  1. Yep looking through horses for sale & equestrian via Facebook, etc Thank you
  2. This is a clutch - looking for a bay mare by Brocco, bred by Slade Farm. She would be 12 years old and foaled Nov 2005. Key piece is the branding; Left Shoulder - Slade Farm brand - Bar Through S Right Shoulder 42 over 5 She was given away as a hack a while ago so could be anywhere. I would assume she is currently in the SI with someone as a hack/show horse, in a paddock or a part of the family, kids horse. Any information appreciated, can forward my details on reply. Thanks.

  4. Good comments Fitzy. I don't think Dundeels size matters, his turn of foot is the key, shown last Autumn but also he sat outside Atlantic Jewel & won. Stravinsky, Not a Single Doubt, & even Raise the Flag are small horses but leave good types. Value on Dundeel is one thing but as an owner where would you want him to stand here or Arrowfield, think that answers itself. Zabeelionaire is a good punt horse on a low intro fee, we need to protect the Zabeel line, & the Carnegie cross is proven here. Zed is kicking goals still. The Machiavellian line is proven - Shocking had a good sales series, Oz horses are known which is the key for Oz trainers syndicating their horses - Chivalry could be a nice horse which I think Mr Harvey has ownership in long term. Shaft is for sale - could be a good RTR, Karaka million stallion - well bred, good record, trade horses. Could be an opportunity for studs to look at Partnerships with a Vinery or Eliza - horses like Onemorenomore, Big Brown, Love Conquers All, even a Wanted would get great mare numbers here. These horses are all competing vs boom first season sires - the punt is how their progeny is performing in 2 yrs time.
  5. The word was Camelot was their stallion announcement, confirmation earlier in the week that he is standing at Coolmore in Australia. That will definitely put some heat on there mare numbers through the gate - 2 Coolmore stallions, & some nice horses who will probably get 50 mares each at a push. Windsor also heavy reliant on the Coolmore horses but I do love Poi Mour. Stallion super powers are now Waikato Stud, and Westbury will only strengthen. CD Nadeem flying & Alamosa developing with emerging horses coming through. Moving forward stallion ownership & Aust horses moving at realistic fees are where it's at. Waikato's strategy is reaping its rewards through years of stallion investment, and racing its mares. Options - Criterion, Green Moon, Sessions, Dissident, Eurozone, Shamus Award. Shamexpress will probably be picked up by an NZ stud due to O'Reilly factor. Possibly Bull Point. If El Roca wins either the Doncaster or All Aged he will be possibly be out of reach. Dundeal is a big loss.
  6. Tim Mills from what I understand is the head of the programming community in the SI, and has majority of the clout. Generally CJC backyard or region has come first. Between the clubs down sth they have always tried to eliminate back to back meetings especially with the jockey travel/horse nom numbers which is an issue. Other problem is having to SI meetings on the same day i.e Ash trots & Oam gallops on a Sunday, kills off course turnover as opposed to a stand alone day or NI v SI meeting on the same day. You are correct Sherriff - dates signed off by TAB/NZRB.
  7. Best seen since Sacred Falls in HB Guineas - as good as. Reminded me of the Big Quick who ran off on the corner at Te Rapa on his own accord and flown home to get beaten by I think Chennai. Given half a chance he could be better than Usainity & Survived which is a big call. Survived is very good. Zed is flying. Amazing how 2nd crop kick on, but shows too out of the large crop of his first foals there is probably quite a few sitting in the paddock because they can't afford to be raced. Good on the Grangewillam.
  8. Will we have All Too Hard, More Joyous with also Black Caviar and Pierro in the same race?
  9. Will not be at Cambridge Stud - new stallion announcement soon - European horse.
  10. Word is exepctations are 4 million but market dictates that Based on the purchases thus far makes the NZB premier sale look 3rd tier - big money spent. If there is any luck in sheik fahid/qatar or pearl bloddstock buying patinack or eliza their close relationship with Westbury via makfi hopefully we can get a couple of those stallions over here. The OZ stallions are proping up our sales already and it won't change.
  11. Stravinsky of the site as stallions standing, potential new stallion announcement next week
  12. Don't expect to see Stravinsky back as well - went back to Japan in Jan, possibly one way ticket based on the rumours. Interesting times at CS, they need Tavistock to kick off early, and based on the sales results for Keeper, they would have to review his fee- though he still churns out the winners in HK (watch keep-a-pin) and tyne cot obviously is a nice horse. He never really had a standout in Oz - outside of Miss Keepsake, Linky Dink who was a one hit and Sender? Zabeel, probably at the end of it now - the foal crop on the deck now most likely his last.
  13. NZB have changed the format for the Select Sale - going to be made up 70% colts and 30% fillies, all the rest will go to festival. Red Giants, Road to Rocks, Tavistocks from what I have heard and some other stallions who were a decent fees will end up in select or less. Crazy, why invest as a breeder in stallion shares or up grade a mare that gets downgraded. K2 sale should be one sale over four days similar to magic millions - select, general selct and general. I know NZB are protecting their bottom line but the filly market is shot - it doesn't make things easy, especially when the graded stakes committee are messing with the black type races.
  14. Michael Cahill was banned for his coat hanger ride if any saw it on Retro or Off the Rails. Has anyone mentioned the Bradley ride on Precious Sophia at Wanganui - was a shocker and looked like he did everything to get it beat which it did. Not talking through my pocket didn't back it - surely that ride is worth a break - can a month be justified especially considering she was punted and had the race at her mercy if he let he let her go at the 250m, nothing in the stipes reports. http://www.bloodstock.com.au/news/story.php?id=25515 Prominent NSW jockey Mathew Cahill has been banned for 12 months as stewards completed an inquiry into his ride on a beaten favourite at a country racetrack. Cahill was disqualified over his running and handling of first starter Astronomer in a race at Goulburn on June 16. He was found guilty of not allowing the Matthew Dale-trained Astronomer to race on its merits in a maiden race. Stewards said there were six points of concern over his ride, including his failure to ride out his mount with an acceptable amount of vigour over the final 200m. Astronomer, who started the $2.25 favourite, was beaten 1-1/2 lengths when third to No Cash For Teddy. "In assessing (Cahill's) penalty the stewards were mindful of the seriousness of the breach and his clean record," a stewards' statement said. Cahill has appealed the disqualification and he has been granted a stay of proceedings. He was among five people charged last month with various offences in relation to the race. Part-owner Guy Orbell was found guilty on three charges. He was found guilty of being a party to Cahill not allowing Astronomer to run on its merits, earning a 12-month ban. Orbell pleaded guilty to laying Astronomer on the betting exchange Betfair as well as making a misleading declaration in a letter to stewards. He was hit with two further six-month disqualifications but they will be served concurrently with his first ban. Based at Cowra in central west NSW, Cahill has long been one of the leading riders in country racing, winning multiple premierships during his career. Country bookmakers Richard Knight and Ken Orbell, along with another part-owner Robert Grynberg, were also charged.
  15. If you could afford to for anyone, Nadeem would be the go to horse this season @ 8k. All the horses are in the right stables in Vic & Syd and other states - winning every week. Weanlings sold good at the NZW sale. Wish he would be 8k next season - Don't like my chances.
  16. Just got a text on that - no good indeed. A once in a lifetime mare lost.
  17. Hes been I trouble for a while I think......its not easy. Whats the difference between whats happened to Harris vs what happened to Richard Otto - was he adjudged bankrupt or is that wrong?
  18. Based in Rotorua, apparentally will do Walk ins.
  19. Interesting to see Final Destination leave a stakes winner to Deep Impact in Japan, ref below from the ANZ Bloodstock newsletter. Deep Impact – Final Form (3 c ex Final Destination by O’Reilly) became the 25th stakes winner for Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) when he won the Radio Nikkei Sho (Gr 3, 1800m).
  20. Definately BJ,but why not someone off the radar. You have the new brigade coming through - you have Gus Wigley, Hawkins, Eddie Morris(Berkley), Casey Dando - ones who get the value with the extra exposure. Sure Dennis Ryan or Keith Haub would be interesting, or Grant Cooksley or Larry Cassidy.
  21. Sounds like the horse has been broken in. Are these SI costs?
  22. Good for Westbury Stud - sold him, full brother passed - sure he has been picked up already.
