  1. That does not surprise me one bit CP and thanks for the update. Quite a few of those were group races from memory
  2. One of the best and has been for many years. Learnt off the best and usually gets the best to steer them. Wonder how many DJB drove for him that saluted
  3. Your idea, very sound as it is , is one that has been mooted on here many times but it falls on deaf ears on most occasions with the powers at be. Not sure centralising it with breeders having a say is a good model after watching what they have done to gallops but am never afraid to be proven wrong.
  4. Fair enough. I saw it differently and having ridden and driven a few i know how they can pull themselves up in bad going but go again should another horse come along side.
  5. The Stewards report suggests otherwise as they were satisfied after talking to him that he gave the horse every chance. ENHANCE YOUR CALM - Stewards spoke with driver M Purdon as to whether he could have displayed more vigour in the early stages of the run home to establish a bigger advantage over the trailing runners. Mr Purdon explained that his gelding had travelled well throughout however did not respond as anticipated when he released the deafeners near the 200 metres. He added it was the gelding's first attempt over 2600 metres and that combined with the track conditions may have contributed to its inability to quicken when asked for an effort. Unlike his training partner Mark Purdon has never been an aggressive driver in terms of whip or rein use which is to his credit and his record suggests he gets the best out of his charges. I suppose its ironic that winning driver Bob Butt got a 5 day holiday and $500 fine for excessive use Its the same anti AS nutters who bag the likes of MP and NR when they win or lose. In that respect I must congratulate those who currently post on here and to the owner for the civilized behaviour and respect that's shown by contributors and moderators alike to others posts.
  6. to our regular contributor and RC fan Lee whose is a part owner of this fine animal. The horse did you and the stable proud last night in the Cup. I see the nutters are crowing conspiracy theories about MP's driving as per usual but your classy enough as are most on here to ignore such rubbish.
  7. Welcome back Iraklis , you've been a bit quiet lately but a SS win was always going to see you reappear. Love it
  8. Great fields put together tonight at HQ. Money's up with some even fields at attack on the punt. Best Easter Cup field for some time but as its a standing start with horses off multiple handicaps Lamb will no doubt have issues and race potentially turn in to a shambles. The Sniper is once again all the rage at 1.32 but im looking to its stable mate to race well and its the value bet.
  9. But you will continue to morph into another name to go along with your many others and abuse the privilege elsewhere. Joe Kidd being the latest on the sewer site For those of you who wanted to know what happened to this character
  10. I take it you had a very good day then FTM. You have to hand it too him , he is outstanding when it comes to Mid Canterbury form.
  11. Some of these racing administrators slash programmers could run a piss up in a brewery. Have a look at poor old Princess Tiffany, has had to be nominated for Easter Cup as no 3yr old races at premiere meeting.
  12. That might prove extremely hard to accommodate given Abernathy wins the odd race whilst Natalie and Mark have a UDR of 0.4828. I'm not sure how you can solve this riddle short of no interviews post race which would in turn see howls of derision from others. Suppose that's what mute button is for.
  13. Thanks for the explanation. Time for you to play nice and get back into the unmoderated team, perhaps?
  14. As they have been doing that for decades im surprised you had not noticed that earlier
  15. I'm sure the NZMTC is hoping she turns up with a few to spice up Australian interest in this years Jewels. Reports are that she is hoping to be here with at least one and maybe more once the dust settles after Bathurst Gold Crown racing is concluded
  16. They are now getting really desperate. Offered a mate 30 if he deposited 50. Maybe too late for many who have found better service and offerings offshore but who would know
  17. Good even fields again for this grass track meeting . Anybody got anything they fancy as im parking up for the afternoon with a healthy TAB balance I like a few that i backed last start. R3 No 4 Midnight in Memphis, sent out fav at Addington on debut after nice trial form. R6 No 7 Tiebreaker. Impressive on debut and looks to have more upside than most in this field.
  18. Time for R Donelly to take over surely?? Too many balls up as you say Everton , you hold your breath at every start hes in charge. I copped a bloody nose on Virgil but with 6 wins on the night manged to get out. Must be a coincidence but blue is the go to colour for big race success . The Slipper result was all one way for a stable as well.
  19. From the RIU report on Sunday's meeting at Motukarara . I might be wrong but didn't M Howard get a holiday recently for same offence. If so he deserves all he got but if not then this looks a touch harsh. " Suspensions: Race 6 M Howard (FOR THE KITTY) [Rule 869(2) & Whip Regs (b)] - Used whip on more occasions than permitted (3 months). Suspended from 18/03/2019 until 17/06/2019 inclusive. Fined $500.
  20. Tuesday meeting running around for less than NZ stakes and yet look how many Kiwis are racing horses over there. Latest i noticed when going through results was the ex McGrath trained Dizzy Miss Lizzy. Won its first 4 starts in NZ and apart from a Jewels placing its been ordinary since. Now in the care of T Butt it won first up winning connections 5400 before running 4th on Tuesday. OK i get that owners may be looking for a quick time for breeding purposes but most buyers have woken up to that old chestnut by now. Costs must surely be greater as well.
  21. Turkeys dont vote for Christmas comes to mind
  22. Im hearing you but whats the point of having rules that are fit for purpose {Integrity} if you dont enforce them. If you dont know the rules or dont want to abide by them then perhaps you should not be looking to be licensed
  23. TWITTER TROLLS ... GIVE IT A REST The next time racing’s twitter trolls start giving a jockey a disgraceful bake, they should think of two words. Tye Angland. It’s extremely distressing to consider the situation Angland finds himself in – he simply went to work one day to do his job and now he finds his life forever changed as a quadriplegic. I’ve always had enormous respect for jockeys – small individuals who sit on 500kg+ horses and put themselves in harm’s way every single time they are legged up on one. It was one of the reasons I kicked up for them on Racenet last year when they were fighting for a pay rise in Victoria – and my stance at the time was unpopular with many sections of the industry. Jockeys are highly paid sportspeople and – just like other highly paid sportspeople – they should rightly be subject to scrutiny and criticism when they put in a poor performance. But the amount of atrocious verbal attacks on social media I’ve seen on jockeys lately, from mostly anonymous types who hide behind fake identities and have probably lost $5 betting on a favourite, is beyond the pale. And at times it has been worse than that - Angland himself had his car vandalised by a disgruntled punter after he was beaten on Press Statement in the Group I Golden Rose in 2015. It was certainly great to see social media flooded with sympathy and well wishes for Angland when the sad news was announced the other day he was a quadriplegic. But some people need to have a good, hard look at themselves. Some of the very types that were expressing sympathy for Angland were only a day or a week earlier giving some of his riding colleagues disgracefully abusive serves for what they perceived as poor rides. It’s got to stop – there’s a huge difference between acceptable criticism and personal and foul attacks. The Racenet family wish Angland and his wife and family the very best for their future. 24. Was a ridiculous 1.04 at Tabcorp a few hours back, get better odds on Winx as they offer 1.10 or better every start
  25. Its not at all surprising and shows how good he must have been for them to carry on so long with him given his issues. The stable is having another clean out with a new lot ready to enter the system. Expect a few to be sold in the near term
