  1. Stodge, did you see Cinderella's Dream in the Meydan 1000 Guineas? Saddle slipped, rider William Buick kicked off his irons at 600m, just hung on for dear life and won by 4 lengths. Any word on her starting in English 1000 Guineas? Ladbrokes had her at 17/1. Looks a pretty good filly.
  2. Something strange went on there alright. Numbers 2,3, 7 and 9 were paying way less for a place in comparison to win divi, than they should have been. And horses 8 and 10 paying way more for a place than a win, which is almost unheard of. 180 000 place pool to 22 000 win pool is very unusual. But even if 2,3, 7 and 9 had big bets for a place, doesnt explain why 4. 5 and 6 prices were about right. $160 000 discrepency there. Last race of the day. In the bar. Some drunken punter puts $40 a place on roughies 2, 3, 7, 9. But makes a small error and enters $40000 a place on each? Should have gone to Specsavers?
  3. It hasn't rained here in Otaki for 3 weeks. 1mm last night, Thats not rain. How much irrigation did they put on? Desert Lightning wanted to scratch cause too wet. Horses coming out to middle of track. Ridiculous. Rain wasn't forecast till Saturday night. If they couldn't get a good track today, they never will. How many million litres of water went on the track. Don't tell Wellington, just down the road. They are on water restrictions. We should be racing on Good 3 this time of year like Melbourne every week
  4. Waller started in Foxton. Baker originally from Woodville. Anythings possible, Both fine fine places
  5. The slip was on a dry part of the track wide out on a bend. Not a place where horses would usually be in summer racing. Probably rationing the irrigation water allocation? Or just cant get enough water. Sometimes there not enough down there. Or too hard to get Resource Consent for more.?
  6. 11 Stolen Decree came right across Madame Giselle at the 200m. He had to put the brakes on to avoid falling. Dont know if Madame Giselle had that much left anyhow
  7. I find it annoying how the presenters on Trackside make such a big deal after the 1st then 2nd race about what part of the track is best to run on. Today at Pukekohe, saying it was too wet on the inside, had to go out wide. Almost putting words in jockeys mouths in interviews after the race, saying they would surely have to come down the outside later. I think Warren Kennedy disregarded that, not all his winners came wide. The thing is, speaking to the punters, what can we possibly do about it anyhow. Where does it say on the TAB sheet where certain jockeys are going to run down the home straight. We cant tell the jockeys I'm only going to back you if you come down a certain part of the track. Owners/trainers might throw them off if they dont follow instructions, but to the ordinary punter, what is the point of even going on about it? Ok. I could find the mute button, but I like to hear what the trainers/jockeys say after the race. K whinge over.
  8. Two starts back, the winner raced in the Queensland Derby over 2400m. Railway winner would never have had that lead up before.
  9. Wondering if anyone else does the same as me. If I put bets on in the morning, try and do something constructive during the day, then come home and watch my selections on Loveracing. Its much quicker than recording the whole days racing on Trackside. But, I dont want to see the result before I see the video. For the excitement of the finish, to see how my money went down the drain, or even to see the thrill of actually picking a winner. If I am very careful I can avoid seeing the result beforehand, but isnt there someway we can click video without seeing the result? Racing.com(Victorian replays) are worse, actually puts winner on preview line which is really annoying. NSW videos are best, only show result of 1st race. Great we are able to see these videos anyhow. Compared to what we had 40 years ago. Well, no videos, just listening to them on the radio
  10. In regards to Sam Cane's yellow card against the Springboks, where is the back of the maul? Where is the entry point to the maul where you wont get penalised? I would have thought it was parallel to your own tryline. Others say it is behind your own men in the maul. It cant be, because if the maul screws as it did against the Springboks, the opposition team is free charging straight at your tryline. I cannot see how Sam Cane was offside in that situation. Trying to find clarity before the World Cup
  11. I was just using that as an example of a similar situation where an organisation or government sponsors/subsidises an entity, then controls it. I dont see the need for it in the TABs case or Raceform. Are we all going to start a Neds account because of seeing their name. Geoblocking coming, because of the Ladbrokes $100 million bribe, so what are they worried about
  12. Observing the names of races at Caulfield today in the Raceform and TAB website, race 7, The Caulfield Stakes, a G3 over 1100m. I thought the Caulfield Stakes was a time honoured Group One over 2000m in October. But the races real name is The Neds Quezette Stakes. Same in race 10, The Caulfield Hcp is really The Take It To Neds Level. Its pathetic that the TAB does this and Raceform. Do they start panicking when the Ladbroke starting stalls are in full view of punters when on the screen from Melbourne. Raceform sold its soul, just like Stuff and NZME sold its soul to Ardern for $55million.
  13. I just wish the commentators would pronounce it right. Its one of the highest mountains on the Tour de France. Pronounced Mon Von Two
  14. Thanks for that, Ponderosa. All works good thru Loveracing.nz now. I had loveracing.co.nz bookmarked
