The mares last 6 mating's have produced progeny that have been double Danzig so maybe a good chance to try something different, with not a large budget looking to breed to duplicate influential broodmares may be a good way to press (would be interesting as the 2nd dam of Sweeping Success is Show Lady and the 3rd dam of EOH is Show Lady) , therefore Echoes Of Heaven at a cheap fee may be a good option

Absolute utter rubbish. You are talking through the wrong hole. Cape Blanco given every chance. The problem is that Galileo is not really a sire of sires as 31 group one winning colts have gone to stud with Teofilo being the best.
Tavistock started with average mares and proved he could produce champions.

Looks like it was a very quiet year for freshman sires standing in 2014.
Only 2 commercial sires on the list, One had major issues with fertility in his first season and the other was a true stayer and best at 2400m and further. Both ended up with reasonably small numbers of foals on the ground.
Would have to say Shamexpress hot favourite.
I would suggest the winner by first season individual winners this season would only need 2 individual winners to get the title and will most likely be crowned champion first season sire by earnings also.
On a side note it looks like Windsor have rectified Shamexpress' fertility levels some what, still not great but much improved from his first season which is great news

Exactly Rhodesy. Danzig over Danzig has been a disaster.
While someone may point out a success they don't point out the other 999 out of a 1000 that fail.
Buffering was by Mossman. Danzig free!!!!!!!
If you have a Danzig line mare then send her to a sire without it.

There was very heavy rain the night before and some small amounts of water pooling on the inside track, as Shane mentioned earlier, very heavy rain so it was great that it went ahead on the course proper.
The back straight is the best part of the course proper and that's were the jump outs took place.
The inside track has been used for jump outs before but recently was decided it wasn't ready for official trials for whatever reason (Troy Harris and Vinny Colgan rode at them)
Will the inside track ever be ready/suitable for official trials who would know, there is some conjecture around the tight turn as horses are finishing galloping , this may be an issue but I guess it's still a wait and see, the inside track has not been given clearance as a trials track yet.

Totally disagree here, Cape Blanco has been given every chance, not all stallions can be successful and he certainly hasn't been so far.
In his 3 seasons in NZ he served 310 mares and of very good quality also, top race mares as well as breeders, both from Hogan's broodmare band and outside breeders.
Not all stallions are successful, and in this case it hasn't been through lack of opportunities in NZ

Showcasing is quite small and does tend to leave quite small progeny. They can run fast though (sprinting types) and have big hearts so it depends what you are trying to breed

Pencarrow bred him and shared in ownership of the horse, would guess his new job once recovered will be as a nanny to the young stock at Pencarrow.

Spyro, the surface isn't that flash nowadays, as they have not kept up with the sand slitting that was done a good few years ago now. I spoke with the stipes and they told me they couldn't get to the 1400m mark to place the barriers as the tractor wasn't powerful enough to get them there. Couldnt get traction!
This is a joke and once again, why were we not informed earlier, rather than wasting money to get there, another NZ racing joke! I wasnt told until a fellow trainer informed me.
I am not sure what float company you use, but Ruakaka is not that dear from Cambridge.
I am reluctant to go to Ruakaka as it usually turns out to be a benefit day for local trainers, and good on them, as they have to travel to all other destinations.
As i have said so many times before, why do we have to drive past the best track in NZ through the winter, when it should have a surface we can race on every second Saturday!
Come on Ellerslie, all this money you have in the bank, use it to get a decent track!

Stab me in the eye,  the racing on them from Aus is as boring as batshit. I hope like fark we never make the mistake of wasting bucket loads of cash on a track like Canberra/Devonport.
Spends the millions creating 2 or 3 much needed quality turf tracks rather than batshit racing.

More on type than pedigree. Very powerful type like his sire Siyouni. Great forearm and shoulder with a cracking square arse. I don't get raved up about Dr Fong who was a smart racehorse from a nice sireline, and second dam by Kris, who was a serious racehorse and well bred but for a miler, seemed to slow things down.  Siyouni's are generally better fillies than colts but this guy is smart.
Someone in NZ should try to secure Darbrism for stud

You make some good points Berri.  But one of the major reasons there are no NZ sires in the top-20 is our stallions don't have the runners there compared to the Aus stallions who are serving massive broodmare numbers. Snitzel and Sebring have had over 300 runners in Aus this season - Iffraaj has had 27 !
But I totally agree we need lots more 1400-1600m 2yr old races and decent staying races with decent stakes. Not Chalmers Handicaps for $30k.

Savabeel was a winner and G1 placed at 2, was WFA placed at G1 level at 1400m at 3, and a Cox Plate winner at 3.
On record Preferment has no Group form under 2000m,( 8 attempts at Group level under a mile for no placings), this is where I believe the two differ considerably.
There's no doubt he raced on to long which has affected his record.
But pedigree wise has plenty going on through the damline and has a very good page. Ticks a lot of boxes pedigree wise for sure.
Will he be well supported? Im not sure?, A lot of well credentialed 1st season/2nd season sires around. Tivaci/Turn Me Loose/Rageese/Mongolian Khan/Tarzino/Complacent/Contributer/Sweynesse/Puccini (similarly overraced when out of form)/Vanbrugh/Vespa
Is there enough mares around to give all these stallions a chance, where is Preferments support going to come from?

Absolutely agree here in the mid to later part of his career, you might be more in the loop ?, a year ago was the asking price just being to high the only reason of no interest from studs? Because he was clearly on the market .

Probably stood him at to higher fee really last spring and has had fertility issues.
Overall record isn't great but does have the ability to sire decent horses for sure.
Windsor have looked to invest more in their own stallions than the shuttlers in recent times

Prime example of Te Akau being in bed with many others within the industry , how can you take this seriously or in its own account with KFE at Te Rapa.
This is not a Te Akau witch hunt just fact, and it's not just them within NZ that have mixed investments/motives on different topics.
