I presume that he has negotiated much better services fees that what is listed, say 20% discount for instance would give approx $70k more in return, so how does that look for covering expenses and net profit ?

The broodmare section was certainly a surprise, good clearance rates and spirited bidding even at the end of the sale.

Hardly Huey, this year's weanling aggregate, 1st day, is half of last year and clearance down from 78% to 68%. Aggregate for top 7 was $613K leaving less than $1mil for other 106 sold. An absolute disaster in spite of the spin.
NZB still clip the ticket, Curraghmore and company still get paid, as do the transporters, vets etc but the non-stud breeders are up the creek.

Some have great success in the breeding barn, agreeing on a stallion is another thing entirely.

In AUS/NZ Power has now had 38 starters for 23 winners, including 3 stakeswinners and a further 5 stakes placegetters. 21% stakes performers to runners in NZ/AUS

I haven't had any problems with the Swiss Ace foals I have breed but I think that was a concern when he first appeared at stud, much the same as Savabeel when thoughts of the progeny maybe club footed, I guess you see faults but it isn't until the foals hit the ground that it can be confirmed or dismissed and then the race track stats confirm their ability to run.

As this is terminating and I want everyone to have a fair suck of the sav at the $500, I will have a look at how things pan out weather wise and confirm the nominated race situation tomorrow.
If I have to add more races and raise the "ANY" number I will at that point.....for example 3 races at HB,Waikato, Sydney a total of 9 races and raise the choose ANY to ANY5 for entrants to have best chance of a competitive total.

The Howick club was good for meals and a nice setting if you can travel.

I suggest you check out the local RSA or Workingmans club which may be a bit quieter and mare like the Aussie RSLs
