The worrying thing is there are numerous locations across the country far worse.
We have moved into a cafe society and many of these clubs are stuck in 1990s NZ & they wonder why patrons stay home.
Attending on course today is far more than just the racing, people want to be entertained and that’s with food choice also, esp on premier days. Mid week a cold pie and soogy chips are passable, but group1 racing Saturdays, no way.

It may have been an omen from the heavens when I went out this morning and found the new front tyre on the car was punctured.  Congratulations to Team Kaki who handed us (Team Kotuku) a good drubbing today, as we remain win-less. I also learned another valuable lesson about doing selections. Don't do them when you haven't slept for 27 hours! I swear Zulfiger (who I had in my original Friday night picks) was scratched when I looked at that race this morning so I put in a sub and then watched Zulfiger win of course. Seeing things. Time to go to the optician (or get some sleep) methinks. Well done to my stablemates Zak and Floyd for carrying me today.  There's only one way to go from here lads. Keep the faith!
