Great racing track , great views of racing and landscape , paddock , birdcage area nice , some of the facilities not the best but been to worse , to be honest I'd go racing and watch on a grass mound and have done many times in past . It's a worry if it don't survive . Hopefully there is a quid pro quo in this transaction .

Be very interesting to see reasoning CC , I hope CJC get some form of cut from prizemoney from Guineas to fund a new feature race or rejig meeting and boost funds on something first day . Problem is also how many northerners truck down other runners with their Classic horse . May not be financially worthwhile bringing a marginal half chance runner down so will lose a few . Hopefully it's just one year , or its a bit of a carve up . On bright side , less northerners more money for SI horses if the meeting holds up . We need to get along as much as we can to Riccarton , put the annoyance of average facilities to one side and support the place . It's chicken feed I know but put an honesty box at gate so the hardcore racegoers can chip something in on way in and more on way out on good day to keep place ticking over through tough times .

Might not have been updated on website so they may be gone but Go Racing still have plenty on offer shares wise .

The old double up name confusion .Oops . Just rechecked my memory for dates and how it worked as was a few years ago. On 17th September 1996 there were two meetings in UK .One at Sandown Park , one at Yarmouth . Both cracking courses . Anyway first race Yarmouth was won by horse called Tart at 15/8 , last race Sandown was won by horse called Tart at 11/2 . The classic double , always back two horses in a double running the same day named the same . It is system that shows a profit . One Tart was French bred the other Tart was British bred , both 93 foals .

Surprised a few geldings from a Wexford clear out sold on Gavelhouse , one a pensioner but all have ability .Went for ok prices all things considered .Maybe there will be some green shoots of recovery , fingers crossed . Hope those buying now get all the luck they deserve with purchases for keeping going . Good on them .

After week one results are one stopped the rest collects , at least 5 without scrolling through . It was also found that by labelling them the stopping effect blew out the price a bit but in fact gave the horses a right old fashion drill sergeant style kick up arse double tap march . Even the subject matter of experiment, CT found a winner at 3.20 that battled on hard to line as if to say "fxxk it " I will survive . I have to say iam only using an old childhood kids Lab, the old one with a smiley kid and dad on box watching a bunson burner in living room but the residue left ter my burn off shows " stopping " effect from period midnight Saturday to 7pm NZ time today to be not in operation . Ran a good race I thought Swooper , drawn out wide came home hard from back for 5th of 13 , SP 91s . Longer trip next up won't be 91s that's for sure .

And another tick Rusty , nice .We need another hot pot certain wobbler shorter price the better when you get a chance , ask the tab to do a bonus where you can request shorter odds than they offering that way the stopping forces put out need maximum pressure to work .

Great work Gruff , top notch . Got be honest 3 year old up against hardened runners I was worried but it busted home hahaha. This stopping lark has been tough to do last few days, it's all straight to window shut the gate. Great stuff . Hi Swoopa , Ex Te Akau but drawn wide, second up from spell and OM put that Boom Boom Becker up last time and he was home in half a stride so looks good today , almost a winner without a penalty job. He will get a win out of Faltonius at some point , run had some merit first up from spell , might throw a coin on for insurance as will ruin my it wins or places and I've missed it . That race Hanaki Warrior in has got me beat all ends up, who's turn is it race that one , I've put line through it as just cannot decide . Have half a look at his 105 start maiden next up ran ok last week , there's plenty slower horses than that one , I honestly can see it nabbing one . Good luck to Bryce today .

The Yanks do a bit of Dutch betting , two for the win in one race , a lot of merit in covering the bank via a saver or each way even at less than evens the place . BGP are a good twenty 20 batsman, they swung for boundary in last bet last week I see and put it out park , got out trouble , this week caught on ropes , that's their MO I suppose . Not for me , each to their own . Hopefully the people hooked in a good way moderate within means punting . I like they put a warning up , good on them . Losing it all a good thing for newbies , a healthy dose of reality early .

I've stopped plenty to be honest , was just testing mine , and others stoppability rating for a while , so far so good today , OM next up getting fitted for the town stocks with Skelm at Stawell. More test cases the better . Thank God for OZ racing still on , iam starting to get into the dustbowl stuff as well , mind you I stopped Scrabble in the last at Charlevelle yesterday .

No worries Swampfox, if you find one in next week or so I will chuck it in the specimen dish with the others .
