Mick Boots is getting up near 100 horses. I read he uses 17 different trainers throughout Australia and Nz. 
 Swayzee is obviously near his best horse,  but he has always raced Captains Mistress out of Nathan Williamsons in the South Island . Since Nathan had the bad accident the mare has moved to Grimson's to prepare for the BIG Group 1 Mares races coming up soon in NSW.  Hopefully Bootsie still has other horses with Nathan to continue with when back in the bike.
Ironically,  trainer Jason Grimson's only race loss last night after winning the first 5 that Idolmite listed above, was in the Mares race  , when his horse was placed 2nd,  to a mare raced by Boots named 'PRECISE' trained out of the Brad Hewitt stable . Another very good trainer in NSW.   
Bootsie is sure to have a very good year. Grimson has shares in Swayzee himself so actually drove Swayzee himself in his big win over Don Hugo last week.

The father and son partnership ended at the start of the season. Mark is training Akuta and Oscar at Te Rapa; Nathan training at Pukekohe. Mark Purdon will still help select the yearlings I believe -- there are not many better than him at picking quality stock. 

not quite sure who else you wanted there ?  Dalgety's are missing . but was some strong stables otherwise . 
Heaps of the leading stables of NZ presented runners at Nelson with Dunn's winning a few races , Mark Jones, Cullens, Telfers, Hopes, Bob Butt , Steven Reid and Regan Todd all with runners. All these Top 8  ADDINGTON Class Metro trainers having a go . Swept the card between them nearly too .
So not much more Nelson could do ? but attract your best trainers and drivers. no room for mug trainers unfortunately , although great effort by Tim Trathen to win the feature trot with Nellie Doyle. thanks to a good Blair Orange drive on that one.  

I do notice…. Stonewall do not win the big races…. A lot at Cambridge…. Invercargill ….. Sundays….. Do not win group races…. Purdon dominated Group races….

All very well but when a stable has over 100 of the best bred ponies going around covering north and South  islands what chance for the little guy who in the past were the backbone of the industry.  
I think you will see more trainers call it a day and hence that is why we are seeing poor numbers lining up each week. Geees I can remember when Nelson used to get 120 plus nominated for a maiden race. Interesting times me thinks

With his lack of gate speed i couldn't see Got The Chocolates heading to Australia,  John and the team have been working on it and it has improved but you couldn't take on the Aussies and give them a head start, but never say never.

Guerin did not mention the start in his gushing, love fest story about Republican Party. He's in love with the horse, making all sorts of claims. I couldn't read all of it, shocking writing.
So, it seems, that no one on course saw a thing wrong with the start, but those watching at home saw the start shambles and presumed a false start would be called? It's a bloody disgrace old mate. For the first time in memory I did not have a bet on the Auckland Cup meeting so poor were the fields. After last night, I will be reluctant to bet at Auckland ever again. Shambles!

You clearly are Oz centric in the majority of your posts. NZ Harness is doing it really tough, they as CMN consistently points out spend more than they earn. Clue, we all know how that eventually ends.
Running small fields for 10+K is unsustainable in NZ. It's clearly in the numbers that punters here won't bet on them hence lower income for HRNZ to distribute and further losses
If you see it any other way then sobeit.

Auckland cup was just an embarrassment. From the quality of the field to the shambles of a start to the borefest for most of the race. Thank god Akuta got close to make it a bit of a race

Well we got the race the field and meeting deserved.  Snorefest. Carter probably went too slow allowing them to get into it. All i can say is thank god the Aussies come to Addington
