  1. It is true that they were doing boxed trials as I have since spoken to a witness. As such, this is shambolic from the club as the outline provided from RITA around being allowed to start trialling so soon is provided here: https://www.rita.org.nz/new-zealand-racing-prepares-resume While good progress has been made, officials are still finalising Greyhound Racing NZ's (GRNZ) approval for participants to prepare for handslip trials from Tuesday, and confirmation of these protocols is expected to be confirmed early next week. No new directive has come from anyone in authority that boxed trials were allowed so this is a serious breach of the rules from where I am sitting and a potential setback to the commencement of greyhound racing in general. If these people cannot follow simple rules like this, how will they follow the stricter raceday rules?
  2. Not according to the policies document GTNZ have distributed
  3. I read on the other forum they were doing trials out of the boxes at Christchurch today. Are these retards for real? Hand slips are all that has been allowed thus far and if they cant even follow simple rules like this, the industry will be lucky if it isnt shut down within a week
  4. I don't know where you are getting your Information but from what I am seeing in studies and journals thus far, this is most certainly not a 'Normal' flu. While its true the most vulnerable are the ones dying from Covid-19, there are other symptoms showing in younger people and people in their middle years that have been very worrying. Some of these include blood clotting in the bigger valves in peoples bodies and causing strokes, inflammation of internal organs etc. One of the more interesting studies done recently has shown that less than 5% of people who have recovered are showing signs of anti bodies which is also strange. Its also apparent that the damage done to the lungs is not normal. Even in patience with little to no symptoms. Its more likely you are taking one or two unqualified peoples opinions instead of what the majority of research thus far is showing. FYI, you could double the amount of people infected and the percent of people needing medical treatment in hospitals would still be far higher than normal/
  5. Havent used NZ Tab for years now. Not only do I normally get fairly better prices on fixed odds, I find betting agencies have better incentives in Australia to use them than the NZ TAB
  6. Especially when there is talk about entry fees.
  7. From field numbers, I'd imagine more trainers would prefer Auckland than cambridge
  8. You can rule out racing continuing under level 3 by the sounds of it. I doubt any racing will continue until late june
  9. I think you will find travel restrictions under a level 3 model are very similar to a level 4 model with a little bit more leniency around why you are allowed to go out. However, it is entirely reasonable that some places with more cases may remain under stricter lockdown rules like Auckland and the waikato. If the traveling restrictions were still in place, someone from te kanawhata or even te awamutu cannot travel to cambridge
  10. If the travel restrictions are the same as they are now. How many people would live within a 30km radius of cambridge?
  11. I've heard stake will be cut hard in NZ due to former problems between grnz and nzrb ontop of the covid 19 issues. The future looks rather grim for greyhound racing in nz.
  12. Itd be suicide if they closed cambridge and left Auckland the sole track in the northern region with the lease nearing its end. If they did close Auckland, whatd happen to all the circle dogs up north? I wonder if they would be allowed to do at cambridge what some places have in aus with two track circuits
  13. There goes racing in NZ. No way will it continue after today
  14. This is an issue for all codes. I doubt racing will be allowed to continue after today with 36 new cases. I see ferry's are restricting travel between the islands, so are domestic flights. I'd be surprised if racing is considered an essential gathering aswell. There have also been cases overseas now where covid-19 has been transferred from people to animals. As for testing the entire industry. Thatd be impossible. We only have the capacity to do 1500 a day and if we follow other trends. We will end up being short of test kits
  15. Yes, it would be very risky for anyone to spend money setting up a kennels in NZ right now, especially up North where racing longterm is no longer a certainty. (Tbf, it isnt a certainty long term anywhere) I'm sure the Cole case when it gets concluded will make the industry look bad aswell.
  16. Who? Are they based up North?
  17. No I do not sorry I doubt hes having that much of a big affect on northern racing. I think it stems down to people retiring from the sport and numbers dwindling up north. In the last 5 years, Steve Clark's numbers have cut back, Craiks do not seem to be racing many dogs now, Schofields are gone, alot of smaller trainers like mike martin have cut back to 1 or 2 or even given the game away, some others have passed or are now to sick to train a small team. Up and coming trainers like james black and halley mullane have also stopped training and very few new trainers have filled this void. It appears peter ferguson and jared Udy have upped their numbers but they still havent filled this large void in the northern region that's there and I've only seen a handful of new trainers appear up north. Numbers were already dwindling prior to this aswell.
  18. Manukau sports bowl is zoned for future residential and I am pretty sure the lease expires around 2025.
  19. When you turn your head away purposely away from the lure, you have just failed to pursue the lure. Pursue literally means to follow or chase. If your head is turned, that means you are folowing something else at that moment. especially when its in the opposite direction of the lure LOL
  20. Are you daft? The moment his head turned to the right, he failed to pursue the lure for that moment as he was looking elsewhere I.e. not pursuing the lure. Pretty straightforward I thought. Nothing more to discuss really Saying "what If the rule did not exist?" Is just as stupid as implying he did not fail to pursue because the rule does exist just for this type of scenario. I'm sure connections are gutted as would anyone be in this situation but rules are clear. Winning a race by 5L doesn't wipe clean the fact the dogs head turned right for those few moments.
  21. The dog turned its head to the right. The rules are their to stop this
  22. I am unsure. I believe all the cases in palmerston north have been pushed back due to some accident. I'm sure someone has better knowledge of what happened
  23. Select trick - buddy boom - seve Pinky Mack - Dyna Dave - Ringside
  24. I havent seen his races prior but I'd presume the silent lure at Auckland and first look probably caught him out
  25. Turning your head is a turnoff the head. Does not matter how harsh it is. Especially if his head went right
