Currently Counties races 12 times a year, with 1 big day that makes money when weather is right.  We lose money each year.  Traditionally CRC has sold land to extends the lifeline.  However we all know we cannot carry on like this.
What CRC has is land that has been recently rezoned to mixed business.  A merger with ARC would provide funds to develop this land rather than selling it and provide future income.
CRC would then invest in training facilities with aim of having up to 300 horses trained oncourse.  In our opinion it is essential that there is a northern training facility for the future of the sport.
This is purely about NZ racing having a future, and a substaniable bright one.

Very interesting prospect if it happened.
She would be a 6-y-o mare if she came to Europe but both MAGICAL and ENABLE were still winning Group 1 races at that age. We know she goes on soft Australian turf but how would be go on Parisian Heavy? If it came up decent, she could run really well - on a line through ADDEYBB and MAGICAL she would have every right to be a big player at 2000-2400m races.

Be one of the quicker run two milers for a change, ticknover 3.17, made it tough for back runners to make ground, think back in the day media puzzle clocked 3.16 and change
 
 
 
 

Good to see Verry Ellegant run a good 3200m. A lot of people thought that she might struggle to get the distance. I agree that 2000-2400m is probably best for her. She ran in a very settled manner but quite a way back in the field most of the way. She got a decent check turning for home but still got out and ran on well. Would not have beaten the winner without the check but may have got a place.
I read where one of the owners has suggested going over to the Arc next year. That would be exciting for NZ/Aust racing.

Must admit I've got AVD as part my top 3 but that nagging feeling he does look too obvious . The Bounding connection worries me in view of trip but he never looks to be stopping at 12 furlongs . 
I picked Verry Ellegant as last, not because I don't rate her but because she's that good . There are more big races in her , if she don't settle , ground too quick maybe,  no way is she being knocked around for 9th or 10th like some of the others may be if chance gone . She just going to cruise home once a place chance gone , if it's gone .IMHO  only have to look at how Danon Premium ran in Tenno Sho on Sunday to see VE is world class , the Autumn racing will suit her again .

By no means is that a dig, racing needs their contribution, I think they're all great representatives of racing in NZ, along with Matt Cross. But bring on cup day, after the year we've had I think it's going to be bigger and better than ever.

Guerin, The Whale and Greg have 30 years each on Cookson but the game needs someone young who cares. He knows all the participants and the form, that's a gem in this age when most trainers and drivers couldn't talk their own kids to be interested in racing.

it seems like every app want's to know your first and last name and where you're located at all times, a massive privacy breach with very little security on how they protect that information.

Passing on the torch is an important part of any successful sport, it isn't done enough.

it's a no brainer, radio shouldn't be scrapped - it should be improved.
