  1. Great confidence in micro-chipping when still having to ear brand as well. What happened to the petition that we signed regarding same? Bit like One Racing, can't trust the horsey codes as brothers, but trust lawyer and stipey types with the JCA and the latest world-wide craze, manufactured integrity units(jobs for the boys),cause it seems to suit our office types, who failed to carry out the wishes of the licence holders to fight micro-chipping because it suited them. Thanks very much for waiting and seeing, hell I could have done that! andy
  2. Back around June, I went with some of Wanganui's board, to a meeting in Wellington where I said that I thought that $50 was too much for someone who forgot to catch. Now I believe that if you forget to catch your own dog that you should be fined $50, but when you are helping some one out the fine should be only $20. Now I see on the stipes report that someone did not arrange a catcher and they only got fined $35. Now what justification in that inconsistency? Bev
  3. The club is paying out abandoned race money as required, the cheques were written out on the day unfortunatley all the trainers had left the track and they are being handed to the required trainers when they are on track next, how do the trainers feel about getting stake money paid direct into the bank instead of a cheque, you may have to wait untill the next day, or paid to the owner Bev
  4. Sorry I do not drink at Bowling clubs, but drink at Wanganui greyhounds where the cans are $3.50 which I do not drink, I drink a single Bacardi and coke which I pay $4, at Auckland I had 2 and it cost $7 each. So I stopped drinking. Bev
  5. 1/ your prices are too high in the bar. Answer, drop your bar prices. I'll promise to double my on course patronage, from once in 5 years,to two. 50% increase, wow. Bev,chief moaner and bitch.
  6. Last night, Peter Early went on and on, about putting the dogs in late at the boxes. They weren't that late,a minute to the jump, and even Peter must know that contributes more to the dogs than Northern or Southern commentators. If he was that concerned,he surely would go on and on regarding the other two codes lack of timelyness. Bev
  7. No Kev there were 122 litters born in NZ, 1016 named. What I am saying is that in 2003 there was, 161 litters, so they would be named in 2005 that being 755. Bev
  8. Off the OZ web. Litters registered Named 2003 161 917 2004 122 931 2005 108 755 2006 124 508 2007 124 490 2008 126 861 2009 122 1,016 Now remember that most Greyhounds are named 18 months to 2 yrs. The 2008-09 names have gone up because of OZ dogs that are imported, have to be reregistered. We for one would breed more if there were less imports. Bev
  9. We got the letter and in it he does not think he has done anything wrong. Well from where I sit he has not done anything right. As for years we have asked him to do things and it has not happened. We put remits in and they were never implimented. Mind you,we resigned from the club last week, to the elected interim committee, but would rejoin, or newly join, once the disfunctional mob, and,or GRNZ sort it out with their legal and accounting expertise. Bev and Andy
  10. For a start Ashoka, put your full legal OPINION on here,in front of everybody,so it can be perused by all before the meeting. This could be the largest club in NZ with your made up membership list, and no guarantee you will show! The club members who still care about running their dogs, not trying to stuff up racing through incompetence, don't need this crap. I still haven't found out the full story of what went on,and I've at least been interested. Andy
  11. Manawatu was one club that apparently owed over $20,000 in total GST to some trainers, and the bigger you are, the more they owed you. (From the Financial Position As At A.M. 16 May 2010 given to all members at that time.) Mind you,on past records, you can't believe all you read! Bev
  12. I would like to congratulate Trackside for having additional front-ons in the home straight at Manawatu and can we have them at all tracks? Bev
  13. This business of Greyhound racing is all about turnover, because that what pays the prize money. Wang on Friday highest on win pool was the Breeders of $29,510, next was $23,786 which was over 305m. CHCH,same night, highest was $26,223, over 295m. Auck highest ,Sun, was $370,329(779m) win pool only next was $18,277 over 318. The point being, theres more profit in the wall to wall racing over any distance, not forking out exorbitant amounts to loss incurring features, year after year, with no sign of recouping any money growth in the investment. Add the real cost, which is never revealed, promotion, advertising, staff, etc? The million dollar horse races around 1990 solved nothing. The Board seems more interested in putting on sprint races to save prizemoney and I'm surprised that Waikato hasn't had that same suggestion, put to them. Bev
  14. Jeez Laurie,we've been trying to get all reps and all board members just to say how they voted, what they supported,or not,and none of them are allowed, or want to say anything. They're pretty pathetic when it comes to showing real transparency, but I bet all candidates would use the word often in written policies you think would help. There are always, ongoing process's going on Laurie, that impede and supercede, communication, transparency, and integrity, don't you know? Andy
  15. Despite garbage figures, you have a remarkably convenient memory,Lloyd. Where were you at Manawatu last AGM when I told Ashoka that the Trust money was there for them to apply for, but they had to do it before Xmas. Can you remember that I said to save money the club should get rid of the PA sound of $19,203 a year, and they should get rid of the TAB O/C as they only turn over about $1500 on a good day and it cost $19437 for the security, that their main job is to be a parade steward . Now I know the club was in the crap, why didn't the committee? Bev
  16. As I see it the only ones that are upset are people who were not around when this all started. All we wanted was a safer track to race on all year round, where ever. Back then, the people at Manawatu and Wellington voted to give and loan CD their money. Most O/T members in Wellington were all leaving to live in Levin, Foxton etc and the only ones left were just a couple of trainers who are no longer in the sport, and,of course, Joan. Do you people not understand, that most people do not give jack about the money, they just want to get back racing on that great track at Manawatu? CD fell over because Club reps were only looking from their clubs point of view. I'm sure people could mismanage an extra $100k just as well? Bev
  17. Well maybe this will help you all understand. This all goes back to 16th Oct 2006 when we did not get the Audited accounts. At the AGM 28th Oct 07. I put forward a motion that we get a local auditor, passed unanimously. We then had a SGM 21st Dec 07 accounts accepted.Signed off 12th Nov 07 by the same auditor. AGM 29th Jan 09 accounts signed off the 20th Jan 09 for 08 year. AGM 22nd Oct 09 Draft account would be accepted if some questions were answered and get findings, back to members. This was not done. Signed off 23rd March 2010. By the same auditor. The only trouble with this was, it was different to the Draft copy that the members saw and partially approved. Members have still not got the audited accounts. The auditor can't be held responsible for the lateness, just the person responsible. The motion in 07 to change the auditor, was partially attributed to his location in Wellington, and excuses of this fact by the person responsible for presenting details on time. Bev PS Have all balance sheets and meeting notices to verify the garbage I write.
  18. Greyhound racing could be back in business by the end of the month, but the financially stricken Manawatu club will not be at the helm. Instead, Greyhound Racing New Zealand would run trials and race meetings at the Palmerston North track, general manager Jim Leach said yesterday. "We are hoping that we might be able to get a trial started on Saturday, May 29, then racing on Monday 31, but that's still in discussion," Mr Leach said. It would have to set up a trust account to fund the race meetings, he added. Last month all racing was suspended after the governing body deemed Manawatu Greyhound Racing Club to be insolvent. The club committee of nine had collectively resigned under a cloud of financial turmoil, which prevented any discussions to get racing started again, Mr Leach said. This week, an interim management committee was selected at a club meeting. Jon Tristram is chairing the five-member group, who were not on the previous committee. He did not want to comment. The club was evicted from the Pioneer Highway facility earlier this month, after failing to pay rent for at least 18 months. It owed the Manawatu Harness Racing Club tens of thousands of dollars and had other hefty debts including a $660,000 loan to build a new track in 2007. The club disputes that it is in debt. Mr Leach said the debt was not the reason behind the suspension. Two independent audits concluded the club did not have enough cash in the coffers to run day-to-day operations. All scheduled race meetings had been transferred to Whanganui, but the track was "fairly stressed", Mr Leach said. Trainers and owners were itching to get back on the city track as it suited some dogs. The club remains disaffiliated from the New Zealand Greyhound Association, preventing it from holding events. Club secretary-manager Ashoka Pandey said he could not comment. Mr Leach said Mr Pandey was still employed by the club. "That's an issue for them, not us," he said. out of the paper Bev
  19. With great sadnes we would like to tell his friends that he has passed on after a short illness. And for the ones that did not know him. He was a great chap who loved his dogs. He was the breeder of one of the best litters last century. And he will be missed by us in Turakina Andy ,Bev and Earl.
  20. You're probably right, we can not have a lot of well meaning people, BUT, if we have all so called professionals, we will not get anything done about tracks, timing, kennelling, or how much money you are running for. But we will get overpaid staffers. Bev
  21. Danny have you read the reports from Allan Johnson and Peter Dale? If so you should give your personal opinions about them.If not,get a copy from your trainer,if youre a member? I believe they should be made public. I will not say anything until after the meeting on Sunday and more is known, nor should you. I just hope all Manawatu members turn up. This is your club so it is up to you to hear the facts from the appointed delegates. Bev
  22. Gee,first time I've thanked Phil for a (to the point)post made, saving me a lot of time bothering to answer Mr. Professional MD. Andy
  23. As far as I understand it,an explanation and a statement of finances,in writing, is way overdue from the handler of clubs accounts,Ashoka. As far as I'm concerned, the order of business will not be putting new elections ahead of full and frank answers regarding owed monies etc. I would like to expect the members to select suitable appointee's to represent Manawatu in immediate discussions with the National Board to resume racing forthwith. I am led to believe this is possible, and that is all I am interested in. Danny,I hope you're not trying to put people off going to this meeting, as this affects the whole region, enough people there, members or not,can try to do something that achieves this. Andy
