  1. The commentary for the Women's final is absolutely shocking! The guy is ok - but that woman is just terrible! OK SKy maybe cut costs for some matches but surely for the final we deserve better!
  2. We were next on the ballot to race in the last and completely pissed off that Cody Cole late scratched (7.40am apparently) his horse due to an unsuitable rider available. We don't know what time Ryan let the Stewards know he wasn't riding but shouldn't this all be sorted before 7.30am so that the next in line can get a start!
  3. We don't disagree with the relegation and agree that our jockey should have stopped with the whip and just ridden hands and heels for the last 50m or so. But looking at a very very small technicality of swabbing the winner of the race. Ok it is a mid week race, and a jumps/highweight day and the chance of any wrong doing is near 0%. But we always thought that it was mandate to swab the winner of the race? Or is there no rules on this?
  4. We got relegated in Race 7 today at Rotorua. As we were the original winner we got swabbed. The results were reversed and unfortunately we got 2nd. But the official winner never got swabbed? Yes I am being OTT but is this fair? Anyway - yes we will move on but would love your thoughts
  5. The AWT was only ever designed to be used in winter when other tracks were water logged. As far as we know and have heard the AWT in summer is way to hard and even with 10mls of rain it is not soft enough! So have no gripes with that but more the fact that these clubs that have spent millions on track restoration have not done it right! Looks good and races well for a few months and then oh shit the grass is not deep enough and we have holes!! Now with Pukekohe, Te Aroha and Rotorua closed for track maintenance what does this tell us??? Even Te Rapa has been inconsistent in the last few months! NZTR have no idea and more and more will leave this game or move! Good luck to David and Emma-Lee Browne they will do well over there!
  6. I am not sure I fully agree with this decision. We are in the Waikato so now we also have to send horses to the races to be cared by other people which is really hard. Some horses you would like/ or maybe need to be looked after by yourself or your team! Not to mention the costs of transport and paying other people to do the work. But look at the results in the last few weeks. At Te Aroha yesterday, 4 winners came from that region and 3 the previous week at Tauranga. They are still able to hold trials at Pukekohe and Ellerslie which we would love to be able to trial our horses on those grass tracks up there! And also wouldn't we all love to to have a horse to be at a meeting with 8 horse fields! But I do totally feel for the jockeys up there and if they are not being compensated then they should get this race meetings money!!
  7. What about Opie Bosson riding at Tauranga tomorrow? I thought he was in Waikato only?
  8. But it's ok, as they said that "The Email contained private information that should not have been disclosed to you. This information included an incorrect name, an incorrect email address and an incorrect TAB account number" Yeah right!
  9. Yes the same happened to us. Didn't get the $50 bonus bet though!
  10. Well I guess we should be happy they had a camera at the Taupo trials today as they certainly forgot to organise a commentator for the event!
  11. At least 3 of the first 4 races at Counties have been sit and sprint! Look at how many horses in Race 4 were nearly clipping heels because the the front jockey/s were going too slow! It happens all the time and the Stipes need to do something about this - no way can they get away with this in Australia! Not only is it an accident waiting to happen but you can see why people don't want to bet in NZ as half the horses don't get a fair go!!!!!!
  12. Totally agree Crow! They then split a rating 65 to a main race and a consolation race - when maybe split the field and prize money! We have had a number of rating 60 odd horses running in Open Class just so they can get a run! Then they get points deducted for running out of the money! Now there are full fields again they need to bring back in the 82 and 72 rating races. If there are not enough open horses they need to look at their rating system.
  13. Does anyone know if the RTR Breeze Up's will still be held at Te Rapa?
  14. All offers will be considered on this 4yr old Tiger Prawn gelding. His mother is Sky Message and is a half to It's A Message (13 wins - 2 over the fences) and Get The Message (5 wins). He was lightly broken in as a 2yr old but has been out maturing in the paddock since then, so may need re-breaking. He would be close to 16.2h and is sound and correct. This is a genuine sale and we would like to see someone give him a go to keep the family going. Jumping may be his forte! Please contact Steve on 021 689 267 for further information/photos.
