Riccarton didn't have one drop of rain yesterday, it was a gorgeous day down there, total comtrast to Ellerslie, where it didn't stop raining all day!!!

It is a bloody fiasco, yet again we will read a tabled report saying all under control and brighter days await
What a nonsense, time for hard decisions
Thank god I have Aussie racing

Just the way they work, you know the odds

Would have though economies of scale would have Canterbury Show more sustainable, seems like someone got their numbers wrong

5mil in a heartbeat Dave, I would think closer to 10mil given age, record and own breeding …. She will be an amazing broodmare retired at the right age, with 7 or 8 foals ahead of her
Will watch with much interest, best of the best in Australasia for some time, just a click below BC and Winx, probably a click and a half, but she is very special for sure

Agree Blue
The biggest issue is getting folk on course, without BGP the numbers would be thin
Our DNA not like Aussies at all, even the young ones over their flock to the races
Our stupid attempt to “corporatise” racing was a monstrous fail and those that left, like me, ain’t returning ….
Big big issues ahead

No expert but reason that the Ellerslie track will need the benefit of 4 seasons to settle down
The frontal bias seems not so prevalent now, which is good
I hope the track seasons to a good even surface but I would be more worried about the lack of crowds attending a bigger issue. That issue alone will stifle development.
Putting it in perspective, Flemington has 9 full time Gardner’s tending the roses, flower beds and lawn and minor maintenance. Plus they have a head track specialist with 8 staff all attending the surface the horses race on. And that’s why HQ in MLB is a superb track and always will be, the investment is there.

A wet Randwick always tests me, they come from the back and the front bias often gone
Royal Randwick, when wet, a very difficult punting venue for me, often they come from well back, from nowhere when they shouldn’t
Prefer MLB, particularly HQ which seems to play more even … wet or dry
Been to Randwick over 50 times still find it a tough gig

Sorry, I can't help you. I'm not a teacher.
But with your role at the TAB thought you would have some inside running

The Williamson’s are the pin up team for professionalism and integrity in the racing industry.
Through hard work and tremendous skill sets and a superb up bringing by Phil and Bev they are high achievers and deservedly so
They earn their success and will be a force in harness racing for many years to come
Tremendous folk

He could probably do it in a few hours a week
The Board Chair sets the tone and directs the Board to instil activity so The Chair ain’t involved on a daily basis. The various Board Members likewise aren’t involved on a daily basis but probably have more follow up between monthly Board Meetings
Very common for successful Board Chairs and Directors to have “half a dozen Directorships” so day to day involvement not a reality
Great little earners but come with responsibilitie …. Which may become personal liabilities rather than being insured against …. Mainzeal as an example

Would be interesting to compare the Auckland Cup carnival numbers to that of the NZ Cup week run by the CRC.
No comparison I would have thought
Despite the many issues CJC have they put on a good week, cannot be replicated
