“Lose to Win” Entry thread - One day competition, Saturday 4 December. The rules are pretty simple, pick 1 horse in each race from the whole card at Matamata and Trentham that you think will LOSE…. so basically a Losers Get Laid type comp. The Scoring: We simply divide $100 by the closing price of your selection on the NZ tote. (e.g.. if your selection is paying $3.40 and it DOESN’T WIN, your points will be $100 divided by $3.40 = 29.41 points. If your selection happens to wins the race, you will receive a 50 point deduction. You are allowed 4 Best Bets for the day where you will as usual get double points, however, if a BB selection wins the race then you will receive a 100 point deduction. If you are unlucky enough to pick 4 winners throughout the day, you will be eliminated from the competition. Comp closes: 12.15pm Saturday. Please post in the race order shown with the horse number. Based on your history of picks in the comp I was expecting to see $400 EW on a $20 shot. I notice the TAB shows its now raining down there so hope it doesnt get too bad by 4.30pm as its best form seems to be on Easy tracks although it has won in Soft. Good Luck

I got my old Excel spreadsheet into action again. and went into the Racing Victoria website... Over the carnival he rode 24 horses into stake bearing placings for total prize money of A$9,009,075. His 5% of that comes to A$450,453.75 (ignoring the riding fees). Congratulation to James, well deserved..... no idea what the OZ tax man will take of that but will be an ouch moment for sure..
