So you think it's OK to use a jigger on a defenceless animal, and that if they are not trying they deserve it??? For me what he did is totally wrong if you are that desperate to win, then there is something wrong with you...I for one would never give him a horse but thats just my opinion, I think more of the horse than just being a means to an end.

My opinion is that anyone who treats horses like this does not deserve to have a trainers licence...what he did in front of people was nothing but cruel...if he does this in front of people what does he do to them behind closed doors.

Absolutely loved this! Not sure if it got any mainstream News coverage but it should have.
Interesting all the comments around poor judgement from other riders.
This was a 'freak' effort so pretty hard to point blame at the other riders in my opinion.
Let's face it - we are all talking about it because of it's abnormality. 99 times out of 100 such a lead results in the horse walking over the line, so for POJ to maintain the strong gallop to the line was incredible.
The only ride I would comment on is the brilliance of Declan Bates - in this instance his nickname 'Master' is fitting, rather than the funny connotations of it.
Seemed to let her do her own thing, gave her a little rest before the rise and then they were history.
One thing I do wonder is he she had wobbled up the straight, and finished out of the money, if Maher would have had a 'face like a half sucked Throatie' like he did with the Jimmysastar ride 🤔
One of the great G1 wins of all time and we should celebrate the positive side of it 👍

There certainly appeared to be a distinct lack of urgency (that could be seen from the wide shot - the veeerrryyy wide and ever widening shot, at least), especially when most of those same jockeys have already been chasing the same horse running in the same style - admittedly by slightly lesser margins - and rarely failing to catch her on numerous occasions recently. What were they thinking?

Brilliant. Win by Pride of Jenni. Just too good. Funny how folk have to find  a fall guy for the rest of them.

Well done Veandercross , good luck next week . Thanks to my teammates , Memphis , Pogo and Little Tramp , you guys have been great to compete alongside and I'm just sorry that I didn't hold my end up better , eapecially today . 
To John , massive thanks for your efforts running this comp , has been great fun , most of the time , and to Scooby for putting up the prizes . I think most would agree that we weren't competing for the prizes but the fun and glory , been great to be part of and hope it happens again .

All the money in the world poured into stakes do not cover up the major cracks we have in this industry .
But it seems all you ever hear from the big names within the industry is how great things are and it's a great time to be involved .
Why is it no one , and I mean no one , within the hierarchy or one of the big players have the character to come out and start being honest , because until that starts nothing is ever going to be solved . You know giving critique doesn't have to be a negative .
It's fantastic the direction stakes are going but it breaks my heart that these real issues within our sport as Scooby says , just dealt with bullshit and waffle .
No one ever says right enough is enough , we are going to deal with these issues once and for all .
Or as I suspect , is everybody just too busy counting their dollars and don't want to rock the boat .
Please someone stand up and show some leadership , no not some , how about true leadership .

We all know Debbie Kepitis, along with the Tighe and Treweeke families, owned Winx and are now $27m better off because of it.
The attachment to the mare is obvious, and she was quoted as saying they did not intend to bid on the filly, but in recent weeks the family had realised how strong that attachment was, and the likelihood of her going overseas prompted the change of mind.
I think it is brilliant she put her hand up to keep her in Australia. Winx had already lost her first foal by I am Invincible which almost cost her life, and there was no guarantee she would have another one. ( Good news today that she is in foal to Snitzel  ) 
Woppit Bloodstock and Chris Waller will handle her as they did Winx. Whether she attains heights anywhere near Mum, time will tell, but even so the opportunity to carry on the bloodline down the track was no doubt another reason to keep her in Australia.
Good on them.Wish them all the best whichever way it goes.

 

So what they bid up to what they wanted to buy out the partnership...the American knew the score and tried to buy her...but in the end the heart ruled the head and she bought the partners out but how was it not good for racing and the whole industry...some good publicity so just dont see why the negativity...JMO

So you think bashing a horse is OK...many people must have seen what he did as so many commented on what they saw...if you think this type of treatment to a horse is ok then sorry I can not agree.

Well if your trying to straighten out a recalcitrant young horse with some wayward and possibly dangerous tendencies then I would suggest that bashing it over the head repeatedly isn't going to help solve the problems , actually I won't just suggest it , I'll say straight , it won't help .
You need to build trust and giving a horse a bash ain't the way to do it .
Generally it is an anger management issue ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, with the human . 

Horrible to read ..Cant help but think ,if he did those things at the track with others watching ,what goes on  at home when no one else is around.

Based on projections of attendance, this should do the job and not be too cost prohibitive....

The outright lies told by the ATC leadership through the media makes them unworthy of support, which is a really sad thing to have to say. But it is FACT. End of!!

Fiery F, dude, all those media reports across the paps alone were enough to signal somethin wasn't right at The Park, and from all reports it still aint right....so don't be gettin all up on your high horse about people stickin the boot in, when it is ATC and the leadership there that have caused whats happened, startin with that bloody developments disaster (misguided yes) and the resultant continued efforts to maintain the 'there's nothin to see here' syndrome, when clearly there was more than alot to see and hear there, as media reports attest....and Pure you are not the only one to suggest why don't they sell APark and get Pukekohe up an runnin, I have heard that asked by many when talkin about AlexPark woes etc...
