Pickel got a reaction from JJ Flash in Them were the days my friend.
Robin Dundee famously ran 2nd in three NZ Cups (including to Cardy) and alsol finished 2nd to Cardigan Bay at Freehold (USA) the day he reached US$1 million in earnings.
She won the first ever Miracle Mile in Sydney and in doing so ran the first sub 2:00 minute mile in a race on Australian soil.
And she was involved in the dead heat for 1st in the only Interdom run at Forbury.

    100% WRONG.
Every photo-finish or finishLynx image you have ever seen is showing you the 1st horse's nose on the finish line.
Drawing a cursor on a photo, doesn't change the photo, in the same way that drawing a crown on a photo of you, would not make you King.
(The photo is showing every horse's nose on the line,  because on-the-line is the only view it has.  The blades of grass that appear to be in front of the winner, are multiple repeat images of the same blades of grass taken on-the-line in the seconds before the winner arrives.)

Forget "Through the line" it is simply not possible.
I believe NZ was the first country in the world to use Finishlynx for racing and NZ also uses a team of professionals - Lynx Op & Judge.  The people in the HK video looking at replays on SD TVs were just a cutaway, they certainly were not doing anything relevant to the result.

The photo finish is always showing the first horse to reach the line.
Once you have that photo, it can be viewed as is, or with a cursor(s) super imposed on it.
Putting this cursor on 2nd's nose, will show that cursor cutting through 1st.
Putting the cursor on 1st's nose will show a gap to 2nd.
The first Melbourne Cup to use Finish Lynx was 1997 and it proved its worth.
Mite & Power and Doriemus were wide apart as they hit the line together.  Doriemus's jockey Greg Hall immediately stood in the stirrups and punched his fist in the air.
But the Finish Lynx photo then appeared with the cursor on Doriemus, but cutting M & P's head in half.
(As an aside, M & P was the first ever Zabeel to run in the Cup.  Just two more started the following year - Champagne-2nd and Jezabeel-1st)

Looks like you're right on the money Zak.
You put up this year's race as the best ever, and no-one has suggested anything else.
Statements such as "Ive seen far better" and "not in game long" should be ignored as keyboard cowardice.  If anyone had a better race, they would simply name it.
If they fail to name it, they leave your nomination as the only contender for best race.

A couple of months ago, or a couple of years ago you could have browsed Race Cafe to read about dissatisfaction with the status quo.
Now that there are many changes afoot - you guessed it - you can pop on Race Cafe and read about dissatisfaction with change.
If you like something, have the guts to say so.  If you dislike something then (briefly) suggest an alternative.
Having a whinge about inaction and also having a whinge about change makes little sense.
Going by their 2019 Annual Report the TAB pulls in just under $30m revenue a month.  This month they've pulled in $50m from Winston together with a wage subsidy and whatever they've made from Aussie racing.  So this must easily be the best month's revenue ever for the TAB.  Then there is another $20m for two more synthetic tracks and ongoing TAB staff costs are allegedly heading down $10m per annum - when has that ever happened?
Arguably NZ Racing's best time ever.
(BTW if you think that you disagree with this statement then do so by nominating a better time - because if you are unable to nominate a better time, then you must be in agreement.)

Freightman - you might still have a touch of concussion from your fall in the '84 Derby.
There is a not-so-subtle point of difference here - 20 years ago everyone paid noms.
The suggestion here is that a trainer's first say 12 noms at a meeting are free, and payment only required from number 13 onward.
So it would be free noms for nearly everyone.

The smartest dog I have ever seen, Misty Anna, when not leading, would look at the opponent in front of her approaching a corner.  If they railed she accelerated to the outer, if they stayed off the rail, she cut inside them.  She definitely looked at them before a corner, but never failed to pursue.
Uthor jumped awkwardly, and whilst getting balanced, understandably checked if the seven runners outside him were going to mash him into the rail, but he never failed to pursue.
In the infamous Blazin Carter case, he is hit from the inside and then outside and naturally has a look at what hit him, but never failed to pursue.

Oh dear, I see that Buddy Boom’s Galaxy and Railway wins haven’t been enough to take him to the lead in Sprinter of the Year.
The points allocated for Group Races should be indexed against the total number of races to protect against ‘inflation’. Or maybe repeat Group wins should attract exponential points. Or perhaps a panel should decide like thoroughbreds?
