Ferlax only ended up with 51 live foals so similar to Shamexpress and obviously a few have went overseas.
These first season stallions working off small books. Then again Power was first season champion sire in NZ by individual winners and prize money last season and he only had 52 live foals.

NZ Record is horrendous especially when taking out Prom Queen.
Prom Queen did a super job as a 2yo and 3yo but without her:
21 runners (that have had a total of 98 starts) for 2 winners and a total of $53,530 (from 98 starts), 9.5% winners to runners in NZ without Prom Queen in the mix
In Australia has had the 6 runners for 5 winners, none yet at black type level but 4 of the 5 have been city performers.
So obviously can leave a handy'ish' horse but a whole lot of rubbish!, the majority of the handy ones are for whatever reason are in Australia
Overall stats are only very ordinary 32 runners to race for 28% winners to runners, 3% Stakes winners to runners. he has been well supported and got good numbers so no excuses for a stallion at his level, some work to do and likely that his numbers served will continue to decrease as they have tended to over the years

Grunt bred on a similar pattern (not quite as close) in terms of inbreeding to superior females.
By O’Reilly and out of a mare that traces back to Hunza (O’Reillys family)
Would love a NZ stud to make a play for him, the sons of O’Reilly are doing a job (Alamosa, Shamexpress, Sacred Falls to come)

Can you please put up the pedigree of the Derby winner Masar.
By a son of Galileo (New Approach) and from the dam line of Galileo, so a cross of the great mare Urban Sea!

War Decree looks like a worthy replacement. From the same very good female family as Postponed

War Decree has been announced to stand at Inglewood Stud as a replacement for Zacinto (Kevin Hickman heavily involved in the ownership also of this new stallion)
A G2 and G3 winner by War Front out of a Street Cry mare, standing for $6,500

Good luck to them, hope he can have the same success Zacinto has given them.

Fair point on data but.....   I would suggest a much more competitive stallion market now, lack of truly dominant stallions (Snitzel the exception last couple of years, amazing seasons!), as well as the concept of shuttling stallions taking off more, another factor to take into consideration is that these top Australian stallions are serving 200-220 mares a season!, very hard to compete with that especially at distances 1600m and below.
Savabeel has sired G1 winners of the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Vinery Stakes, Turnbull Stakes, Queensland Oaks, Victoria Derby, Champagne Stakes, Queensland Derby so doing a very good job in Australia and all at a distance of at least 1600m.
Other stats in Australia are 70% winners to runners and 8.2 stakes winners to runners, the game and the stallion market has changed so much since Sir Tristram's days, but does emphaisse what a remarkable job these stallions from the same line have done! )through in Lonhro now and Pierro into the future)

No doubt it has a part to play, but buyers would not be buying fillies that were 'no good' for that kind of money, they harbour serious racing ambitions and rightfully so.
They have massive residual value but are being brought to be racehorses first and foremost and have every chance to be competitive in Group races at 1600m and further especially within their age group.
There is no doubt the colts have performed better than the fillies (not disputing that, facts don't lie)  but to say they are no good is very harsh when they are running at 9.7% stakes performers to runners. He just needs to get some photos on the wall instead of placings with the good Oaks/Group 3yo fillies he is producing (Milsean, Harlow Gold, Imperial Lass etc)

Absolutely, very ignorant breeders that are breeding horses at that level to sell, doesnt make sense.
Breeding to race a different story.

We arent talking about a high profile stallion entering a major stud here! , and im not advocating he would be a success at all , just applauding that breeders have an opportunity on a cheap stallion that has some credentials.
No mention of South Island programming/racing etc, conpletely different topic.
A group winning son of Fastnet Rock out of a Galileo mare from a good family that has form around true G1 horses.
He is standing for $3,000 in the South Island!, South Island breeders dont have access to high profile stallions and are unlikely to, this guy gives a good option at the price especially for breed to racers.
It’s a good thing for the breeders that these options are standing in the South Island, choice is good for breeders and after the initial success from standing in the South Island of Highly Recommended , this new stallion may have some appeal to some.

6 stakes performers from those 51 runners is a solid effort (11.7% stakes performers to runners in NZ & AUS)
A lot of work to do as obviously a lot of runners that have shown nothing though to make out the stats, so a big gap between the handy ones and the rest.
Hopefully can boost those percentages, has had big sized books and good quality so has been given every chance, up to him now.

For sure....but what I can't understand,  for the life of me,  is why  [ supposedly ]  commercial breeders would spend money on travelling poorly-prepared and conformed horses to try and sell in the first place?
I commented yesterday on a youngster working itself to a frazzle  in its box,  to be told ' oh,  it's never been in a box before '  ....wtf?
Bloodstock agents and many trainers are buying for the overseas market in a lot of cases,  Asia and Australia,  where stabling 24/7 is the norm.
    What is wrong with people?
    What do they expect?
White Robe horses were,  as always, standouts.

Moderate start, has only had 30 runners and only 9 winners have come from that (1 stakes horse in Prom Queen)
His australian winners have won several races which is promising,
He was always going to do it tough with his profile.

Not bad season stats are they, just lacking those high profile horses this season (Gift Of Power winning age group races without the big ones this year)
Can leave a handy horse and has done off modest service fees and smallish books, his crop of current weanlings are from his biggest book by far , so a bit to come you would suggest.

Power is Coolmore owned and was a shuttler, new Owners/Plumptre have decided he doesnt fit with maybe Burgundy fitting the profile Power has.
They also have their 2 domestic G1 horses in the wings they have brought into, both are 0/2 in Australia.

You could tell what you were getting at, maybe you should have used a better example than Tavistock at this years sales (i can think of many of them)
Because in regards to this years sales of a 15k service fee, amazing stats.
Would be some stallion for all breeders to cover costs on all horses going to sales, I believe with sales the biggest issue is mare owners over breeding and spending to much on service fees on moderately performed/bred mares, asking to potentially lose money.
