  1. Sadly like most of the current management in a position that is well out of their depth, which given past and recent results totally confirms.
  2. I posted above I didn't get the name and didn't ask for it as it would have meant nothing to me. Oh well I will bow to your superior inside information say I am wrong and look forward to seeing the new CEO who isn't Australian and also doesn't work for an Australian Corporate wagering Company.
  3. Well 'hello' obviously it's all innuendo until the actual person is named publicly. Innuendo is termed as meaning a hint eg based in Australia and currently working for a Corporate wagering Company. That innuendo is based on partial information i had to substantiate my hint. Innuendo is not based on actual fact and how one perceives to determine it's worth as to considering or not is up to the individual. George W Bush made an innuendo based on his information which was ultimately proven to have no substance so not all are finally proven correct but I will be surprised if my info was wrong. With regard to the date I did say he would be appointed a week ago. Boards sometimes inform a new CEO he has been appointed and then advise shareholders or staff at a later date so technically re he was appointed a week ago may well be the actual case.
  4. About 15 years ago one of the best ever racing administrators in Australasia was 'appointed' by the Board of the NZ TAB as it's CEO. If he hadn't been locked in a room by an Australian State Racing Board until he accepted the role as their CEO I have no doubt the Industry here would be in a far stronger financial position today had he crossed the ditch as he well intended to do until made to change his mind. I heard the same line back then from people in the Industry here who thought they had the correct info that no one had been appointed when told they were wrong. The same Australian source back then was 100% on the mark so I'm not concerned about checking the validity of it. Re-boot your satellite dish your source of info and mine are obviously way out of kilter.
  5. The info was that it is an Australian who works for a Corporate Betting Company. The actual naming will be done by RITA when they get around to doing it. I didn't get given the name and I didn't ask if the person knew as it would mean nothing to me. He said it should be announced in 24 hours but remember he is an Australian and that's one thing they do better in Aussie eg release info early on situations like this so understandable I guess the timing was out.
  6. Well at least it's only the date that I got it wrong regarding the latest CEO unlike the NZRB over the last ten or so years who got it wrong regarding the people appointed to take up the actual role. Maybe I didn't get the appointment time frame actually wrong maybe it's just the fact that as usual the NZ racing Industry doesn't exactly get kept up to date with what is exactly going on. If anyone disagrees with that they obviously (unlike myself) feel that the NZRB and now RITA are totally transparent when dealing with the NZ Racing Industry .
  7. Not much change like i say when a pleb is getting the info before its released to the Industry.,
  8. An Australian connected to an online Corporate betting Company was the word from Australia. I got told last Wednesday so thinking a pleb like me would get that info before reading about it in NZ I thought in 24 hours it must come out but obviously I gave the NZRB too much credit. I think we can all agree they are not that quick in releasing relevant Information to the Industry.
  9. this week, $1.01 it will be another Australian and only money back the NZRB will be outsourced. That's a moral.
  10. Total cringe material unfortunately. I along with my mates just do what you have to turn it off but unfortunately that just adds to the reasons why the Racing Industry is failing big time. She was employed by inept people with regard to racing so can't really expect that much from her. Someone posted the Industry needs younger people so that might be a start by replacing her with someone a lot younger.
  11. The above confidence in their new betting partners managing of risk and world class pricing algorithms didn't work out to well below. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7641115/Sportsbet-forced-pay-9million-40-disposal-saga-round-10-AFL-game.html
  12. Figures were not sensitive last year or the years before. Using a quote from a NZ TAB employee earlier this year regarding the new betting platform "the silence is deafening" https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/108406499/punter-wins-close-to-100000-on-2018-melbourne-cup-bet
  13. Yes that's true von S as you rightly say making the end result look good by using numbers. I used to do that same bull@#*t just like the TAB management are doing when I was a kid with my 'paint by number kit' to try and make people think I was better than I really was and actually knew what I was doing.
  14. turnover was? Word was at 4:00pm they were behind by $3 million. No surprise given the crap new betting platform, no free to air coverage of the race, closing of so many TAB outlets, poor advertising and clueless management all part of the reason. Turnover was down in Victoria which astute Industry people are putting down to the newly introduced consumption fee which isn't here yet but will be no doubt down the track. So much for the new betting platform increasing turnover and doubling customers ha ha as if that was ever going to happen. When the biggest race hold of the year is down by 30% plus you know things really are looking bleak for the Industry.
  15. No surprise the site is a total joke but unfortunately the outfit that sold it to the TAB is laughing not the punters.
  16. Yes totally embarrassing situation and yet they still wonder why turnover is down
  17. Exactly it was well advertised in Australia for months when the Government was seeking submissions on the law change. Not hard to set Google alerts to racing legislation changes. The NZRB has 3 lawyers god knows what they do obviously not much given the above.
  18. Nothing has changed Aussies can't bet into the NZ TAB so why would you advertise over there unless the person is clueless that there is a restriction on for Aussie punters. Maybe they have finally realised there has been a mass exodus of NZ punters who have given up on the crap betting platform here. Going to have to do a lot better than that pathetic promo to entice any of the back betting in NZ.
  19. F%^$ me thanks, I asked couple of mates to find them for me and they had no luck as well finding them. Bad news is the 3 of us obviously need glasses but the good news is we will be able to negotiate a joint discount at Spec Savers
  20. Thanks AB I found the fields okay on the TAB web site under PDF race form they were up yesterday but no idea where the Final Field odds are. They are there somewhere but where I have no idea just like the help desk person I phoned who couldn't find them either, they said they can't be up yet even though I told them they must be as you have sold an agency ticket on a selection. Maybe you can only bet early Final Field options at an agency who would know.
  21. A person who obviously had a passion for the NZ Racing Industry including punters. To think that Jetbet was developed in the early 70's with input by Campbell Moncur and 40 years later the Industry replaces part of it which only belongs back at that time.
  22. someone please inform me how to locate Final Field markets for Ashburton Trot Group races on Monday. I realise that this is a galloping forum but the process to locate final field NZ odds for meetings not listed on the main menu days headings must apply to both codes. I know the markets are open as a mate had a bet at an outlet on one of the races. $50,000,000 plus spent on an abomination of a betting platform that should be a total embarrassment to whoever the buffoons were that approved and developed it. The bloody thing has only 4 days at a time listed in the day menu so any early markets that come out 5 or 6 days prior to the raceday don't appear and it becomes a mission to find them. It would be easier to find Wally or Wally's as you wouldn't have to look far as you only have to begin at Head Office of the TAB in Jackson Street. Remembering that this nightmare was sold to the Industry and Punters as been easier and quicker to use. I remember one clown coming on here saying that it was only old people who couldn't use it, $#%K me how can you use something when you can't find it. 1 click in the past to go to markets like I am looking for when it was the old bet site now you click half dozen times and still can't find what your looking for. How %$%^en hard would it have been to list 6 days on the main menu to make your customers use of the site easier, no doubt the mugs who designed and approved it had no clues that final field markets sometimes come out 6 days prior to the meeting. You ever heard the saying 'they wouldn't know what day of the week it was' well that couldn't apply better than with this TAB outfit. Go back to the old site add cashout and it becomes a far better platform to use for all concerned and would leave the new one where it belongs 'obsolete'.
  23. Yes Leggy a totally insane situation. Some serious questions need to and asked and on this occasion I have no doubt they will be. The DIA apparently also knows more than Australia who based on the same requirements requiring their anti money laundering laws and racing wagering concerning it have a $10,000 and above amount to investigate. Imagine Aussie punters and the outcry if they had to contend with a pathetic 1k capping. You think they would have looked at Aussies requirements and straight away one with half a brain would realise dropping 900% less than them wouldn't work. All you would be doing is pissing off TAB customers and causing tons load more work to enforce it. And the rest they say is now history.
  24. De Minimis Threshold (DMT) DIA guidance proposes to deal with the forming of a business relationship for retail and on course settings using a de minimis threshold (DMT), meaning that until a threshold is reached, there are no AML/CFT obligations attached to that transaction14. These transactions can be via cash, voucher or electronic payment methods. DIA has assessed a DMT amount of $1,000 to be appropriate in these circumstances. This means any transaction at or above $1,000 will attract full AML/ CFT obligations. The transaction will include any money deposited by a customer to make a bet as well as any prize money or voucher that is returned to a customer that is over the DMT. The DMT does not have a cumulative effect, meaning the threshold is applied to a single transaction that is at, or above $1,000, and is not as a result of cumulative or linked transactions that add up to the DMT. Regardless of the DMT if the NZRB notices anything suspicious about particular transactions or activities you must submit an SAR to the FIU. We 100% agree with your comments. This “rule” resulted from government Anti-Money Laundering (AML) changes that came into effect on 1 August and not from TAB policy or the like. We lobbied hard for the limit to be higher - ideally more closely aligned with Australia however we weren’t successful at the time. We can assure you that we are actively working with the Ministers Office and also the Department of Internal Affairs, who oversee these matters, to encourage change. \ https://www.dia.govt.nz/diawebsite.nsf/Files/AML-CFT-Guidance-for-NZRB/$file/AML-CFT-NZ-Racing-Board.pdf #$%^ me so the DIA on their own accord assessed the figure to be $1,000 rather than the 10k legislated figure. So RITA lobbied hard for the limit to be higher, no you would lobby for the figure to be the 10k allowed for under the Act. just lobby for the figure to be the $10,000. How the $#^% could you not be successful when RITA was set-up by the Racing Minister whose role as Minister is to ensure that the regulatory settings support the racing industry to flourish. The Department of Internal Affairs supports the Racing Minister by providing policy advice and support through the legislative process. Great to see two areas that are overseen by Mr Peters working against each other. The Racing Minister should have told the DIA the figure is $10,000 and the purpose of your sole existence is to ensure that legislated Acts concerning the Racing Industry are adhaerd to your purpose is not to change them. The DIA have zero knowledge of racing Industry and its gambling customers and come up with a rediculous figure set at 10% of the stipulated Act amount. So they know more than RITA and consider themselves above a legislated Act and will determine themselves what the threshold will be. I can't help but repeat myself but $#^&* me this is the Organisation assisting RITA to get the Racing Industry back on track.
