  1. Ring the bells last race tonight, congratulations on a stellar career on both sides of the Tasman! Enjoy your retirement old boy. Will he be standing at stud here in NZ?
  2. GOM how do you police this, I was once in a syndicate of a dog that had bad eye sight (can’t remember what it was called) so the trainer was careful to only race her in the day time, under your suggestion she not be nominated when the time changed due to the trainer having already nominated other dogs for the meeting? If the Noms are reopened in any code then it’s only fair that they are opened for one and all - who are you to try to name and shame when no one is doing anything wrong! You are right Flabby that Walsh didn’t add any dogs to the heats, I know this because they advertised which races were redrawn and those two heats weren’t!
  3. Nor have I apart from the initial obvious comment “she must have rocks in her head for getting involved “ I haven’t heard her mentioned at all.
  4. On the contrary GOM, my source is a member of the RIU, no reason for them to lie...
  5. But hang on a minute GOM, i was told by a very reliable source that when this all went down and Dennis pointed the finger of blame directly at his son that he was told he would have to choose between removing his son from the property or removing the dogs, he chose to keep the dogs with out hesitation. I would be disappointed under the circumstances if the RIU didn’t require this to be done. Therefore Dennis is the one who chose the dogs and had his son removed not a “bloody minded pursuit” by anyone else in my opinion.
  6. Fantastic race! I backed the winner so may be slightly biased Having said that I have since watched the replay a few times and am very relieved TTE stepped out in front of Dusty on the home turn as he was swooping passed at a great rate, looked like he was about to put 6/8L on them but instead lost 5-6 - momentum withstanding!! Cyborg was shuffled back a few lengths early in the race so was also hindered which could have resulted in a different result. I couldn’t find too many excuses for the beaten runners behind them so I think that even though the first 3 placings could have finished in a different order they were the best 3 there so deserved the spoils! My pocket is very pleased it was RTB’s day
  7. Generally I don’t give a flying duck who trains the dogs Houndy, I don’t know the guy and I never bet on his dogs but I have had (for me) a substantial bet in the collar final so think the trainer change for Trip to eden should be public.
  8. Thanks for that Gary, with futures betting open for the silver collar I think a change of trainer should be made public - Trip to eden is a class dog & I for one would climb on to the value should a trainer of the ilk of Fayhey or Adcock take it over!
  9. You seem to be in the know mouse, so does that mean Pam will be training the dogs from the 8th? P.s who is Pam? Schofield’s wife?
  10. Hi Crazy Jack, your cheapest option for a pet dog would be a human treadmill, as seen on Cesar Millan
  11. It will happen straight away if Pam Schofield is granted a license, she also lives 110km away! A lot of questions will be asked by applicants that haven’t been granted licenses due to following correct processes if she can get one!!! Come on NZGRA, give this industry some credibility!
  12. Fabulous, she sure was a special performer on the tracks, great to hear she has thrown some of her quality into her pups!
  13. We do know all the facts Lindsay, unfortunately it has been extremely bad press for all the rule abiding people within the industry. Greyhound racing is in a very fragile position due to very few people who have let the rest down, the sooner these people are weeded out the better. Denis knew the risk he was taking when he took a trainers licence out in his own name, for his son to continue to train under because his son had had his revoked, this is fraudulent and deceptive - unfortunately the RIU dropped the ball not straightening this out earlier, if they had the whole industry wouldn’t be in front of the firing squad yet again.
  14. I’m assuming that the reason he got off so lightly for such a serious drug is because it is Seniors first offence, given all the mitigating circumstances ie that he admitted to not being the trainer and leaving the dogs in the care of questionable character I am fairly surprised it wasn’t much longer, I wouldn’t be surprised if he got more now that he has appealed.
  15. I’d like to think that if I falsely put my name down as trainer so that my son who had had an meth positive and his license revoked could continue to train dogs, knowing full well the risk that entailed ....I would take it as a fail and cope it like a man.
  16. That’s a romantic notion Emotive but having just seen the tv1 news Dennis looks to be throwing his son under the bus!! Blaming him to gain sympathy for himself doesn’t seem to noble to me!
  17. Will be interesting to see if another “Trainer name” is risked under the same arrangement or whether honest procedures are followed and the dogs are dispersed to another trainer/trainers
  18. I would say he is drowning in involvement, he fraudulently took out a trainers license then drove off leaving the dogs to be trained by someone else entirely. He is Solely responsible for what happens to those dogs.
  19. Totally agree Jimbob, An absolute disgrace, Mr Schofield clearly admits to not training the dogs leaving them in the care of his son who has had a positive AND his license revoked! A second inquiry should be opened into this as it is completely fraudulent and flys in the face of Mr Schofield’s apparent claim of honesty and integrity - clearly he has neither!
  20. I can’t agree with you Joe, I thought cyborg was a very progressive run for its second ever 700m run,I thought the heat run might knock it but it went better in the final, making ground on the winner. Auckland is its home track and the track where it has gone some slashers! I think the collar is right up its alley !!
  21. Ring the bell Cristiane Cyborg Dusty Gambler
  22. Ya gotta wonder what the heck takes so long!!
  23. Thanks Jason, I don’t get the magazine but I heard at the track today it is a methamphetamine positive - do the police get involved when an illegal substance like this is found? I didn’t find out the who but am very interested in the handling and outcome! makes you wonder how long it will remain secret.....
  24. I see there has been 1 positive swab in greyhounds this year but I can not work out where I can read the who/when/where of it, can someone please guide me??
  25. The only saving grace as a punter was the the commentary continued
