whats he going to do about went back to let clubs look after their own meetings . nztr have got it wrong
The problem is THEY DO !!! NZTR has no say in the preparation of the track The responsibility is solely with the club - and again they got it wrong

Are you trying to be funny Tripple? The state of RACE is dire.
The Dunstan qualifier should go back to the Levin meeting. Maybe send the Eulogy Stakes their way at the same time.
And the other horses trying to qualify in the rating 75 2200 today now miss out - the Stella Artois series is toast for anyone trying to qualify today - the race is only 2 weeks away

The glitches appear to have been rectified, as thought would be. Great publication, many thanks to Dennis and team.
Has the font in the form section improved this week ? Last week it honestly looked all fuzzy and we had a new glasses script It all merged together and very hard to follow

Aidan Rodley said it like it was on trackside - if the trackside crew were in the room with masks on how was it any different than interviewing a jockey after the race or the now groups of 200!!! allowed in a room anywhere else on course with no masks etc
Excluding trackside didn’t make sense and like all said added to the theatre

Well I guess that the “new” track manager whoever he or she is, got it all wrong.
Remember Mark Biddle is now gone now, so the “panel of experts now in control” obviously still have a bit to learn!
I am going to watch with interest as Mark in my opinion, was unfairly made a scapegoat.
LizIncorrect I believe Mark has remained until the end of carnival

Anyone know one of the jockeys who rode there. I would like to hear their view.
I don't think that the fence was off at all!
It was well off - you only needed to see those that dared to go there - stopped like they had been shot - Walking the track and it’s all chipped up and much much wetter

Congratulations to Trackside, got the divvies on the last to the screen 15-20 mins after the race finished, by gee a way to annoy people, hope the Pitman horse is ok.
Pretty sad post when divvies are your biggest complaint when someone has lost their horse - and the jockey was also dealing with the aftermath of that
From Stipes report
MACKENZIE LAD (D Montes de Oca) - There was a delay to the All-clear following the race due to the rider taking some time to return to weigh in.

How pathetic is it that we cannot have an accurate time for a time honoured Group 1!! Not recorded by hand, but electronically. Reminds me of a three legged sack race at the Christmas Party for Mums and daughters……………..
Our accurate distance
More so Found that today they found the race was 11 metres
Race 8 JR & N BERKETT TELEGRAPH (G1) 1200
Stewards inquired into the time of this race. It was found that the barriers had been positioned approximately 11 metres forward of the 1200 metre start at the 3200 metre start, which was not clearly marked. Stewards reminded Starter G Philips of his obligation with regard to ensuring that the barriers are positioned at the correct start point for each race -

The gap between the starting stalls and the end of the 1200 metre chute seemed to me to be bigger than it has been in the past.
Confirmed today as 11 metres bigger

It's definitely one of the fastest 1200s in the world and partly as p4p says because it's downhill. Pretty simple job for someone to go for a stroll with a GPS device and confirm the distance is correct.
More so Leggy that today they found the race was 11 metres too short

It’s not dissimilar to how they treat Magic Johnson
Some from within the racing administration want him rubbed out forever, admittedly not many but that dodgy nurse they use to monitor licensees is one of them, and even Blair Orange is said to be very much In the sights of the head of the RIU who says he wants Orange rubbed out of the game forever
My view is that good licensees are very valuable industry assets and they should be protected and supported at all costs, if that’s reasonably possible
Define a good licensee ? You surely can’t call Jason that ? What employer would retain an employee for drug positives - threatening to kill and wilful damage - would be instant dismissive in most workplaces ?
You can only help someone who wants to be helped

See the net was cast in the South Island again today - catching a couple
A number of riders underwent drug and alcohol testing with J Laking being stood down from his riding engagements after returning a non-negative result. C Campbell was also stood down following Race 6 after returning a nonnegative result. Replacement riders are as detailed in the Summary.
Question as to how Corey Campbell was not picked up until Race 6 - riding in races 1, 2, 5 and 6??

So what sort of reading are we talking here? Was it on his breath? Was he half cut? ... goes to show how good he is beating the sober ones
Thats actually not that funny - if there had been an accident what would have been said then. There are rules for a reason - many high risk industries have a zero tolerance for alcohol, and a 24 hour clear rule - expecting a jockey to present at the races with a limit below 100 at 12pm raceday is not unreasonable - the rules clearly state it.
Many standard workplace drug and alcohol policies enforce six unannounced random tests to an employee who has undergone drug or alcohol rehabilitation.
-
Would it not be expected that drug and alcohol testing would be conducted prior to the first race of the day? Chris Johnson stood down today after failing a breath alcohol screening test after having ridden in Race 1?

@Just Looking there's no legislation passed in NZ re Masks & a little common sense goes a long way. What's going on is a repeat of Dr Lance Jennings conflict of interests when he promoted Kleenex Tissues in schools....for which he was to a degree investigated...an investigation that needs to be reopened...
If people who are unwell stay home it's just like when people have influenza one stays at home and uses a handkerchief....
The majority of people are healthy & should be out & about enjoying our great outdoors.
We all want racing to continue & help the economy.
Again commonsense goes a long way in life
I suggest you just stay home maskless and out of my way
I need to earn a living from racing and you obviously don’t

Remember the wearing of a face covering is only "advice", it's not passed in Legislation.
Would be helpful if people at NZTR read Govt.UK legislation relating to Facecoverings, including rights to exemptions ....
It's on Govt.UK website & freely available to read, pays to know your rights & remember Rule of Law
And NZTR can make their own health and safety measures on top of legislation to allow racing to continue
I would suggest unless you have that exemption from a doctor and presented to stipendary stewards you will not be allowed on course
At the end of the day we are trying to maintain racing so that we can be working and earning -

The announcement of a level 3 lockdown for Auckland for 3 days with Auckland travel restrictions would have to put the Ruakaka races in serious doubt For Saturday
