You're blaming Labour for a Race Cafe poster confusing the announcement date when starting this thread? I know Labour do tend to overreach, but that's taking it to a new level

There is no way they are going to release anything but good news at NZB the day before a sale.  Stake rises across the board.  Minimum stakes to get close to $20K and all group races etc raised significantly.

Should have done a deal with TAB Corp Australia to share the cost of software development and maintenance. Changed the useless Board and restructured the management. Something is very wrong in that whoever is appointed. They all seem to be from “other” industries and when they come on board, flounder and run the place into the ground. It only seems to take each new group 5 or 6 years and they need another bailout. 
They simply need to employ people who know the game of racing and gambling and have a brain. It’s not rocket science and with geo blocking it should be even easier. 
Having said that the new people, the board and the government seem to be buying into the “gambling is harm” regimen. That’s like Ford saying you shouldn’t buy and drive a car because 500 people a year die on our roads and you could be the next one.

It IS really sad to lose another of the colourful characters who helped make Racing the Great Game it is/was.
Remembering Nigel rode when there were 20 Group 1 jockeys riding on any given day.
And there would be 5 or 6 waiting in the jockeys room while a race was run.
You had to fight and cajole your way through the ranks if you wanted to make it. 
Great N B Holland story, I once said to my hero D J Riordan that Norm was such a lovely gentleman.
"Now he is but when we were riding he was an absolute ****
Us apprentices would ride a nice horse and Norm would be straight to the Trainer, "O that horse needs a senior rider, and I'm available next start""
Looks like ND survived one of NB's best.
Nigel as a trainer will always be remembered for the feats of the tiny gutsy Avitt.
The Our Waverley Star story had slipped my mind , that's a story in itself ..

Some initial assistance from the upfront cash injection should allow NZTR to maintain current stakes for next season certainly and perhaps replenish reserves. However, the guaranteed $150m per year is actually less than the FY22 distribution of $140m once you take off the $15m pokie money that currently funds the RIB, so I don't see any extra money unless Entain can outperform the minimum guarantee.

After listening to McKinnon on the radio this morning I believe he needs to check his facts as he said that Cardy was leased . I always thought he was sold to Stanley and Jody is the only owner that is still alive and she told me today that she gave her permission to exhume and shift the late great Cardy

I have read all your comments and what you are saying is that the horse wasn’t allowed to race on its merits. (Pulled up in other words)
If you really believe that, put a complaint into the Racing Integrity Bureau. 
When you get the official response/report please post it here.
Then we will know if we are dealing with fact or fiction.

This was brought up on the Weigh In a couple weeks back when only 3 of our top 15 jockeys from the premiership were available to ride.  It meant if you had a 15 horse race at both meetings on the Saturday, you would potentially have riders ranked 45-50 on a premier race day.  Possibly worse if you consider both meetings were North Island based. 
I note the Riccarton stewards report on Saturday had another 5 suspended and 3 fined, but Tauherenikau yesterday had a clean sheet no suspensions/fines/warnings.  This quite often happens when comparing two meetings.  Can we be sure the stewards are policing and penalising jockeys consistently across the country?
