Dad , Graeme , Grandfather Bill.
Really great guy , will be sadly missed by many

In gallops , jockeys get stood down and referred to the Riding Master ala Sam Wynne , who hasn't been seen on track since and the Khetoo kid who was pretty pretty bad at Ascot Park.
Maybe kid needs to swallow some pride and talk to his mentors.

Surely he’d be the best wouldn’t he ?
I can’t think of a better on, DJ maybe, Gibbsy, Jimmy Tomkinson……maybe equal but none better IMV
He just does extraordinary things every week

Understand your frustration Tony.
Hope Sarah is Ok , she was getting carved up all day .
Hope she's ok for her Wedding next Saturday, thoughts are really with her in that respect also.
Yes Katie came in but Asano was the main culprit, from the rail to centre track without any attempt to straighten. If Kate gets 4 weeks , Kozzi should get 8 weeks.
I see Laking got 9 days for a brush while pushing out on a horse that wasn't going to figure in the finish , and a fine.
Allpress got 5 days on Stumpy for another brush, not great riding but suspensions surely not commensurate with the crimes.
Gotta say the stipes and system seem totally inept.

I want Stick McKee as a presenter
Is it that hard to get retired industry experts ?
Australia is full of them
Don't let Steve McKee anywhere near Trackside.
A pointless exercise.
If he's not in line to chair NZTR , he should be sticking to the radio show....

Berri , before you start slagging off Presenters , learn how to spell properly pal.
It must be a tough gig dealing with approx 400 horse/dog names in a 4/5 hour shift.
Your comments resonate of someone who Trackside have taken no notice over many years.
Get that spelling right first old son before anyone takes you seriously.

Must be getting dyslexic !
Yes that is the main Rd too so you're a lucky boy !
Some great names coming forth ..

Crusty,
Really really sad to hear about the passing of Des Riordan today.
As a youngster he was my hero alongside his foreman,(and Dad) Mike Claydon
Like you said Crusty , Mateland, Mannix , Heflu, Grizzly Arralucca, Set, Ocean Monarch , Bonnybard, Le Fripon the half brother to Le Filou, Gaydrill, Wattle and how about Grasshopper, Des's last winner as a trainer, D A Peake , from a mile last at Te Rapa, gets up down the outside fence when Te Rapa used to be a bog .
And all the advice he had for his great mate Jim Mouat who trained Danzapride.
Mind you I had a heap of advice over the years as well and yes Des , it worked !!
Noel ( Il Tempo), Johnny(JP) Sailing Home and Summer Regent who won a Cox Plate and then there was Des, Rider of Baby Dakar and Keith and trackwork rider of MAINBRACE ..
Des trained Grizzly to win the George Adams Tattersalls(Now the Thorndon Mile) on the 1st day and then Grizzly and brother Noel come out and win the Telegraph on the last day !
Absolute Legend and an absolute gentleman, looked after everybody he could in Te Awamutu and the Waikato in everybody;'s later years
RIP Des

Ditto, TM...
I always remember Peter's call on the Wellington Cup that Il Tempo won:
'And here's Il Tempo bursting through the middle ... Il Tempo goes up on the inside of Highland Rebel, goes to the lead ... Il Tempo, oh what a terrific horse this is ... Il Tempo's won the money...'

Will the stipes let poor old Swanny ride at Wanganui ?
Surely he's way to old to be competitive.
Love the bloke but how many rides has he had in the last 10 years.
Think Bingwa has a few wins in her ,hopefully Swanny can be the man to nail those wins ....

This is why our racing is stuffed...it is a shyte track has been for years, but they forced Stratford to close, and trying hard to get rid of Hawera and Waverley and the New Plymouth club does not even own the land the club is on...come on FFS people need to stand up and say enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!! But once again nobody will be made answer for anything...they will just add more fat cats to the trough and feel good about the shyte job they are doing. When will there be someone employed with a knowledge and an interest in racing to fix this utter shambles...no wonder people are leaving in droves to Aussie..horses and trainers.
You pretty much wrote my sentiments. Everyone please understand this: New Plymouth is not up to scratch. Pure and simple.
I've had 2 people ask me today to put something on here about what a joke this is. One a "small-time" daily punter who the TAB completely ignores because he's not a big-noter like farcical organisations like BGP etc; the other a prominent North Island participant in the industry who can not believe how these mistakes keep happening.
Big Noter ? Like BGP ?
Fark me, I've been in this game a lot longer than you sunshine and the the BGP seems to be run by decent down to earth people and is probably one of the most amazing things I've seen in my lifetime in Racing.
A similarity to the on course Jackpot days.
One of their 1st Punters Clubs garnered over $250k , the TAB should have sacked their whole marketing Dept right there and then !
Don't worry the TAB ignore me and I spend plenty with the arseholes, can't even watch a trial video on their mammoth website that cost $2. Surely that's what it cost ..
Chill man , get on board and cheer home Iff I Get Paid ( another amazing initiative) in the 1st at Ellerslie.
No financial interest to me at all but I will be cheering it on.
Looked a bit green 1st up but hopefully OP can steer her home

Yes that's ridiculous. Not much use having a whip rule with the penalty only half the riding fee. You can only expect further breaches to occur whatever the rule is.
And don't be surprised if the Owners didn't chip in just $1k each , as part of the Sling of course..
Group 1 win , I know I would be

What time did Blue Blood run back in the 70s.
Remembering they used to write the time on a blackboard.
With hand timing of the same Group 1 last Saturday, things have really come a long way .....

Interesting scenario if Levante was beaten by say Eptimum , Ocean Point or Live Drama under the same circumstances, would we be viewing this case a lot more vehemently ?
This is going to blow up badly one day.
What if one of Roch'N'Horses connections at home rings through and says Elliot broke the whip rules so put in a protest.
If they are going to live by this rule why didn't the stipes blow the siren or is it something that's looked at well after the race ?
Maybe all clear shouldn't be given until all the placegetters whip count is in ?
Just seems it's such a half arsed rule.
The big tough stipes suspending and fining jockeys well after the race because they can , yet so far off the ball when it comes to real time.
If Ken got beat and someone told him to protest over whip strikes, the stipes and RIB would shit their pants.
From now on ,if you get beaten in a relatively tight finish , I'd ask to view the film and stipes can count the whip strikes .
This is going to end badly one day.
And it won't be in a R65 for the lucrative sum of $12k
