I went to Karaka for the first time in 2017 and my pick of the sale of the horses I saw was Avantage. I went again in 2019 and my pick of the sale was Just Ben. It seems I have an eye for a good horse, but also an eye for a not-so-good horse. Unfortunately I don't know which eye is which.

Would love to see him crack it for a win one day.

Gruff bit tough on Triston Moodley's ride on Charmer. Sure having won $55,610 in stakes prior to the race she looked a top prospect. She is now a 12 start maiden. Looking for a middle distance in my opinion. Tristan did weigh in 0.6kgs overweight. Later in the day he won on Mr Mojo Risin' and the unfancied Lightning Jack. Ironic that sometimes when you bag a jockey they bounce back quickly and ride winners!

Inglis website says 2.15pm (which is 4.15pm NZ time) but if Inglis is like NZB then it will be closer to 4pm (NZ time).

I noticed this too with the pre race tote and fixed odds pricing graphics box.  It looks too centred and takes away some of the cameras focus point.  Meanwhile there is a narrow strip of camera view on the far left of the screen that serves no purpose its so small.  They should just push the graphics to the far left and open up the viewing a bit more.  A small gripe but other than that I quite like the new look.  

Very impressive to see they can find a dozen or so jocks of this calibre who can ride under 53kgs 

Wonder if there is a position for Jaye Ivil in the on course team?

Even though he hasn't called for years, he was great today at Palmy. Head and Shoulders above Rosanowski, so come on get him back fulltime and get rid of Rosanowski as a commentator.

What is it with some owners , are they just straight out greedy bastards , CW has won them millions on this horse over the last couple of seasons , now one ride that "They" think is average and they want sack him , Christ he ran second , I don't believe he would have gone any better ridden closer as he would have had to do a bit of work to be closer to the eventual winner and IMO he wouldn't have beaten her on the day , she was super .
Just like everything else in this world people want it all , be grateful for what you have got you miserable gits and stop being bad losers .

I actually think that Mick Guerin is one of the more knowledgeable people in the game.
Him and Luke Radich are light years ahead of anyone else. 
Who else in the Trackside lineup puts their money up in “real ownership” and in both codes too?

Zak Husssai He has moved to the Gold Coast for a refresh riding work just started his weight reduction program and well been riding over there soon. Quite funny really he was gunna buy a cheap run about car BUT quickly relised  he needs a bloody good 1 in terms of the travelling he well need to do "Skins" well be back soon

That's quite harsh - she has ridden 16 winners at Ellerslie from 521 rides. Ok strike rate is poor but not shockingly poor.

I've always liked Whangaehu as a horse.
Took a little bit of $21 on futures. He's a live chance but probably more a likely placegetter.

I know Masa has had his knockers on here but he is riding as good as anyone in the country right now...I have always liked him and a bloody good hard working person to boot.

With the imminent demise of Newshub, there is going to be up to 200 very talented people with "media skills" come on the market, between now and June.
Entain/TAB, NZTR and the Harness people should be putting the feelers out now, for anyone who might have an interest in our Industry.
My guess is that many of them would have an immense amount to offer, if you simply took a line through what Guy Hevelt brought to the Karaka Sales/Karaka race-night presentation.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have Samantha Hayes fronting Trackside.
Don't laugh, maybe not Sam, but there are surely dozens of quality people waiting in the wings with nowhere to go.

I have no facts to back this up but on the face of it, it seems that Warren, Mcnab and Opie are all going through cold patches lately.  Grylls and Colgan seem to be the ones with the hot hand.

True indeed but I suggest there have been significant changes in the last 5 years, particularly the last 3 years with many more top drawer trainers landing there due to stakes 
TA could succeed in NSW but I think VIC a much better choice
