Who’s is this twat? Mate if you don’t like what the governing body says, go find something else to do mate with your life mate. You might actually get somewhere possibly. Great run from paddy. No matter what is going on, hands down, he is the king of hatrick at the moment, no arguments. Nature’s gent was a great run as expected considering he walks out in 8 dog fields and gets into trouble and a two dog race is right up his alley and krusty was a great run as well. All the others will have their day and pinny Mack showed exceptional speed after stumbling out thank god for all place getters because he showed incredible speed.the dyna dogs will have their day, but clearly aren’t 7 lengths faster than the good dogs up north like you suggested. To all the people who paid the entry fee. Great work, this game desperately needs positives in the general public and giving to charity is certainly on,  no matter if you think the race is a waste of funds. This game unfortunately is on borrowed time, because the attitude of some participants just don’t change.

maybe you should have applied for the job!? Good luck to the guy, he is definitely going to need it, as history has shown he can not win in this job with a lot of the participants in this industry. I Couldn’t think of anything worse!
    Wish him all the best.

Grnz put their roadshow on with their objectives to try and change the perception of the sport to the general public (which lets face it is terrible) and to try to intice new people to get Involved in the sport. I thought It was good. obviously proof is in the pudding and we'll see how it goes. But every old school participant just winges about everything that happens and is proposed in this game. I don't envy any person that works or has worked in the admin of the greyhound industry, in fact I think they are great because in the 20 years I've been in the game, it hasn't mattered who has been in charge or what they try, the same people just moan and moan!

Always tough to back up from a 630 on a Tuesday and race over 645 Thursday. Lucky for opawa plum and know value  it raced over 630 Sunday Trev, so opawa plum could run a nice 2nd!

Probably a bit harsh I Know. I agree with some of it. Dogs like calamity free winning at 5 and 1/2 in sub 18.60 show they can still race beyond the years most of them are finishing, but there aren't viable options for them to still race, when you are racing young ones coming through. If they were racing each other why wouldn't it work.
Years ago Auckland used to run races now and again for 4 year olds but they could be quite one dog affairs if a bright star say was up against the c1's. Maybe restricting grades would help.
Obviously if a dog is 7 tired and grey and not capable of competing you wouldn't race it would you unless you are retarded. No different to a 4 and a half year old now.
Yes they may not be as exciting to watch but Joe blogs at the Tab or the pub will still bet on them. The antis will never stop whinging or trying to shut it down, and making dogs careers run longer by having races catered for them can surely only help the numbers.
I can't comment on the waiting until the dogs are 2 years old would help longevity. I wouldn't know.

I don't condone live baiting at all in any form. Interesting I'm a boat builder and last week I fitted probably the 30th 'live bait' tank I have fitted in my life on a 65 footer. I can assure you Scooby the owner wasn't into greyhound racing. Interesting the double standards in this world right? Every 2nd boat in westhaven marina has a 'live bait' tank on it. Yet no one gives a toss about it!!! And you can't tell me a fish doesn't feel it because they flap like crazy when that sharp hook goes through its mouth! And before you say it's different it's for a feed. It's game fishing mate. Get a photo, a high five from your mates and then release it with a sore mouth, absolutely exhausted lucky if it survives! So if they are consistent, fishing will be banned too. Just regulate it better! Jesus Christ!

I'm guessing Jape it's to finish early to make it easier for races there the next day? Does it have an effect on their turnover at all? I know I can't see at least half the card because of work commitments and therefore don't have a bet. And I'm sure the tab pubs would be pretty quiet until just after 5.

Totally agree with you. Yes tracks obviously need a lot of work and are nowhere near perfect, but it sounds like the right people are trying to change things which onviously won't just happen over night. But Its easy to blame/abuse tracks, workers and volunteers in the industry, but how many dogs are showing up to the races with existing injuries and then stuffing themselves completely in races. How many trainers are using the track vets quick once over at kennelling time as a warrant of fitness for their dogs. You look at some of the stake earnings of some trainers and wonder how they could afford to put dinner on the table let alone pay to take their dogs to be checked properly.

After combining funds to have a syndicate bet today. We tried to hit subic bay with $4000. The dog opened at $3. The bet came back at $1000 at $3. A loss for the tab if the dog happened to beat good dogs like speed lorde who was an 18.32 winner at auckland a couple of starts ago,of $2000 (wow!!!!!).  The dog was brought into $2. After a phone call asking why this is,  the bet was removed. The dog did not go back out to $3. Stayed at $2 with not a cent on it.
You call yourself bookies. Why do you not accept a bet at a price you offer? You are always advertising people having bets of $10000 here $10000 there on horses. I suggest you are full of it!!!!! Only do it to suck people into have a bet on things you want.  You could bring the dog into $1.20 after if you like and adjust the book to suit to cover.  I'm sure people would jump into dogs like speed lorde at 5.50 or 6 bucks.
I like to think you guys have come along way since you ripped me off with harajuku boy first start in the early PC days, but clearly you have not!
