winx21 got a reaction from Huey in Don't be fooled by the spin - the truth on code funding
Can some one tell me if the percentages to each code are going to be different going forward?
Hasn't gallops been subsidising the dogs and trots because of how poorly the racing act was in 2003?
I get the feeling RITA are happy to see 100 horses miss out on racing instead of putting on another meeting and having to pay out more stake money

really does look like the final nail in the coffin for the racing industry.
How does john allen get away with barely a mention in the press?
he is mainly responsible for this mess

winx21 got a reaction from Baz (NZ) in $15K all races in July
Any ideas how that might improve revenue.

You improve your returns by either cutting costs or making more money.
Why does it always have to be about increasing revenue? cutting costs is just as effective and reducing 60 million wage bill would be start along with the RIU.
Increasing revenue? more control of the TAB and we might start pushing the racing product instead of sports betting.
Outsourcing so we can give NZ racing more international exposure. Revenue will come from offshore betting markets or capturing nz punters that use overseas betting operators.
NZ is only 5 million people who are not huge punters, Its stupid do keep pushing the idea we can keep increasing our revenue from little ol NZ.
Other key of messara report is to stop political appointment's
we cannot have the john allens glenda hughes types etc making decisions.people with no racing or wagering experience

I thought waiting until July was too long - you seem to have ignored the many horses that were just back in the early stages of getting ready for a Winter season when the lockdown shut the training tracks - another 9 weeks wait for them? These horses had a spell over Summer and another spell starting in April was problematic so they have been kept in light work away from track work.

    Kept in light work where?
Horses have been spelling for 5 weeks in a paddock. thats not light work.
I cant believe the trainers association have agreed to this, it should be up to the trainer if there horse is fit enough to race.
If that's the rule what happens if a trainer tells a jockey to give it a quite one?
jockey gets hauled in front of stipes asking why they weren't more aggressive....

Will we look back in 50 years maybe 100 years as this the man who destroyed the once great industry of horse racing?
He continues to ignore the messara report and the will of the racing industry who want it implemented
what's he getting out of it? a 500k a year job for life?
The current state of the TAB is even more reason for its out sourcing yet he disagrees

trying to be positive racing has a chance here...no sport to bet on anywhere and a lot of people at home with nothing to do.
Big risk though if any jockeys get this we will be shut down, then what???
For a lot of people barely hanging on out there, will be the final nail in the coffin,If racing gets shut down for 6 months what will happen with staff track riders etc?
NZTR should be treating jockeys like kings and queens because if they get sick and have to self isolate we will be screwed

So this delay means race's partnership with provincial growth fund is at risk?

After all the promise and false hope from the messara report being implemented we are now rapidly approaching a point
of the permanent demise of the racing industry certainly in the central districts and south island.
How has it come to this?
I thought dean McKenzie peter vela and Winston were on our side?
who are we fighting against? some nameless unelected bureaucrat's from department of internal affairs?
Cannot believe they seriously suggest giving all the power to the racing minister so we can get more john allens and glenda hughes types who know nothing about racing and wagering
We give away our intellectual property for free while sports keep there's?
Can anyone tell me how much rugby, basketball etc contributed to the creation of the betting platform that we bet on those sports or did racing fund the lot?
And what is the ramifications if the tab went down the line of what's happening with Victorian tab?
What about the outsourcing of the tab? Are the really going to take on the big corporates?
Dean answered a lot of these questions saying its basically the same? really ? and does that mean what passed in 2003 was right?
I cannot see any stake increases anytime soon if ever, betting levy is only filling the gap for what was borrowed!
Sooo many questions ,feel free to answer them for me!
