Ok..can someone enlighten me as to how come apprentice Sam O'Malley copped a $750 fine and a 12 day holiday after a ride in race 7 at Otaki yesterday...changing ground at 1200 and hampering a horse who still went on to win......compared to Danielle Johnsons ride in race 2 at Ellerslie last week where she almost did a Hugh Bowman and got away with a warning.

So Danielle Johnson forces her way through by pushing Mr Fox out of the way and costing him any chance and goes on to win. George and whoever in the commentary almost treating it as a joke !! Calls it competitive because she's the leading jockey! The word i would use is interference! ...and NO I didn't have a bet in the race so not sour grapes over a losing bet!

Watched the race and saw the idiot on the track but did anyone else spot the stray golf ball almost hit the horses and riders on the first round. About 2min13sec into the race...could have been a bloody disaster.

Thanks for that Rdytdy. We have that Annual at home and over the years that article has been read to our chidren and grandchildren many times. Shifnal Chief died suddenly one night of an apparent heart attack without suffering at the grand old age of 30 and is buried here on the farm
