Looking back over recent years when the Warriors have made the 8, they've always had a trot where they have lost a few in a row. So in that sense they are not out of the reckoning for the 8. This year may be a a bit tougher by them missing out on taking points against lesser lights like Parramatta and the Sharks and losing at home to the Roosters - though the Chooks are looking like a top 4 team this season. Especially with the big guns like Souths, Storm and the Bulldogs in the next 5 weeks. I see them finishing somewhere in the 8th-11th range on the table.

But in that Aussie test Aussie had bowled South Africa out for only 91 just prior to Aussie's 47 all out. Clearly some pitch demons during the freefall of wickets there. NZ had no such excuses and South Africa showed it was not a bad pitch to bat on. The fact is NZ is shyte at test cricket, and always has been apart from a period in the 1980's. They deserve to be ranked 8th and South Africa plain and simple, provided all the evidence needed to show the gulf in class between the best team in the world and the 8th ranked team in the world. NZ were never going to trouble them seriously as NZ just does not possess the talent or resources to complete with the top rated cricketing nations in the test arena. It would be like Scotland playing the All Blacks in NZ - they would have no chance of getting close.
