  1. I think stewy had a string of very good trotters, remember one called waipouamu , not sure about fab, there were others, but i remembers those green colours , he was famous at that time, love those days.
  2. Bruce sherwin is an excellant race broadcaster , very much sounds like david raphael , or he may of learnt from him,not sure, but he knows how to call a race, and what is expected, i guess it comes from his time off shore , gambling ,and his clear knowledge of race horses, we are lucky to have him from time to time, would like to hear him more, jason teaz is another , there are three or five race broadcasters at the moment who know there stuff, and not shy in putting there tips on the line, thats what i like, they have a go, course you cant get it right all the time , surely you woulnt expect them too, thats gambling, its very hard following form, there are so many races , so its good hearing those tips that sometimes come off , cross has a go, and can call a race , i like him because he has good intentions, we all no that other peoples tips loose from time to times, but there are tips you can back up on, perhaps double up on if you like, you no at some time they win, so i say good on them,,, mark mac , cross , teaze ,sherwin , i like them, like jockeys and drivers , sometimes you get something wrong. for me personally i dont like callers like arron white, to hear the nic names of drivers constantly throughout a race gets up my nose, for me he needs to just call the race , yes dont mind hearing drivers names from time to time, but white has this thing about wizzards , magic man , it goes on and on if you get my drift, i just like to hear the race. Have a good day guys.
  3. Ben will be a great driver , he takes riskes ,around christmas he drove a couple of winners at addington, they were fantastic drives on his dads horses, took off down the back, and never looked back, reminded me of a young peter jones ,cant remember who they were , those two he drove at addington. drivers and jockeys have split seconds to make decisions , sometimes you get it right, other times its wrong , make no mistake , he is a real tallent, and you will see the best from him one day, how could he not with a family like he has, and a grand dad to boot, i bluey , he cant go wrong, hes lucky he has some good junior drivers around at the moment , seems like they are all doing well. If you are a punter , there are always moments where you wish a driver or jockey could of done it different, thats gambling as they say, listen to steve davis and just turn the page.
  4. i remember george shand ripping mighty gay round the feild in the ashburton cup , { grass } and took off and won by panels, had some speed he did
  5. to be some what fair, ive just read some of mr big stuff, and comments from Brett , it sounded personal . and its spilt on this , sad really if thats the case
  6. further to that hi foyal stuff, i remember p c { paul gallagher } driving him at addington, paul was out of washdyke i think, trained a few around the road to the track , could go on and on on this stuff, the great days of broadcasters like marshall , matheson , murther, bill cherry was there.
  7. no, but you guys were too tough on him
  8. thats amazing you brinning back this stuff , robalan was a free legged pacer owned by bluey hope , father of greg , it brings back some great days of pacing , i can still hear reg clap calling hi foyal into second in that race , thanks for the memories
  9. who has , with respect , you seem to sit back and play mind games with others, if you are referring to brett , why dont you say so ,from what i seen , and im new but been watching , he had some decent stuff to say, could of said it better, and toned it down , but most of it came from experiences id say. how ever you and others seemed to have rid of him for good.
