In early as going away for the weekend . Wanganui Race 3 Lantern Way Morphetville Race 3 Air assault Thanks guys .
-
I agree with all that but the interesting thing for me around the camber argument is that the race where the horse slipped , the winner came wider and was travelling faster than the horse that slipped on its inside yet had no issues , surely if it is purely a camber issue then the horse should have had issues as well . Personally from all I've read I think this is mostly about the grass and structure underneath that seeding instead of laying has caused , hence not enabling the horses to get a grip as a hoof hits the track .
-
That's my point , why keep foisting them on people , when clearly whilst the grass tracks are still in reasonable shape that's what trainers and owners want .
-
Got bored long before the end so didn't hear that . I agree , would love to hear him answer some hard hitting questions from Industry participants , Sharrock can be in the seat next to him as well .
-
Well if common sense had been in practice they would have said they were moving the meeting yesterday , whole heartedly self interest was at play . The most interesting aspect of this is the complete invisibility of one B Sharrock , I'm sure he is still the head of NZTR , he is isn't he ?
-
That was my first thought when I heard it , just send them out and hope like hell they all come back . I wonder if the jockeys would have just gone NAH! Or trainers not being prepared to risk their horses or even getting a race .
-
Haha , they talk shite , on weigh in this morning Guerin quoted PW as saying that they would definitely , DEFINITELY , be racing at Ellerslie on the 25th , as they needed to know what they were doing was working , almost emphatic that they would be racing there . Barely 6hrs later the backflip . Seriously who's writing their scripts because the audience is bored with the stale bullshit .

Trials at Awapuni on the synthetic have been canned because of a lack of entries , ( read lack of interest ) , and the trials on the Cambridge synthetic , replacing the TE Awamutu trials , have 11 fields made up of 90% Cambridge horses , go figure . What about the rest of the northern industry , oh that's right they can wait another week , just put it on the owners bill . They have had trials at Foxton the last two weeks with plenty of horses , what made them think there was an appetite for trials on a synthetic track this week ? When are they going to stop and ask themselves the question " why does only a small percentage of the racing fraternity use the synthetics?" and then " why don't we start giving the participants what they want ?" It's a defunct question because they will continue pressing them onto unwilling trainers and owners and not working with or for the industry .

As good as any method .

Losers Get Laid comp - Autumn/Winter version - coming soon
nomates replied to say no more's topic in Thoroughbred Cafe
Exactly , any prize is a bonus . stick with the amateur status so to speak . -
Didn't even use a wet ticket . The circle of people that have a racing profile in NZ is getting smaller and smaller , PW is seems has all but joined Weigh In team he's on there that often .
-
Already sent one of their jumpers to Aus , Fierce Flight ? raced last Sunday in a jumps race .
-
To be fair they have raced on it the 2 last weeks , one of them after the 230mls , the track looked threadbare . And visibility more the issue I think . Ellerslie is actually supposed to handle 40mls on the day .
-
A gold medal move .
-
Haha , we couldn't last week tho , I was McGinty's fractured leg this time .
-
Champions over come .
-
Geez they'll have to can Randwick shortly if you use Ellerslie as a barometer .
-
You know the more I think about his comments the more pissed I am , it's this blinkered thinking that enables these issues to continue . When is someone responsible going to stand up and accept that they have F@#KED up and walk the plank . And I'm not just talking about today or this whole Ellerslie debacle . Whilst we have Entain throwing money around they need to throw as much as necessary to get V'landys over here running our industry for 5 years .
-
Now Lethal blaming it on 40mls of rain today , nobody to blame . FFS , what am I missing .
-
let's hope we're both still around to see it eh .
-
I agree , the so called leaders in our industry do seem to score a lot of own goals . People who think this all about being negative need to understand that everyone I know is just massively disappointed that this is happening .
-
Worst possible outcome , the one thing Strathayr is supposed to do is handle rain . 230mls at Randwick 2 weeks ago and they raced , what is being done here that is so radically different . It seems we cannot renovate a track in NZ without ongoing issues .
-
I think it might have clipped heels , was in a tight situation . Hoping I'm right .
-
I thought the track was fantastic considering the rain that they have had , ran 1.09.68 , that is a great time . Hopefully it holds up for the whole day .
-
Big race day , 3 black type races , if there's any issues with the track will they just continue ? OR , abandon and look completely stupid . I hope the track holds up but it's bloody sad that everyone is sitting wondering what is going to happen , after $55mil has been spent making it state of the art .
