  1. So the rank horse slipping coming off the synthetic crossing at the 1400m onto the course proper after 7mls of overnight rain was caused by the laziness of someone other than the person who lost their job according to your informant ?? Now who's talking conspiracies ?
  2. As we know that's your informants opinion not yours but the problem at the 1400m was caused by the 7mls of rain the night before after a dry spell otherwise it would've been perfect as per NZTR guidelines. I'm sure your informant will agree rain the night before a race meeting is a track managers nightmare.
  3. Haha. Now you are getting hysterical and putting words in my mouth. Nobody is saying anything about a conspiracy . Obviously the previous problems on the bends were sorted otherwise there would've been problems on the 10-12-22 surely if the track was as "diabolical" as you call it. I have only ever referred to what happened on 10-12-22 . i.e. A difficult to control horse ridden by an apprentice in "the dance of the desperates" a 2200m maiden stumbled and slipped at approximately the 1400m mark after going across the synthetic shute and down onto the grass course proper. Nomates and Hoho have now gone silent on criticising Race and Awapuni since the trials and race meeting there and of course have axes to grind which now it is clear so do you. I think you would find that you are wrong again here on all counts.
  4. You've been told one mans opinion who has a lot of axes to grind . When were you last there to watch your horse work ?
  5. I think you've been misled by someone with a vested interest in taking potshots at the track staff at the time . You believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see , and all we saw on the 10-12-22 was a hard to control maiden in a slowly run 2200m maiden ridden by an apprentice slip going down off the synthetic shute on to the grass track at the 1400m. No slips anywhere else so not sure where your informant gets the "diabolical" from ? Maybe he was coloured by and referring to the training tracks but that's another story which I think your informant will now concede has been or is in the process of being remedied.
  6. It's an ill wind that blows nobody good of course . Best summer ever for farmers , but not so good for race track preparers maybe ? Of course its autumn now and a R75 1200m in 1.09.25 , a R75 1600m in 1.34.81 and an open 1400m in 1.21.26 suggests to me that the track was pretty damn good , even you and your silent mate would have to agree surely ?
  7. Silence is deafening since Lowland Stakes day on Wednesday so all must be good with Awapuni according to our experts . Hopefully Ho Ho will now risk running his horses there again and nomates can safely come out of their darkened room. Nothing worse than being ignorant and/or in the dark.
  8. HaHa. Nope sorry Hoho. How come you are so happy all of a sudden? Why did it take 11 days after the trials to gallop some horses over the synthetic track crossing ? Surely a 2000m trial on the 13th would've answered that question and we may have had our questions answered long before now ? I'm sure a phone call to a certain trainer would've garnered enough entries for a 2000m heat. Who were the "relevant industry personnel in attendance" bearing in mind some were on a junket in Australia apparently ? Still lots of unanswered questions it would seem , but at least you and Nomates are apparently happy , for now , which makes a change.
  9. Well of course they are one staff member down after the scapegoat exited after getting the blame for following NZTR guidelines that were reconfirmed in the report released 10-12-22 on Riccarton's Cup day abandonment just hours before Awapuni's abandonment on 10-12-22.
  10. R.I.P. Wolfie. Witnessed his classy driving at Hutt Park , Manawatu and Tomoana Showgrounds in Hawkes Bay in the 70's,80's and 90's. What a legend. Had a mate who was an Old School Owner/Trainer who even in recent years would tell me about his regular phone calls from Wolfie just to chew the fat and talk about old times. Was a great guy apparently.
  11. Surely if his pay is anywhere near that amount one of his underlings could have been at Awapuni for last mondays trials and reported to their boss on the outcome and where Awapuni stands now and he could have filed his latest report by close of play Monday ??? The trouble is of course that when you put a stake in the ground everyone knows where they are at and maybe he dosn't want that ????
  12. ffs. Heres hoping the boys club get some job offers while they're over there. When I'm away on holiday I always make sure someone competent is left behind to keep the show on the road. Maybe there is no mention of urgency or best practice on their job descriptions despite their apparently obscene remuneration packages.
  13. Maybe they'd had a punt on a wet tracker ? haha
  14. Are you joking? On the 11-12-22 Darin Balcombe NZTR COO put an official report in the Meeting News site on Loveracing's website explaining why Awapuni's meetings on 17-12-22 and 26-12-22 would not be held there and that they would be held elsewhere. Also covered what the plan looking forward was for Awapuni and that remedial work would be necessary prior to any future racing there. Also covered the fact that any funding for the meetings would be withheld. Since then the Ashhurst Pohangina and Marton's Cup meetings have been held elsewhere while remedial work was carried out . Apparently the remedial work has been carried out so an official NZTR sanctioned trial meeting was scheduled for last tuesday 14-2-23 which was brought forward a day to 13-2-23 when cyclone Gabrielle was imminent. Thus my question as to , OFFICIALLY what was the outcome , bearing in mind connections of runners in the Group 1 Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes to be run at Awapuni in less than 6 weeks would probably like to know amongst a lot of other interested parties ??? Surely its not too much to ask for ? Lets not forget too that NZTR's report on the Riccarton abandonment on NZ Cup day , and was it another day at Awapuni around the same time , was released on the morning of 10-12-22 just a few hours before that rank horse slipped/stumbled in Race 1 the distance maiden after crossing the synthetic shute and going back down onto the grass track at the 1400m point. Were the conclusions and advice included in that report passed on prior to its late release on the 10-12-22 ?
  15. I actually didn't ask for opinions for a reason , especially yours and nomates , having shown yourselves to be illinformed , unreliable and biased. What I did ask was why you two stirrers had not said boo re Awapuni since the remedial work ordered by NZTR was carried out and tested by the trials this last Monday , and much more importantly where was the OFFICIAL report on how the track performed under trial conditions ? If you have no idea please just say so.
  16. Haha. You like to throw a lot of shit ,so obviously do give a shit , but don't like it thrown back at you do you ? So what you are saying is you don't know if there is an official report of how the Trials at Awapuni went presumably , and didn't even know they were on ? Also safe to assume ,speaking of axes, that you do have one to grind being from Horowhenua after the Boxing Day Races were transfered to Otaki away from Awapuni ? Now we are getting somewhere.
  17. Thought you had no mates ?? haha
  18. That they're incompetent maybe?? What does it tell you? Too many people here already have been forming their own opinion ,or one they've been told by others with an axe to grind, for me to throw another opinion into the public arena. Opinions are like bums , we all have one. Doesn't make one better than another necessarily , except an official report on the trials by the people that scuppered the 3 day Christmas meeting and Marton Cup meeting in January etc and called for the remedial work to be done especially with the Group 1 Sires Produce Stakes at Awapuni only 6 or 7 weeks away sounds like a no brainer to me. I spose we will keep waiting , as usual. You have said yourself it may take time to consolidate and then in your next breath you're out with the knife so obviously not the opinion I'm looking for sorry.
  19. Haha. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Experts like you would've known for sure there were trials on to test the remedial work done on the Awapuni track since that crazy horse reefing and pulling slipped going off the new synthetic shute down on to the grass track just as wayward trotters will often do going over the sand crossing on a grass track. ie the horse slipped at the 1400m mark not the top bend where previous problems have been that you refer to. Do you or any one else though have an answer to my question as to where is the official report as to how the trials went? Remember it was a big enough issue at the time to call off 3 days of Christmas racing at Awapuni and cost someone their job . The silence is deafening.
  20. What has happened to Hi Ho Silver and Nomates ? Nobody, but especially those two, has given us a report on how the revamped and much maligned Awapuni grass track performed at the Trials there two days ago ??? Must have performed well which would explain why those two in particular have been silent. Has anyone got an official version of how the track performed ?
  21. sounds like you have a wet tracker in?
  22. Maybe they should organise a trainers race , say one lap of the synthetic? Would certainly be interesting viewing. haha. Who would your money be on?
  23. I will never forget ringing Sir Patrick 13 or so years ago to book a mare into one of his stallions and maybe get a discount on the service fee . Despite him not knowing me from a bar of soap , and him being at the Te Awamutu trials to watch a horse run , we chatted like old mates as though he had nothing to do all day while he told me what a great mating it would be on paper . Ever the professional Studmaster , while putting his new customer at ease. The discount was substantial and the resultant foal won its first race . It was obvious to me immediately why he had been so successful. A great man , a great studmaster and businessman. RIP Sir Patrick.
  24. Look , if they can do Saturdays prices by 5pm on a Wednesday why not Thursdays or Fridays prices ?
  25. But aren't they marvelous having Saturday out already?? Why not do Friday first if they are so clever???
