The Tour de Group Racing Australasia stages will be held at various times over the year.     There will be 10 stages in all and the winner of the Tour de Group Racing will be the competitor that has earned the most yellow silks over the stages and if a tie, the most dollars over the stages.   The Tour winner will be awarded with the title and prize money of $500.00  .     As we work through the stages I will update the winnings of previous yellow silk holders so standings are clear.    There is no schedule of stages, we will advise if it is a group racing champ Saturday on the Wednesday before, latest

Select two horses in each race – $5 each way will be placed on your selections.  Your selections should be posted using the horse's number only.  If you want to add the horse's name by all means do, but if your horse's number and name are for differing horses, I will use the number and disregard the name. Choose three BB races – any winnings will be doubled.     Choose three QUINELLA races  - you will receive 2 x the Quinella dividend if your two selections run first and second, BUT PLEASE NOTE : $5 EACH WAY WILL NOT BE PLACED ON EITHER SELECTION.   So choose your Quinella races carefully. You can use your BBs and Quinellas on any race but not on the same race.    If any are used on the same race I will disregard the BB and use the Quinella.    Scratching replacements can be made (on a new post) up until 2.20pm.    After 2.20pm any scratchings will revert to the TAB sub(s). The competition will close at 2.20pm.    10 minutes before the first scheduled comp race start time. This stage winner will be the competitor that has accumulated the most money after the final comp race.  If there is a tie then it will be the competitor who has selected the most winners, if still a tie the competitor that has selected the most firsts and seconds. And the main rule …. Have fun
Prize $100.00 W/P bet on A horse of the winners choice.

Sir Castleton reacted to scooby3051 in Thank You From Leigh To RaceCafe
    Dear Racecafe Community,
I want to say thank you to everyone who is participating here in the forums and the competitions. We have had over 100 new members sign up in the past two months and some are already posting and contributing to the discussion in the forums, and enjoying the competitions.
I really want this to continue to be a place for everyone to enjoy.
I have been told that some of the moderation by me in the past has upset a few, and may have been a bit tough. I never meant to offend anyone.   I believe there has to be some moderation but to offend has never been my intent.   I want everyone to feel comfortable to contribute here and my motto has always been, and will always be, "If you cant prove it, then don't say it".
I hope everyone continues to enjoy all the features of the site and we will be adding more things in the coming months.
We will also be having another Fiji comp later in the year, with mrzim and his wife getting ready to pack their bags after their daughter won the first trip and donated it to them to enjoy.
It is our intention to try to run comps most weeks and a big competition is being planned, to be held over the Autumn carnivals in Sydney and Melbourne.
Thanks so much for the good spirited and honest debates in all the forums on the site and please don't forget to check out all the features we have available to all our members.
    All the best

All Up Comp R3 :  Ellerslie R6 : Bonecrusher Stakes 3YO SW :  FINAL RACE OF COMP
    First:   5   Spirits Aubeer   $11.60 / $3.40
    Second:   12   Surely Sacred   $3.40
    Third:   7   Hypnos   $4.80
    Scr:   13
    Sub:   4

Well .. what a difference a race makes .. this All Up win and placings caper isn't as easy as we think it should be ..
The Spirit of Boom rebellious 3yo did a lot wrong but still managed to run away with the Bonecrusher and Bazza and Thepaw saw it all unfolding as they typed in their selections but just didn't have the funds needed heading into the last, Surely Sacred was the last ditch banker for RacingJimmy, scooby, Rusty, Jenlove and paigezim, but unfortunately not all allocated place money, and Hypnos, well this is where the difference of a race comes into play .. Insider, Sir Castleton and Zappa counted on the Reliable Man gelding to bring them home and that's what he did for Sir Castleton (yay Roland)  who had all of his previous winnings $32 on him to run in the first three.
Also well done to all of those that ended up with a bigger balance than 0 on the last.. looking at the duck eggs, it was no mean feat
I've highlighted the top 3 - congratulations to you!  yay!     (I will of course do a check of all results and if you think I've stolen dollaros from you .. please let me know.. )

Warren, Thecaptain, richie, Cabbage and Mardy found the striking looking Mastercraftsman 4yo mare, who dealt to the field in no uncertain terms, fantastic to see the old campaigner Authentic Paddy gutsing it out, what a wonderful horse and Winfreux and Houlahan's Dream had faith in the old boy, with Chestnut, Orphanpete, Kloppite, Sir Castleton, Pegasus 9 and crustyngrizzly favouring the Lookin At Lucky mare Our Abbadean who paid nice place money for third.
No-one on the scratching and no-one got a return under $10 so all on $10 were out of the first three placings and start from scratch.

No returns under $10 so all on $10 for the next race were either outside of the placings or were unfortunate to be on 7 Aretha who didn't pay a dividend due to 7 runners after the scratching of Appellant, but I'm sure Winfreux, flockofewes2, Warren and thecaptain didn't mind as they benefited from the fave scratching replacement.
mrzim, bazza, Stoyd, Thepaw, Thecaptain, PresidentGary, and talk all had their $10 on the nose of Aotea Lad and got off to a good start with $22 in the bank for the next, but top honours in the first go to those that found the nice paying Killin at 4's for the place earning themselves a nice kitty of $41 - lynzim, Jenlove and Girl Power with Mardy also joining in with 7 on the second placegetter.

Sir Castleton reacted to Chestnut in ALL UP COMP - SATURDAY 8 DECEMBER - RESULTS THREAD
    Howdy folks
Fantastic day of racing in NZ on Saturday, especially with a meeting at my beloved Trentham, so let's see if we can make it a bit more enjoyable for you
I'll just recap some of the rules so that you know how I'm going to score the comp - hopefully to avoid any confusion on the day
    1.  You have $10 to spend on each of the three races as a minimum - if you earn more than $10 then all of what you earn will go on the next race.   If you don't win on race 1 then you will have $10 to spend on Race 2 and likewise for Race 3.   If you gain a return under $10 then we will top it up to $10 for the next race.   What you earn in Race 3 is your final total for the competition.
    2.   How you have allocated your money in each race is how I will divide up your money when placing the bet in the next.  For example, if you have put $2 win/$8 place for race 2, I will divide your funds available after race 1 into 20%/80% and likewise after race 2 going into race 3.
    3.   Any scratchings go on to the starting fave, there are no scratching replacements.  Once you have posted, they are locked in
    4.   Competition entries close at 1.30pm - one hour before first race start time.
I think that's enough of the rules and now we get down to the fun stuff
I will do updates following each race showing totals won and how much is going to be placed on your next bet, if a total is $10.00 then competitors have either got a return under the $10 cap or they have been slightly unfortunate in their selections ...
The total showing after race 3 is how much you have won on the day.
