  1. Wow, so now I'm not only a whinger, but a moaner as well. Sorry JJ, but I'll continue to speak my mind on topics I feel passionately about!!! But back to the topic of this thread & my original argument; If you & your ilk believe a race worth $1 million, where half the field looses money after "buying a slot", as apposed to The Jewels, is better for the industry, good luck to you, I don't.
  2. JJ, perhaps you didn't read my previous post properly, or maybe I didn't phrase it correctly, but the names you've listed highlight my concerns. BTW, I'm not against improving the industry, but grass roots always seems to be last cab off the ramp. I do however take extreme offence to you calling my comments whinging and telling me to get involved. Briefly, I have 2 broodmares, both confirmed in foal again this season, with foals at foot. 2 yearlings in work at Auckland and a qualified 2 year old in Canterbury. I had a 3 year old drop dead in the paddock & a 3 year old filly that wasn't any good, but the years of work & investment to get them both to that stage is not insignificant. I am involved as a hobby breeder/ owner & anytime you want to pay my monthly accounts for my horses, feel free.
  3. Sounds like the rich getting richer, while the battling breeders, owners & trainers continue to get the crumbs. Shouldn't be difficult to spot the conflicts of interest here
  4. And all of this in a booming property market. Imagine the losses if the market was in recession!!! The question remains, Is the ATC capable of finding its way out of this hole? BTW, selling Franklin Park seems absolutely ridiculous to me, surely by the time you purchase a new property and set up the required infrastructure at said property (assuming somewhere suitable can be found closer to Auckland, than Cambridge) the proceeds of sale will be used up, plus some? Happy to hear others thoughts
  5. yup, the same lot. And jeez mate, one at a time is more than enough for me thanks .
  6. Didn't see the race. Here is how the stipes saw it; Race 7 PAUL RENWICK JOINERY (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE DENNIS DENUTO - raced wide early stages. FRANKIE JONES - raced wide early stages. CALYPSO ROCK - raced wide early stages. SKIDADDLE and DENNIS DENUTO locked wheels near the 1400 metres resulting in driver B Hope (SKIDADDLE) being dislodged from his sulky with SKIDADDLE escaping driverless with a number of runners being checked to varying degrees. Due to the driverless horse disorganising the field and with safety concerns for all other horses and drivers, Stewards stopped the race in accordance with Rule 211A(1). However due to the horses having raced more than 1000 metres without being able to be stopped Stewards determined the race be abandoned. Driver B Hope was examined by St John Paramedics and was cleared to fulfill his remaining driving engagements. Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one horse or driver in relation to SKIDADDLE and DENNIS DENUTO locking wheels and took the matter no further.
  7. So, a court of law can find you innocent, but the RIB can still impose lengthy suspensions &/or fines, because they have a lower threshold. Sounds like vindictive arse-wipes desperately trying to save face to me.
  8. Wow!!!! Are you for real, or just taking the piss? I hope it's the latter. If it's the former, you are a seriously sad individual.
  9. haha hang in there mate, it's gonna be worth it
  10. Agreed. Draws have certainly evened the field up this year... To quote GS, Bring It On!!!!
  11. Why? Because HRNZ have this antiquated law which allows for caretaker trainers. So disparaging either trainer, in this instance, is completely unacceptable.
  12. 10 off the front. The bones looking better all the time lol
  13. Bugger, just heard Pembrook Playboy out of cup with leg injury. Only minor injury apparently, shame for the connections, but there's always next year. Saw BTTB in the catalogue & then at the yearling sales of his year, he's raced up to his breeding & looks that's for sure
  14. Ya not wrong about this Covid shit mate, completely over it. Now that the draws are out I can't see Pembrook Playboy getting beaten. Been a little unlucky of late, but has the drop on all his main rivals here. As for "The Bone", think his future lies in Oz or possibly US, has speed to burn that boy.
  15. Best for me is Taipo, a tough field, but a slight drop back in class & the mobile will help. For odds, Trixton Time. I'm expecting the Dalgety's to have a good day
  16. I understand the "extract & analyse data" and even the "present that information to HRNZ management and Board". But "Recommended insights" coming from one individual doesn't fill me with confidence. Hopefully they appoint someone who has absolutely zero conflicts of interest
  17. Uh oh, here we go!!!! My arguement all along has been; why do a covid test, up to 72 hours before hand and then let people travel, with nothing afterwards. Surely the traveller & their houshold having to self isolate for 5 days & then have a negative covid test is a better way of doing it??? But no, this lot have been "so busy" telling everyday hard working, law abidding citizens how it'll be from now on, that despite all their expert adivce, Delta is in the South Island.... I've never attended a protest march in my life, but if one was organized in my area about the current socialist government and their blatant lies, i'd be there like a shot. As long as it wasn't organized by a bunch of radicals; i.e Iwi, hippies, profesional protesters or greenies of course.
  18. 64 noms for 10 race program at "The Park" Friday. Can't blame Covid for everything, unless you're the government of course. That is abysmal & unfortunately another nail in the coffin for harness racing in the North, IMHO
  19. Cindy & Co couldn't organize a piss up at a brewery, so it's no surprise that they won't let a party at the races, that they have nothing to do with organizing, go ahead. As far as the pie man goes, once upon a time ministers of the crown were staunch advocates for the industries they were ministers of. Show me one minister that has done that in this current dictatorship, who rule by fear and fear alone. Almost 2 years of Covid and NO COVID CASES IN THE SOUTH ISLAND FOR ALMOST 12 MONTHS....... But wait, they now have a plan, we just have to wait until Friday to hear it!!!!

    All Stars

Lol. Are we even allowed to say male & female anymore But back to the topic. I heard somebody at the yearling sales say "there goes racing royalty" as M & N walked by.... Hard to argue against that!!!
  21. Oh Nelli.... poor deluded, haven't Ashley & Cindy done so well, Nelli. Yes, we've had more freedoms than most other countries, but we're now borrowing a billion dollars a week, so your arguement about the economy is void. Then while we were covid free our leaders sat on their asses & delayed the vaccine rollout, this despite them telling us "we'd be the first cab off the rank" Had they done as promised this second outbreak may never have happened. As far as Aucklanders doing it tough.... FFS, THATS WHERE COVID IS. It's not in the South Island, despite several entitled Aucklanders trying to export it south!!! BTW I do not live in the South Island, but fully understand their frustration.
  22. AND IN THIS CURRENT DELTA OUTBREAK, THE SOUTH ISLAND HAS HAD HOW MANY CASES??? RULING BY MISINFORMTION AND FEAR. DISGRACEFUL, ESPECIALLY GIVEN ITS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK. WELL DONE TO OUR REACTIONARY PM AND HER BOOT LICKERS!!!!
  23. Haha, agreed. Looks like capacity fields, for the most part, at Addington & Ashburton. Any idea when trials recommence?
