what a fucken disgrace! So many injuries today and dogs in clear air. Goodbye greyhound racing with these clowns in charge. That last broken hock, the dog was in clear air. Disgusting! Don't be shocked if today's meeting makes the news!

You're delusional. Trials are the most important aspect for getting a dog fit. Sounding less and less like a trainer imo. Especially when you are defending a man with a proven bad record

It is the end of an era I guess. Many of us who grew up watching the dogs the past 30 years would be use to Trevor Wilkes and Peter Early commentating.

Another wonderful display on tv 3 news of a squeeky clean industry. So glad that the participants and people running the sports heads arent all the sand

While I'm really grumpy, the whole industry needs looking at including some presenters who front our TV audience. Not all require the mute button, but the Rosanowski show does .. non stop waffle about every statistical snippet he can find about each runner that leaves 99% of viewers totally confused, and his continual praise of the Lisa Cole kennel, actually who is Lisa Cole ? I have never seen her on Trackside. And Rosanowskis race commentaries are below par. Unfortunately he drags Pip Morris ( I agree totally with everything you have said Rozzo) down the same path. And there is no reason for her commentating because she can't, so dont make her. She has a place on Trackside being her own person presenting and is quite a good tipster but don't whatever you do bore us to death like Rosanowski. Trevor while a little irritating is quite a step up from Rosanowski, Aaron White is pretty good, Justin is different but ok. 

Premier meeting today, Auckland Cup and Railway, and Trackside coverage consists of Pip Morris presenting out of what sounds like a tunnel, all muffled. Surely they could have got someone on course ?? I know greyhounds are the 3rd cog off the bench ... but really !! ... WTF do NZGRA actually do to promote the sport ??

Never seen this before - greyhound disqualified from 3rd in R10 at Invercargill today after jumping from wrong box.   
It was dog #10 and should have jumped from box 8 as listed, but jumped from box 5.  Head on replay of the start shows the #10 board had been put over the 5 box, so not just a case of handler loading into wrong box.
Not great for those who backed this dog to place or in trifectas & first 4s.  Not great for those who backed the favourite thinking it has an empty box on its inside.

Most people in the industry are as naive as grnz so im not surprised this is the end result 
Everytime i make a suggestion regarding any issue, people either at the track or on here push back and say nothing needs to change and that there isnt a problem or its a problem to big to solve.
Its been clear since 2013 that this industry will struggle to reach 2023 and it very well may not with the current direction its going in.
Regardless of stats, greyhound racing in new zealand has a poor standing in the publics eye and i cant see anything changing in a year that grnz couldnt have started changing 10 years ago

You do realise the meetings he calls at are mainly dominated by Cole runners named big time right?  Therefore, when talking about the upcoming race & commentary it would be silly if we didn't hear big time a lot. "Hey Mark, sorry mate but you are mentioning Cole & big time too much. Please talk about how blue the sky is today". 

Palliser isnt paid to do it though... she clearly isnt very good at it yet. She may improve in the future. Who knows.

Easier for trainers to train sprinters than it is to train 500m+ dogs. It's the sad reality of racing in NZ today

People in this industry are naive. Having worked outside of the industry, most people think the industry is already closed and many find greyhound racing a repulsive sport, to the point where I don't discuss any of my dealings within the industry with people.
I sure hope they don't enquire into where all these dogs being bred that aren't put through gap or make it to the track go because this will be the undoing of racing.
I've Said it in here plenty of times but no one even wants to acknowledge that there's a problem that needs to be rectified. Everyone defends the people that do this.

What are people's thoughts on the new review into the welfare and safety of racing dogs? 
Will be interesting to see the outcomes of this.
Surely mass breeding will be under the microscope this time id imagine.
