  1. “Hopefully now the greedy bastard will let her enjoy her retirement.” Could not have said it any better thanks Scooby. She deserves so much better than BS as an owner.

  4. The Daily Telegraph Gilbert Gardiner James McDonald is on the path to becoming the greatest Group 1-winning jockey ever after a day of domination at Caulfield. Group 1 hoarder James McDonald's domination of Victorian feature races continued at Caulfield with a treble, including the $3m Caulfield Guineas and $1m Might And Power Stakes. With the wins McDonald, 30, who was also runner-up in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap, moved to 70 top-class successes in front of 17,162 people. Hall of Fame jockey and Group 1 record-holder Damien Oliver had 57 Group 1s by his 30th birthday. Oliver won his 127th last season to eclipse the great George Moore's mark of 126. McDonald's Group 1 double on Saturday has taken his season tally to five, including three with Anamoe. The champion Sydney jockey has banked 36 Group 1s the past five seasons alone. The haul includes seven Victorian Group 1s from his past 15 starters, including the Melbourne Cup, Coolmore Stud Stakes, Mackinnon Stakes, VRC Sprint and Black Caviar Lightning Stakes. After a slow start at Caulfield on Saturday, unplaced in his first two rides, McDonald finished third in the Herbert Power Stakes on Desert Icon before winning the next three races in succession. Paulele, Anamoe and Golden Mile sealed a running treble for McDonald and Godolphin trainer James Cummings. McDonald rounded out the card with a pair of second placings. Grateful Cummings spoke highly about the in-demand McDonald. "Top rider and he's in full confidence and he's about to have an extra mouth to feed and there's nothing like that for a bit of motivation," Cummings said. "He's at the top of his game and he's a pleasure to deal with but he's in-demand to, he's ridden for all the best trainers the past 10 years. "He seems the type of young rider, from my experience, to learn from them (trainers) as well and he's got a good feel for horses and where they're going, how to look after them." McDonald's pregnant fiancee Katie Mallyon is due to give birth on November 8. "I hope it hasn't brought the baby on as she'll be jumping for joy," McDonald said. "She's a massive part. Mum's at home with Katelyn. Her parents are a great support as is brother Tod, Mark Guest who does my rides and helps me with my form. "There's a group of us. I swing my leg over and they're all very proud of what we do. It's not without them being in my corner." McDonald's breathtaking ride on Anamoe, helping the champion around the tricky Caulfield bend, in the Group 1 Might And Power wowed Godolphin Australia boss Vin Cox. "I thought we were gone but again, J-Mac had it under control and the horse just digs deep," Cox said. Cox said McDonald's ability to "read the play" sets him apart. "He lands in the right spot. If things don't work out for him, he finds a better spot and he gets his horses to hit the line really and obviously he's got a really good sense of timing about him," Cox said. "He's got a sixth sense in terms of what is going to pan out in front of him and dare I say he's a crystal ball reader, he can see what is going to happen. "He has been an extremely good jockey from a young age and now he's really coming into his own. "He's still relatively very young and the future is his oyster, what he can achieve is frightening. "He's an outstanding character, a wonderful ambassador for racing and a true champion."

  15. Racing.Com Tim Yeatman Injured jockey Michael Walker has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility as he continues his long recovery after a horrific fall at the Pakenham jumpouts earlier in August. The 38-year-old was airlifted to hospital and placed in an induced coma for several days after suffering severe head injuries and he says his recovery is painstakingly slow. "I'm in the rehab centre now, the rehab is a process of getting me going again, I'm pretty flat," Walker said. "I'm a fair way off being who I was before the fall. Whether it's physically or mentally I'm just getting the rehab done. I'm doing well enough." Initial scans cleared Walker of any internal or spinal injuries, but the popular rider says he is still in significant discomfort and has zero recollection of the incident. "I'm in a lot of pain, my back is absolutely killing me," Walker said. "I'm actually trying to walk around as much as I can because it actually makes my back feel better, every time I lay down it's pretty painful. "Whenever I've had head injuries before, even when I've got knocked out, I've remembered everything, whereas this one I remember nothing. "I don't remember the morning, don't remember who I was speaking to, don't remember the fall - any of it." Walker said the staff at Epworth have been a great support network as he continues along his road to recovery. "The Epworth is an amazing place, amazing people, they are doing a great job in caring for me," Walker said.
