  1. This is an NZTR payment. Not saying they can afford it ethier. Maybe they should do something like CRC, "you can apply for a $300 refund but we would rather you didn't....."
  2. It worries me that NZTR could think that is the cost of an abandonment for connections. Costs include: Float, trainers and connections costs of driving there. Staff for the day etc. Plus the cost of not being able to run the horse for another week if had a large trip away.
  3. I think Mark Walker will train 200 winners this year. Where Jamie Richards arrival made a big difference to TA was the successful presence he gave them in Australia, with the likes of Melody Belle, Te Akau Shark, Probabeel, Entreive, Avantage, Gingernuts.
  4. I am no expert but I would have a guess that covid subsidies played a large contributing factor in an abnormal year.
  5. Had a small share in one trialing today. Trainer's email last night "This morning the track was a Good 2 and this afternoon after irrigation a dubious Soft 6"........so she will be scratched. Saw that abandonment a mile away. TIRESOME NZTR, TIRESOME.
  6. Racing Act 2020 The POCC is a charge established by the Racing Industry Act 2020 and set out in the Racing Industry (Offshore Betting - Consumption Charges) Regulations 2021. The POCC applies to bets taken by offshore betting providers on racing and sporting events from persons resident in New Zealand. The charge applies regardless of whether the event is held in or outside New Zealand. I have seen no calculations taking subtracting this from new funds gained!! ie. NZ'ers betting with offshore bookies pay a consumption tax, this will no longer occur.
  7. There's a lot of truth in this. If geo blocking is enforced they should take no risks (no competition) and go back to tote only.
  8. Where is this big announcement about the TAB and thoroughbred racing......
  9. The genie is out of the bottle and won't go back in. Everyone that punts knows what the competition offer and won't be prepared to give it up. The TAB are trying the argument that Australian's cannot bet offshore, however they forget that Australian's have a lot of different bookmakers in their country. If the TAB has no competition then it will get lazy. Already the TAB has got too lazy to continue it's "cash out" option.

  11. Exactly, last years increase in turnover was not because of a good site, good promotions and an improved customer focused business..... it was becasue of the government throwing money around and no one allowed out of the country.
  12. I have no issue with this, hard to manipulate. Most of their competition pay first past the post or protest winner.
  13. I think the TAB are not understanding the game. The no deductions is a great promotion but from the TAB point of view it is crazy and forth with danger. Especially with the likes of Te Akau having massive number of horses dual accepted.
  14. You are welcome. Let me know if you require anything else.
  15. I watch it each week and enjoy it. Its good that it is on youtube and can be watched at your own leisure.
  16. I thought Luke was brilliant today. He really had a few good and very fair swipes at the TAB.
  17. They have 11 runners in the first race alone!!! They have favourites in the first 9 races. Second favourite in races 10 and 12. They could win 11 races....and could regret not having any runners in race 11. They will easily train 200 winners this year.
  18. In Ierland they call that well handicapped.....
  19. This years top 4 in the Arrowfield this weekend have an average rating of 104. Obviously they can progress to season end, with Imperatriz and La Crique only 4yos and potentially very progressive.
  20. 4 or 5pm the day before for industry meetings
  21. "Applicants are sought for appointement to NZTR Board......but the Members' Council is unlikely to make any changes"
  22. NZ pattern racing has hit some incredibly strong head wind with a lot of our top races having alerts (orange) or warnings placed (red) on them. Things do not look to be improving either. I personally think we have far too many group races in this country especially group 1 races. Have a look at how we compare to Ireland.
