  1. AUCKLAND PREVIEW- Mark Purdon I got here on Tuesday and Wednesday work went well so they should all be fit enough. ULTIMATE SNIPER worked really good this morning and from his draw he is going to be very hard to beat. ANOTHER MASTERPIECE arrived Tuesday. He looks the part and has worked well over in Sydney but has a tricky draw and I don’t think he can beat Ultimate Sniper at the moment. JESSE DUKE will go a good race too but the same applies really. SWEET ON ME and the draw ? Well if she is beaten it will be the draw that did it. A bit of pressure when you are on a warm favourite from a draw like that and you can’t really afford to be unlucky. She has an edge on AMAZING DREAM at this stage and with any luck I think she should win ULTIMATE MACHETE ? question mark ? yes still a question mark. I am not sure quite what is happening with him. His foot seems fine but he has a few issues from his younger days and you wonder if they are having an impact. ELLE MAC has been unlucky in most of her recent starts and she seems the more reliable. There will be probably be a decision on “Mate” after he goes around this week but I am looking for something better. The 2200m distance will suit her a little more than Machete too, SMOOTH DEAL is a class act and I expect him to be too smart for VIRGIL at this stage of their careers. That he hasn’t really run time yet may be true but I have no worries what he will do when that happens. KAYLA MARIE and BUBBLED UP both seem well and the small field is going to be a bonus for them. KAYLA MARIE is a G1 winner on the course and was doing well last week and may have an edge. Subsequent to this UM has been retired and AM scratched due to temperature What price Ultimate Snipe now
  2. Gone amiss and retired. Another Masterpiece out on Friday as well with a temperature
  3. Dont think he is flavour of the month at the moment. Starting to look a tad exposed in areas of governance i.e legal and HR
  4. A classic case of a well organized country club putting up the money and attracting really good even fields.Plenty of Canterbury raiders as one would expect. Should be some great punting to be had. We need that Southern guy Amati to assist us as his strike rate is superb down that way.
  5. It is explained to you when you make your bonus bet
  6. Perhaps those you refer too are not playing fair so get what they deserve. The old " Bird in the hand comes to mind"
  7. Whilst you might be right Blue im picking the reports are actually under reporting this whole issue. Lets wait and see shall we.
  8. Thats why i said it is a watch and see for now Ohokaman. Its a real mess though from the outside looking in IMHO Hows that CHCH airport hotel coming along, i heard their were some issues with it as well.
  9. Hearing strong whispers about a potential HR case at headquarters. One of the top dogs as well so who knows how far it will get or whether it is settled to the satisfaction of the complainant as is usually the case.
  10. Cant say 100% what is going to happen to investors but leaving people who are not 100% savy in property development to do this project might not have been the smartest thing IMHO. Even the best can easily come unstuck . There is mention in some circles that there were some foundation issues that may have needed to be addressed from a compliance point of view. I suppose its a watch this space type of scenario from here on in.
  11. One has to wonder if there was a farewell payout or a PG lodged.? Not unusual in many CEO departures these days
  12. But wait theres more “We have lodged an appeal over my suspension from last week after all. That was largely because our legal adviser, Matt Hammond, examined the case and recommended I take that course of action. As a result of the appeal there is a stay of proceedings which means its possible I could be driving at Alexandra Park next Saturday depending on what happens between now and then.
  13. “I wasn’t surprised he won because his work last week was so good and his gate speed was a huge asset,” says Purdon. He basically labelled it a good thing on his website based on recent work. I'm waiting to see this weeks oil for Friday especially any comment on the Sniper which seemed to go very rough approaching home turn last week and see if any. gear changes are made.
  14. So you are hearing the same sort of noise as me. If its true heads should roll big time.
  15. Im hearing all is not well at the infamous ATC. CEO gone and whispers of potential building issues. Anyone know any more
  16. Stop talking too much sense TM or the Stables and co of the world will be out in force relieving their envy
  17. This has become more and more of a topic in the last year. Obviously things are not at the optimal for the betterment of the industry as a whole but poor leadership from HRNZ and complacency from trainers has provided the drive toi initiate necessary changes
  18. The NZRB via TAB are so desperate for turnover that they are indeed a necessity Tim
  19. Get rid of the amateurs who dont know or dont abide by current HRNZ rules. Heres 2 examples from Sundays meeting at that place beginning with Waiko " Race 5 M Howard (FOR THE KITTY) [Rule 869 (2) & Whip Regs (b)] - Used whip outside of Regulations. Fined $500. Race 7 T Grant (RACHMANINOV) [Rule 849(2)] - Failed to affix the correct saddlecloth. Fined $100. The whip rules have been around for ages and he blatantly took no notice of them whilst how hard is it to put your correct number on.
  20. I have and am surprised he was so kind to you given some of your posts were completely out of line ,especially the suppression order one. A polite suggestion to you , be careful what you post in future and everyone will get on fine.
  21. I don't think it hindered matters Tim but they ran a good professional sale and im sure they will initiate more improvements in the years to come.
  22. Buy a filly , you had to put 25% up front then balance over 3 years. Others were by arrangement and would be based on your abilty to pay and previous credit record. Same as the TB code, you can ask for 30-60 days which i found was usually given. Some got even longer so they could complete syndication
  23. Whats your real problem Stables, your posts of late have not been the kindest or even close to the real deal of late. Attacking the regulars wont get you very far and i see even the owner has given you a polite warning. Are you after a red card
  24. Interesting comment Taku, he is considered the best NZ auctioneer both locally and offshore. Most vendors i have met hope he sells their horses as he gets the most out of buyers according to them. As they say though, each to their own. Auctions find the level of willing buyer/seller naturally, its just that some on the rostrum are better at it than others.
