I sent an email to pitstable@xtra.co.nz 22/11/2018 showing interest in the syndicate he was trying to put together. I never got a reply so that's the end of that one.

Approach Fair Go, they seem to get results for people. Sometimes just the threat of Fair Go works. It would also be interesting to see how they got on for the sake of anyone else in the same boat as you, or the Mrs.

Wouldn't the dividend change after each race so the dividend will be what odds you got when the bet was put on.

I wonder how much effect these promotions have on TABs. I usually don't bet online as I rather go into the TAB and bet in there. But last couple of weeks I have been betting online instead. I wonder how many others have done the same. Also been enjoying being able to withdraw winnings straight into bank account. Maybe this is what they want, TAB's to close.

I read it the same way as Ted but will have to have another read.
