Not sure G Trip rating 117 after that win. L Flare 107. Winner carried 57.5 to win cup last year. Is at 58.5 now. Before Saturday I would have laughed at the idea of a repeat. The way he let down though....got to be some sort of shot. L Flare - was one of those 'better than it looked' runs when you think about distance and MC weight.

Lunar Flare and Gold Trip side by side at the 450...one goes out, one goes in and that was all she wrote. L Flare was pickin up well at the end of the race - perhaps more like a 3200 m race? Got to admit, since Green Moon and Protectionist I have been quite focused on the Turnball in terms of MC hopes.

Certainly an encouraging win today. Havent seen the sectionals but last 6/400 but must have been good.

Great comp. Very fair. My picks in comp align with my punt - so highs and lows! EG yday I backed Springtide and Sharpnsmart in Tarzino (Stide 4th unlucky), but also Young Werther....:) It is hard to please everyone but this comp surely comes close..

Top hoop. What was the name of the horse she got injured on, Trentham I think, Telegraph? Dragon Tiger? It took her a while to come back from that. I loved the way she rode Mufhasa too - often like he was the best horse in the race....which he often was!

The single pick option is a 'winner' in my view. As an E/W punter it aligns much more with the conundrum of finding ONE horse you think might run top three. It makes it more interesting for sure.
