  1. GOOD!!! A programme with only Radich is what we need!
  2. He remains the most logical and interesting presenter (when given the chance) on Trackside. The current crop either have a conflict of interest or are too feeble to express what really is needed in the industry.
  3. Excellent trainer who made a big impression with a small team.
  4. Hes fine. Id have him any day over George Simon and Matt "Im the best caller ever after one Cup Week" Cross.
  5. SENZ is absolute fodder. Amateur broadcasters who are too worried about building their profile and bringing up "in my day" crap. They try and put aside some time for racing on a Saturday afternoon, but its brought down my one clown on there who Claydo and McKee have to carry, and the idea that a broadcasted punters club every week is a good move. Its not. Trackside might survey their viewers but I can bet any amount that theyd collate the responses, see what mess theyre in, bin said responses, and say they are going to act on them when really they will just maintain their mediocrity. Its "the way" they do it now in most organisations and businesses with a heavy sprinkling of indigenous language.
  6. He was a DAMN GOOD race caller....and he has left a hole in the Greyhound commentary scene that has been hard to replicate!
  7. Heck that is sad. I didnt even know he had been off the calling scene, let alone that he was ill. Met Trevor on a few occasions after a bus tour to a big race day. Naturally funny and a warm nature to add. My mate and I would often bring up the hilarious moments we shared with Trev like the time he lost his betting voucher in the casino. When we talk about true gentlemen and stalwarts of the game, blokes like Trevor should be the first ones mentioned. A skilful and passionate racing personality who was so down to earth. Rest in Peace Trev.
  8. His maths calculation regarding Think It Over's astonishing win last year was so good to view. I actually did the same type of calculation last year straight after the race to work out how much more ground it covered. It was alarming to see how miniscule the extra metres were. Luke is so far ahead of any sports presenter in NZ it is scary to think he is only a "part-timer", while others who do it as their only job make a shambles of it.
  9. What a great run from this horse all the way from Riverton. Had a lot of luck in the home straight.....all of it bad!! A really under rated type. Was awesome to see the South Island racing form stack up well too with the winner also successful in the Couplands Mile.
  10. Well done to Tasman Man who part owns Leaderboard. Was good to see you at the NZ Cup for a wee chat (as we heard the news of the meeting being abandoned). A nice win for a horse that is becoming a stalwart in NZ's big Cup events. Good on ya.
  11. Oatham is not a supporter of racing on the Coast.
  12. Hawera has a liquor license for tomorrow. Again they save the day for Taranaki racing.
  13. Heres some advice Bruce. The next time you do an announcement with Cameron George, do it live. And then midway through the presentation call him out as to how bad NZ racing has performed since his arrival over 10 years ago.
  14. I dont think he has a clue what to do going forward.
  15. Its a tad amusing but only because these clubs have curbed things to their way of going in the past and now its all caught up with them. No one wants to see our tracks going to the pack though.
  16. Oh dear. Good to see the move to Hawera. And with the issues at Awapuni today, could Hawera become the new hub for the CD?
  17. Hardly angry - just confused at how the TAB has a bias and organisations can bargain with them. I hope you never have an issue with the TAB.
  18. They get preferential treatment - how is that fair? That's what you have not answered. Id hardly call it emotive. Emotive would be what Mark said to the TAB operator at the window. Maybe he should have pulled out his BGP keyring.
  19. I find it extremely weird that the TAB want laws on NZers restricting their overseas wagering yet wont give every Kiwi punter a fair deal here! How is that democratic? I dont care about "some" high roller stories of restrictions - my argument has been about a loyal and regular participant in the industry getting a 50% "NO" for his bet at the window. A few weeks later he flicks on the telly and hears about rebates, etc, etc, and all other TAB baloney with an organised punting group who do get favours with 500 times the punting stake. Yes favours, not just the price on our screens. BGP can do what they want - but dont shove the "hype" (as fake as it is portrayed) down our throats when what we really want is decent race build-ups, meaningful interviews (very hard to come by), and prelims. Let the desperados do their stuff on-course. Get on-course if you want to see them. Even give them a channel (63) - Id say they've already tried this. Would make sense if its such a revolutionary idea for NZ racing. "The TAB ran its own punters club a couple months back and had its fair share of BGP members supporting it despite having no affiliation to the group." - that quote confirms my point earlier about what type of punter they are attracting. You wont see the TAB plugging the "bet responsibly" reminder at their table(s).
  20. LOL! Hilarious. There's deals and you know it. And meanwhile the regular bloke in the street has to get shafted for balance. The big owner at Riccarton certainly didnt get the odds he asked for! A lot of you are on here crying why people go to offshore agencies - well you're sticking up for one of the main reasons why. Unlike you I don't need BGP to get me through the day. They're a con job and a contradiction. But it would be awesome to see a new entity move in and challenge their "precious patch". A few on here would hit the roof and really feel insecure about it all. But if BGP is so great for racing lets make it open slather. Agree??
