  1. While what you have written has some merit... But what your 'right wing blinkers' so denies you seeing and cognize is the 'Elephant in the Room' which is the falling disposable income of the NZ (and World) Working Class... nothing you have suggested will address that Fact! While I have your attention! you also so need to grasp this FACT... your style of Politics is septic! poisonous! boarding on cancerist... the Key to running any successful ongoing political campaign is to 'unite around commonalities', that is what happened around 'fair tax'... can this happen in the NZ Racing Industry??? as there is such a 'heterogeneous' reality in play! I very much doubt it... what I do know, is that you might have a important role to play in addressing the serious problem, but its 'odds on' your personal flaws will get in the way... History has shown that be so, so far..... "can a Leopard change their spots" To finish! before you fly off the wall and start with the insults! remember that one day I will be standing in front of you in person! I can't wait for that to happen! can't wait to see your 'genius' in person! one day eh!!!
  2. nope! the Decline of Disposable Income of the Working Class in NZ 1976-2016
  3. Like the above comments me and Stuie go back decades.... what wasn't mentioned was his keen interest in 'cue sports'... talking 'races' I've enjoyed many dry comment from him in the press box... long may he remain on this side of life!
  4. 100% agree with your thrust.... but. Speaking personally, would any sane punter be betting into pools where you have take out rates such as Quins 21% Trifectas, First 4, Doubles, Treble 25% Pick 6 26%, Place 6 at 27% I struggle with the thought of going into Win and Place with their 15.50%... I've mentioned how in my past I use to run a betting game (Kelly Pool) that took 20% out of the Pool, it was almost embarrassing how much the house 'won'... You know the Odd$! Now beat them!!!! (as he drags his arse out of the building...)
  5. Hence, as the Industry slowly continues down its 'sunset path' (Miss) Leaders are forced to use Procedural Politics (using more and more PR, setting up Meetings that never take in or act Criticism... always changing Key Players -how many great leaders have there been in the last 20 years?)... this sort of 'politics' only leads to a deep demoralization of most at the 'coal face'.... 'we' are well along this path....
  6. Having a stab at answering that..... Coz it makes them look like they are making Progress... it gives them something to measure against... it keeps them all busy! Also, re that Golden Goose, that only really worked when the Working Class had a reasonable about of disposable income... you can chart to the decline (talking mid 70's, the start of Noe-Liberalism, which first started off with the USA Ruling Class attacking the strong Unions there, it quickly followed into NZ,) of betting with the decline of rising real wagers... they go together... That FACT is just about always missing with any analysis of 'the problems' of NZ Racing Industry...
  7. He's on Planet Entitlement... to get to that place! you need to be getting $700.000 a year! at least.... a key requirement is you must present with a SMARMY SMILE and be as Patronizing as can be... Planet Entitlement is only there for special people! eh John!
  8. by chance the cables have been laid in our Street last week! (we live 3ks from Uni, its been a long wait!), but not to sure when we will be able to connect up to them... even then! I'm so poisoned by 'things nz racing' I very much doubt I will be betting on there 'product', to tainted for me.... sigh! can't believe how 'bitter and twisted' I've become! of something I have held so dear.... very pessimist going forward, depression-ally so... ps. I still owe you a reply to you other post! have had Window10 computer problems... back up and running now and will comment on that post tonight!
  9. I presume you are taking the piss with that comment! they are to Racing History what Bishop T is to Christianity...
  10. there was Union Coverage/membership in the past for some of these workers... hopefully that have a exit package for the workers...
  11. sigh.... I stream a lot... at certain times, like when school gets out, or on the weekend around 5pm it all slows down.... just about totally given up on NZTAB... though! having said all that! Fiber has just been laid in our street, it will be interesting to see what happens then!
  12. I agree... to me the challenge re Racing in NZ is how to manage the decline... as against the ever propaganda from Head Office of 'getting bigger'..... speaking as a 'punter', I've given up trying... as I think the 'betting taxes' are vulgar and I can on see them getting worse... there is a saying "at least Ned Kelly had a gun when he robbed you".. NZTAB does it by promoting more and more bets that have obscene taxes... it doesn't matter to the 'once a year' 'holiday punter', but it just bleeds out anyone that fronts up to bet regularly... hence Racing is a Sunset Industry, sometimes you get what you deserve.... sadly so...
  13. being on that side of the ditch zelda, you have most probably been spared hearing a million times the TAB's annoying jingle of "You no the odds! now beat them"... lol, when some did actually do that! their ability to bet was negated...
  14. I'm sure that most of the time these 'investigators' are like your average copper, bored shitless and with very little to do.... it allows them plenty of time to 'brew their personal prejudice' which then will sometimes burst asunder when given a chance.... as can be seen here with this case.... the standard response when 'authority' is every challenged on subjects like this is 'if you haven't done anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about....'
