  1. I think they are getting ready for the gymnastics at the Olympics , and they look a chance with their moves .
  2. Well you are , just as long as it's a positive negative .
  3. Don't worry about soft , if they get the rain that is forecast it is going to get very interesting , especially with the amount of sand that has gone on .
  4. Who can forget that Australian cup win , had a will to win that few horses have . A gorgeous example of the thoroughbred . One of my all time favorite racehorses .

    Help!

Looks like a bit of the kick back from the Ellerslie track .
  6. But when you look at history it is very believable . I simply believe nothing in this industry until it's fact .
  7. I would suggest that most in management are self interest welfare advocates first .
  8. Well they're going to get a test on Saturday , rain over the next 3 days with some heavy , especially Saturday . This is the true test of a strathayr track , will be interesting to see how the surface handles the racing with rain on the day .
  9. To be at the center of the action , it is pretty boring in the CD .
  10. Yeah but you missed him and came back early , easier said than done .
  11. Perhaps follow the Strathayr advice to the T from the beginning rather than try and reinvent the wheel , that would have been the smart move . But the industry has been known to pull the trigger before removing the gun from the holster .
  12. The umbilical cord between the CD and north of Taupo is getting stretched pretty tight , the SI is hanging on by it's nails . Relevance in NZ racing is going to be dictated by postcode shortly .
  13. Te Awamutu which is purely a trials track at the moment and has been having a "renovation", isn't ready to hold the designated trials next week , pushed back one week , and a set of trials at the Cambridge Synthetic have been put in their place . They are a bit slow , they haven't worked out yet that the majority don't want to trial on the synthetic , especially their babies , so now owners have to wait another week to trial and hopefully get to the races and hopefully before they strike a heavy track . And what is the problem with Te Awamutu that one more week will resolve ? At least tell us , it's all Chinese whispers and it's getting f@#ken boring . I'm so over this crap , I have 3 horses at the moment but have made the decision they are my last here , things like the this and Ellerslie just reaffirm my decision .
  14. Was at Otaki that day and she wasn't just slow , missed it by 4l , done a bit of work in the running to , and just fell in , it was a heavy 10 so she was entitled to stop but she was very brave , you could see then that she was a bit special . Danielle Johnson rode her .
  15. That should be "WE" got so much money for the hill , it is industry money , what is our is yours and what is yours is ours . Perhaps some could have been spent getting Foxton a new grand stand .
  16. Just watched some of the trials and didn't see much kick back although hard to tell , probably the jocks would have felt and said something . Also the times were pretty average if not slow in most cases , pretty sure they will be going a lot quicker on Saturday . I hope Saturday goes good for them and the industry , we definitely need this to be a success , and I love racing and punting at Ellerslie .
  17. So for $55mil spent the solve is chuck a heap of sand on it , does suggest that maybe , yet again , that a whole stack of industry money has been wasted , because it is industry money .
  18. So to sum things up , if they race on the rail and there is no rain it "Thunderbirds Go" for Saturday . Not too much to ask .
  19. Can I ask this , why was what they are doing now to remediate the current issues not done in the first place if this is what is required to have the track where it should be ? or is this a result of not following accepted practice when laying the track in the first place ? Heard Wilcox on Weigh In this morning and I just thought it was talking for the sake of it , to make it sound like they know what they are doing , but if they knew what they were doing none of this should have happened , should it ? I agree we have to give them time to sort it because we need a showpiece facility , but really it shouldn't have gotten to this stage . I don't know exactly what they are doing at Awapuni and then in turn Trentham but I bloody well hope they follow the experts advice down to the T .
  20. Looking to reopen the debate about barrier draws , some strong opinions here .
  21. You bored this morning Pogo after our disappointing exit yesterday ?
  22. Well done Veandercross , good luck next week . Thanks to my teammates , Memphis , Pogo and Little Tramp , you guys have been great to compete alongside and I'm just sorry that I didn't hold my end up better , eapecially today . To John , massive thanks for your efforts running this comp , has been great fun , most of the time , and to Scooby for putting up the prizes . I think most would agree that we weren't competing for the prizes but the fun and glory , been great to be part of and hope it happens again . Cheers .
